Battery lasts a long time
Took six hours to charge but lasts weeks when installed. Changing batteries is my simpler that charging the battery in the lock assembly.

As an extra battery, it may be unnecessary
The battery life is supposed to be 9 months and it takes about 8 hours to recharge. So, it sits and waits for the other batter to fail or show a low charge. The alternative would be to remove the battery and charge it on a day when you’re not needing to use your lock.I won’t know about battery life until 8 or 9 months from now. I may change it out earlier as we do some extensive traveling and it will be nice to know I don’t have come home to a dead battery and then find my key.

Battery life of the battery I got was easily a month or two which is more than enough for me. Takes seconds to install and swap out. Charges via USB C which is great. Functions perfectly. Did not know if I wanted to trust 3rd party brands so bought a OEM one and do not mind the few extra bucks spent.

The reason I have taken a star off of my rating is because eufy STILL fails to provide the information regarding what all this rechargeable battery is compatible with! Well, that was the case at the time of this review. For anyone who has the Video Smart Lock E330 though (Model # T8531), I can assure you that this rechargeable battery is compatible with it. Everything on the back of the battery that comes with that is identical to everything that’s on the back of this battery. Except for where it says the date in the bottom right hand corner of the information sticker. But that’s it.I also know that many people who got that E330 Video Smart Lock were a bit perturbed that there was no charging cable included to charge the battery with. And well, this rechargeable battery doesn’t come with a charging cable either, lol. Hey, in my opinion that’s a good thing. But if they are going to do that then they need to make sure they are clear about that.Anyway, no matter which of the video smart locks you have, this rechargeable battery is pretty much a must have. Especially considering that it takes 6-8 hours to fully charge. And just one more thing. I’ve noticed a lot of generic versions of these rechargeable batteries are for sale out on Amazon. But I wouldn’t recommend using any of them. It’s just always been a personal rule of mine to always use name brand when possible.

Horrible customer service
I bought several locks and cameras to have everything on one system. One of the locks stopped worked. And the experience after was terrible. Customer service is in general horrendous. They are not responsive, not helpful, and also lie about their warranty and how they address things. Escalating to managers doesn’t help. So I would not trust Eufy as a brand or a warranty. Pick something else.
