Works fine but problems getting it setup
Like others have mentioned, it’s in Chinese (I was able to get it changed to English during the setup process). The bigger issue was that I wasn’t able to get it setup using my Google Pixel 8. Besides having to install the Google home app it was asking me to install some other Device setup app from the Google Store which I was not able to do since that app was not supported on any recent Pixel versions. After much time and frustration I was finally able to get it working using my wife Apple iPhone (go figure). Now that it is setup I can also manage using Google Home on my Pixel.

Instructions in Chinese
All instructions and information on package were in Chinese. Seriously? Haven’t connected it yet but fortunately found instructions from previous Chrome Cast in English.Update – tried to set up this Chromecast but because it is entirely in Chinese my television was not able to communicate with it. What do I have to do to get an English speaking Chromecast??? ð¡

Setup is Difficult with these
Like other have commented, these Gen3 Chromecast devices were made for the Chinese market and have restrictions on them. When I try to set up the Chromecast from the Google Home app on my Pixel 6 phone, it tells me the device needs to be activated before setup and points me to a deprecated Device Utility app on the Google Play Store. So I asked ChatGPT and the advice I got (which did work) was to use a different device (other than my Google Phone) to activate it. I used the Google Home app on my wife’s Samsung Phone and it worked perfectly! Someone else mentioned using his wife’s iPhone (which should also work).
