Does the job!
While I was less than impressed with the ecobee thermostat for other reasons (you can go see that review), this one is positive. Things lined up well, it covered the old holes, and visually it’s appealing to the eye. I can’t say I have any complaints with the unit or the fit and finish.

Simple Solution for a Clean, Finished Look
I recently purchased the ecobee wall plate to go with my new thermostat, and Iâm really glad I did. It made the installation process incredibly simple and saved me the hassle of patching or painting the wall. The plate is well-designed, fits perfectly, and effectively covers up the outline and screw holes left by the old thermostat.

No problems
Fits well, looks fine. Not much too it. A bit too expensive for a simple piece of plastic but it is what it is. Hole from cover plate locks with hole from the base plate. Screw it to the wall with the baseplate, insert your wires, snap on your thermostat and youâre done. When snapping on your thermostat, make sure both sides are even and you push straight. Donât try to snap in one side and then the other.

Helpful item, only remember four screws total when properly installed, not two.
It worked as advertised and looks nice. However, keep in mind that the thermostat also has a back plate with two screw holes, so all four holes in this adapter will be used when properly installed (my electrician initially only used two, so the thermostat was flopping around).

Looks & works great with the Ecobee Essential thermostat.
Size, curves, and color match the Essential thermostat design perfectly. Has a handy little built-in bubble level, and comes with four plastic wall anchors and screws.

It’s functional but…
My previous thermostat was a standard rectangular Honeywell unit with two screws holding it into the wall. On its own, the Ecobee Essential was enough to cover the right screw tap on it’s own, but the left and a few other holes in the wall were still exposed. I went ahead and grabbed this for the install thinking it would fit, but I was a little surprised to see just how wide the plate actually was. I know the install location of my previous thermostat was a little weird, so I can’t put 100% of the fault on the plate, it’s still just peculiar to have so much extra plastic on the sides of the plate when it’s not totally necessary. In comparison, the Casebot plate has all sides covered with a smaller footprint and looks quite a bit better. For the price, I’d also go for that one as well.Additionally, the plastic drywall anchors WORK, yes, but they also were extremely soft and I was worried when hammering them into the wall that they would get broken or prematurely bend before they were supposed to.

Arrived within 2 days. Exactly as described. Only had electrical box screws; no drywall screws. Used 2 drywall screws that came with Ecobee Essential Thermostat so this was not a problem.

I got this to replace my previous. It’s or misstad, because the ecobee didn’t cover the whole marks from it, and I didn’t want to have to repaint the whole hallway. As you can see, it covered up the markings from the honeywell.Very nicely and screw marks and saved me from painting .I hope this was helpful

We needed this plate after installing our Ecobee thermostat. I mean, it does what itâs supposed to, but holy moly $20+ for a flimsy piece of plastic? Didnât have a whole lot of other options.
