Great switches
I bought these GE Brand switches instead of cheaper options as I wanted ones thst would last. They are well made and work great and easy to install. They are very smooth to use and not overly tight. I saved a ton on gas buying them here on Amazon.

It’s a Light Switch
NEC standard switches are frankly not designed very well, all in all, but this is a completely competent, solid version of the standard, as far as I can tell. Yes, the terminals could be better, but they’re sturdy. Yes, the face frame will tend to bend, but you can straighten it. Yes, you may have to take the cover plate off to futz with the switch placements and then put it back on, but that’s normal.Leave yourself enough wire to easily fool with the connections, especially if you’re using 12, and you won’t hate it too much, assuming you can get the excess wire back in the box without bending or loosening or breaking something. Someday we’ll have better designed components, but for now this is a good example of the type. The switch itself is pleasantly chunky and has a soft but positive throw. Looks decent. Good value for the money.

Nice switch, just one thing
This is a quality light switch, no doubt about it. It is UL listed so it has the extra safety features UL requires.Now, I’m not an electrician, nor do I play one on TV. I’m actually an accountant, so be warned!Okay, I find that this switch isn’t as “smooth” as some switches are. This isn’t a soft “turn of / turn off” and actually you hear an audible “click” every time you do. It is loud enough to hear outside of the box.I got this because I put LED lights in that are non-dimmable and my previous switch was a dimmable switch. So this was a good replacement except for the “click”, but I think I can live with it. You definitely know which you have “flipped the switch.” No doubts in your mind. No longer any “half flipped switches” which burn them out. This is on or off.I hope this review was helpful.
