How Foxwell nt301 impress me?
A true sharing story from a named Steve:
Right out of the box this worked perfectly on my Acuras and Corvettes. Very cool device, was able to scan for all active and stored codes!
Could see my O2 sensors and full emission system was working. Measured my boost levels and IATs in real time. Great value!
Is Foxwell NT624 Elite All systems scanner better?
A true story from using NT624 Elite scanner:
I purchased this for the “live data” feature and I’m 100% satisfied! I was able to service the transmission on my 2017 BMW 740i.
I was also getting a “reduced driver assistance” error and had no idea where to look. This system directed me to an harness in the front bumper. I then remove the cover and found that the harness wasn’t secured.
I can’t imagine what BMW dealer would have charged me for this simple error. I plugged it back in and the error was gone!

[Vehicle CEL Doctor] The NT301 obd2 scanner enables you to read DTCs, access to I/M readiness status, figure out the root reason of check engine light or MIL turned on, monitor sensors test, read live data and retrieve VIN of your vehicle. The fault code only can be cleared after repair finished by NT301, as like all the obd2 code readers’ working principle. As a basic code reader, it only support obd2 functions, not support any special functions or battery test.
[Accuracy & Streams] Live data graphing and logging. Accurately read error codes for most Worldwide cars, SUVs, light trucks and 12V diesels equipped with Obd2. Graphing live vehicle sensors data allows you to focus on any suspicious data and trend. It is a engine code reader, it DOESN’T support read datas such as ABS, transmission and others.
[Worthy to Own] Recommended by most professional mechanics on Youtube. Codes analysis and Printer compatible. Unique PATENTED design, 2.8″ color screen and 1-year seller assurance with EXCLUSIVE tech and service team. Plug & Play, no need to update before use
[S-mog Check Helper] Read/Erase and I/M readiness hotkeys make it easy to use the car computer reader right out of the package. Red-Yellow-Green Leds and build-in speaker indicate the readiness status for confident e-missions test
[Home Necessity] Open to global customers. No built-in battery required, Plug& Play. NT301 obd scanner is charged directly from the 16pin DLC in your vehicle. It is recommended as a necessity in your toolbox and great choice for Home and Autoshop Mechanics. Not support ABS or SRS system
[OBDII Protocols & Compatibility] The NT301 supports OBDII protocols like KWP2000, J1850 VPW, ISO9141, J1850 PWM and CAN. The device is compatible with 1996 US-based, 2000 EU-based and Asian cars, light trucks, SUVs. Kindly check the vehicle compatibility before the purchase. Select correct menu & ensure no hardware/wiring issues for accurate results. Vehicles from 1996-2003 may read data slower due to classic cars or high data volume
[Read Fault Codes] About the read code function needs to be in the ignition on state and if the Check Engine light is on. If the vehicle is compatible with NT301, please select correct menu & ensure no hardware/wiring issues/obd2 interface damage for accurate results. The correct menu: Select OBDII/EOBD->Wait for seconds-> Select Read codes
[Please Note] If you are not pleased with your NT301 and choose to return it, please kindly mark it as unsellable to avoid and used one is resold again to other customers. Appreciate very much. If you received the used product or package damage, we also are responsible for this problem and will provide new replacement or refund

This scanner is recommended by “best rated” articles, plus gives an explanation beside each code
I was surprised at how easy this was to use. The buttons are easy to push and the menu is easy to understand. It plugs in and out without a problem. It was so simple and fast that when it didn’t show me a code I wondered if I was not using it right and did it several times! In addition to the codes this scanner also provides an explanation beside it. It was highly praised by professional sites in their ‘best rated’ articles on small scanners. They say it is easy to read, has easy instructions. They said this was the only model that also gave an explanation beside the code; I thought that all scanners would, but apparently not the case. So I confidently purchased this brand upon their recommendation…The car I wanted to check is a 2001 Corolla and I was hearing a whine, so I decided to get a scanner to check it out. Since I only know the basics when it comes cars, I thought it would be helpful to have one at home since my car is older. I was glad to see that the scanner found no code. Ultimately the whine was the carburetor and I had it repaired. From that time til now I haven’t needed it, but I confess I’ve hooked it up a couple of times just for the fun of it. As a non-mechanic I think this scanner is perfect, and since the reviews were written with a mechanic in mind I expect a mechanic might like it as well.

