This little âSpiderâ really does look like a miniature UFO, red and blue LEDs blinking away while the rotors wind themselves up. The handset runs on 2.4 GHz, which means the signal holds right to the bottom of the garden without a wobble, and the three speed settings let newcomers start gently before letting rip. A quick toss launch followed by one-button take-off works every time, altitude hold keeps it hanging there while you wonder what to do next, and the 360-degree flip earns an immediate cheer from any child within earshot. Each of the two clip-in lithium-ion batteries lasts a touch over eight minutes. Swapping them, though, involves taking out a fiddly little screw, not ideal when excited youngsters are bouncing at your elbow. The propeller guards protect the walls quite well, yet the blades will still nip a finger if someone tries to grab it while it is spinning, so a bit of sense is required. Set-up took me a few minutes because the numbered props have to sit diagonally opposite one another. For beginners or weekend flyers it offers bright lights, calm handling and just enough stunt potential to keep everyone smiling. The build feels solid for something so small, and although each flight is short, the grin-per-minute ratio is so high that I have no regrets about getting it.

My 8 year old has been requesting a drone for a while now so I thought this would be a good one to try and just use in the house. I like that the drone itself has two rechargeable batteries provided so you can swap them out when one runs out (in around 8-10 minutes) but the cover needs to be unscrewed to change them. Charging via the provided USB connector takes about an hour. The controller needs 3 x AAA batteries (not provided). Switching the drone on makes it light up in red and blue and it’s easy enough to calibrate and set off. For someone who maybe wants a drone I actually think it’s not a bad starter one. The controller is responsive which really helps and it keeps you focused solely on flying rather than trying to operate a camera too (none provided on this one). Now the drone states age 14+ and I’d say even be cautious with that as I went to pick up the drone after it crashed and my finger went through the grate into the blade and it didn’t stop turning – thankfully it didn’t break the skin but it felt like it was slicing my finger so be very cautious when picking it up (adults too!). We’ve set a target on the floor and practiced landing then practiced flying through various rooms. As long as you’re not spinning the drone so the controls end up being backwards then it’s easy to control.

I recently received the Aooess Mini Drone for Kids, and itâs been a delightful addition to our family tech toys. Itâs compact and lightweight, perfect for little hands, yet surprisingly robust â it takes bumps and soft landings without any issues. The bright LED lights are great for fun evening flights, and they also help with orientation when itâs hovering around. The droneâs controls are simple to use, with intuitive buttons for takeoff, landing, and directional movement. Kids can get it airborne within minutes, which builds confidence and keeps them engaged. It also has a built-in altitude hold feature that makes it easier for young flyers to maintain steady hover without dodging constant falling, which helped reduce early frustration. The wind? Not a problem â its propellers are well-protected by sturdy guards, making it resilient outdoors, indoors, and even in breezy conditions.Battery life offers about 8â10 minutes of flight time, and although the included USB charging cable takes around 60 minutes to get it fully charged, thatâs a small trade-off for the convenience of easy recharging. Overall, the Aooess Mini Drone strikes a lovely balance: it’s fun, safe, and educational for beginner pilots. Whether flying solo or sharing the joy with siblings or friends, it delivers a really enjoyable introductory drone experience.

This spider drone is such a great little toy, it looks nice, feels well made, and the material is durable enough to handle a few crashes without any issues. The LED lights add a really cool effect, especially in the evening!I bought this for my nephew (heâs 9), and he absolutely loved it. To be honest, I ended up having just as much fun flying it around the garden. Itâs surprisingly easy to control, even for kids, and the extra battery is a big bonus, you get more playtime without long waits for recharging.Itâs a perfect gift for birthdays or just to keep kids entertained. Highly recommended for both kids and big kids like me!

This little drone really surprised me! Right out of the box, it has a unique and fun design that immediately caught my sonâs attention. The multiple flight modes are impressiveâtoss launch, one-key takeoff, altitude hold, and 360° flips make it incredibly engaging for both beginners and more experienced users. My 10-year-old was able to get the hang of flying it in just a few minutes, especially thanks to the headless mode and responsive 2.4GHz remote. The three speed settings are a great touch. We started on low for practice and bumped it up once he felt more confident. The LED lights look awesome at night, and the obstacle avoidance feature really does help prevent crashes, both indoors and out.Battery life is solidâtwo batteries for 16 minutes total is just right for kids without being too short. I do recommend reading the instructions carefully when installing the propellers, as they are number-matched diagonally. It took a bit of trial and error.Build quality feels durable, and the propeller guards provide some much-needed protection during rough landings. Itâs a great gift idea for boys around 8 to 12. I knocked off one star only because setup can be a bit finicky. Otherwise, a fantastic drone for the price!
