Feels solid, easy to use, compact dock
As far as I can tell, the controller is good. Buttons are nice to press, the face plate is simple to remove if you wanted to swap it, the controller has some weight to it so it doesn’t feel cheap? Not that that affects how it’s used. The handles are made of a grippy rubber material, in contrast to the smooth plastic that makes up the face plate. The sticks are smooth to use. Haptic feedback works too.The first thing you should do when you get this controller is connect it to a computer and update its firmware, that solved an initial strange behavior I saw. Anyways, the dock is easy to use and small so it doesn’t take up too much space. When you pick up the controller it automatically connects to the usb receiver that’s plugged into the dock, and that will connect your controller to whatever your dock is connected to (pc, console, anything else). So I can grab my controller from my dock and hear a successful connection sound within a few seconds. No clicking connect on my game device, no mashing buttons on the controller to wake it up.I have 3 devices that I use this controller with, so instead of having to pair/re-pair the controller each time I want to switch, I can just unplug the dock and plug it into the new device. I use it with a switch, my pc, and a steam deck docked, and it works seamlessly with each one. It also uses the correct a/b/x/y layout for the switch compared to pc/steam deck, which I really like. Only downside with this controller is that I enjoy pressing the back pedals so much that I have to unbind them any time I’m playing a game that I don’t need those buttons for. Otherwise I’ll just mash them during downtime.Overall, I like the controller, so much that I’m prioritizing playing games in my library that can are controller compatible. It’s fun to use, I never worry about connecting or setting up my controller, this is the most plug-and-playable controller I’ve ever owned.

Very Odd Button Placement – Why GAMESIR!?!? Why?
This a difficult review to write since I really like a lot about this controller (especially at this price point), but it has one GLARING issue (at least in my use case) that makes me not like it and ultimately, forced me to return it.POSITIVES: The sticks and triggers feel great, the RGB lighting is a neat touch, and the included charger works well. Connectively seemed to work very well while I used the controller (via the USB dongle).NEUTRAL: The A, B, X, and Y buttons, and the directional pad feel okay. Nothing special compared to the sticks and triggers. The controller feels a little on the lighter side. Not that I want to hold a heavy controller, but it definitely makes it feel less than premium (for this price not a big deal). I am not sure if the lighter weight is partly due to a smaller battery size. I did not use it long enough to test the battery life. The app used to program the controller is fine. It is very simple, but it works.NEGATIVE: Now for the one thing about this controller that absolutely makes no sense to me and makes it unusable. The placement of the menu (start) button and the back button make NO SENSE on this controller. It copies an Xbox controller layout in every way except for these two buttons. For some reason, they decided to move the home (Xbox) button down and to the right a little, added an extra button to the left of that and then placed the menu and back buttons ABOVE those two buttons at the top. Look at the pictures of the device and you’ll understand what I am describing. Not only does this go against muscle memory for an Xbox controller, but it also makes reaching those buttons feel very unnatural (they are much higher than a regular Xbox controller), and I was constantly pressing the home button by mistake. This might not be a big deal if you rarely use these buttons, but I play a lot of modded games, and end up needing all of the buttons available, so I end up using these buttons pretty frequently, I did try remapping them to the back buttons (this controller has two), but my bigger hands just meant I was constantly pressing them on accident.If it wasn’t for this very odd choice of button placement I would love this controller, but for me, it is not usable with this button layout. It looks like this is a common theme with GAMESIR controllers, and I wish I had noticed before purchasing.