A Must-Have Tool
Iâve owned the FOXWELL NT301 for over two years now, and itâs saved me hundredsâif not thousandsâof dollars in diagnostic fees. This scanner is incredibly easy to use, even if youâre not a professional mechanic. Plug it in, hit âRead,â and youâll get a clear code with a description that you can look up or clear immediately. What I really love is the live data featureâit lets you monitor real-time engine metrics, which has been super helpful for tracking down intermittent issues. The interface is straightforward and the buttons are very responsive. It feels sturdy and well-built, definitely not cheap plastic like some other scanners Iâve tried.I used it to diagnose a check engine light on my car, and within minutes, I knew exactly what the problem was. Replaced the part myself and cleared the codeâproblem solved. If youâre a car owner who likes to stay ahead of issues, this is hands-down one of the best investments you can make. Highly recommended!

Works okay but can probably buy another brand at lower price
I used it one time and it works fine. It has to be connected to the vehicle power source to work. Don’t clear the data if it’s not necessary. If you do it will require you to do a complete driving cycle before it will pass the emissions test. That will take up to 100 miles to complete.

Great for the price
Great product. I have multiple vehicles and when a code pops up. Just plug it in. Easy to navigate. Get a code and proceed to the parts store to fix the issue. Gives u everything u could need for a basic diy guy. Live data, code reading.

Excellent device with one issue
Excellent OBD II reader/analyzer with a lot of helpful features, however, device cannot be updated without a Windows machine (no Mac support) and there is no app either. Overall I would spend a bit more for the update capability but otherwise a solid choice for most people. Surprisingly feature rich.

Easy to Read Engine Error Codes
Used this on a 2009 Dodge Charger and it worked great. Super easy to follow the menus and read codes. I haven’t used it for anything more advanced than this reading error codes while the check engine light is on.

Needed this
Thusfar, good. Easy to handle and good grip. Easy operation with CLEAR instructions. No confusing nomenclature.Functioning is straight on.

Call it mediocre if it is so (Can I actually find the proper tool on this site?)
It’s portable, It’s sturdy. I guess it’s even decently priced. I’m not a gearhead, never claimed to be, and if you are, good for you! Now it does scan, it reads codes (I don’t have error code, just rando stalls with no clue), it does live monitoring, and the other functions I haven’t really tried. I needed it for the recording function which is terrible! 29-30 phases (about 1 minute) of recording if you pick all stats on the engine, a little longer if you’re reading the Transmission ECU. I need something that runs longer than that, restarting the recording every 2 minutes or whatever is rather unsafe in traffic, I don’t have a Copilot who can do this on my daily work trips. Yes, there’s 3 memory slots, but each does only 1-2 mins which is not good when you’re trying to keep this thing plugged in until the engine acts up and you can possibly see any difference in the numbers, which was reason A for purchasing this. So they don’t tell you, because that aspect of this gadget is abysmal! Reason B was the interface….[DEEP BREATH]. As previously stated, ensure you have a burner PC, because that driver and software is sketchy with a capital S. Also, make sure you’re network is disabled and run it in VM, just to make sure. Windows only folks! Since other Operating Systems are less vulnerable to anything…”bad”. Now since we’ve addressed the driver, oh god, the software!!! I’ve seen Government Websites better designed than this piece of …..excrement. The print function work, but if you actually print it, prepare to have a ream of paper (per 2 min report). It prints it out with having HP stonks go BRRR in mind. You can copy and paste to put it in a neat spreadsheet, but you will spend a significant amount of time, doing so, because you will have to have more than basic Excel knowledge and you better know keyboard shortcuts. It won’t format it, it’s plain text, no csv or anything that make importing easier. The further into the report, it also gets more garbled. So just in case you weren’t already annoyed by having to manually turn a text file into a spreadsheet, the formatting gets so garbled, you actually cannot import the numbers as they get tainted by the formatting inconsistencies. After having only 2 trips, 2 memory slots today, and needed more than 2 hrs to realize that the second part of the data was too corrupted to manually import, I have to quit my relationship with this gadget. It is not worth my time as it does not work towards my needs. BLUF: It works, just don’t expect a professional product. You get what you pay for.
