Very powerful, but a bit of a learning curve
What I found most impressive in this software is the availability of training material. Not only is the functionality excellent, and the library of objects is huge, but the quality of the videos on the website of the manufacturer is phantastic. Having said this, you will need a bit of training to use this software. But then again, what this software allows you to do is anything but trivial. Constructing a realistic roof with just a few mouse clicks, creating a list of materials for the room you designed, etc. The power o this software is outstanding.

You have limits in customization
6/10/20 Update.You can modify walls within the Suite version. However there are limits in customizing your design as some features are limited to the professional versions.Still a good software.Unlike the pro versions, you will not be able to make certain modifications with the Suite Verson. Eg. Changing wall types is not an option with the Suite where tehe Pro and the Architect versions (more money) have those options.Very easy to use and lots of opportunities to add additional components from manufactures such as fittings, faucets, etc.

Very difficult to learn for the average consumer
First off, this is a great product for someone can learn to use it with efficiany and the price is right. However, I’m only giving 3 stars overall due to the complexity of learning the software. I’m pretty good with computers and software, but this product made me feel pretty ignorant. The initial video they provide is not enough to get trough how to use all the features. There needs to be a product that’s a little more user friendly.

Perfect Entry Level program very enjoyable
This program is very addicting. I have been enjoying it alot. I’m not a pro, I just like try new things. I have mapped out my house and started to do some theory crafting on my house. I have been using different programs for different types of hobbies for years. Learning this program was real quick for me.I had to RMA my motherboard and also upgraded my nvme drives. I reinstall the program and couldn’t use my key because it was still register to my old setup. Customer Service helped me take care of the issue real quick. A+. Once I setup my account with Chief Architect I was able to activate the key to my new build.The programs runs very smooth with no issues for me.My system specs :Ryzen 9 3900x2x16GB 32GB DDR4 3600Nvidia GTX 1080ti4TB NVME

Unique mix of hard to use and not very full featured.
This software is much more difficult to use than something like sketchup for even moderately complex features. Google how to build a clerestory roof, for example. It’s about a dozen multi-part steps that ends up with a hacked together feature that is very difficult to modify. In sketchup this would be 2 or 3 operations and would take less than a minute. Door and window placement is very nice but on balance it isn’t worth it.

Frustrating to use
Software interface/layout is fairly intuitive to use. Frustrating that the software limits certain designs, such as the roof. Unable to create gable roof on ranch style house, cannot add hip roof to it either. Not able to add porches, not able to add covered porch. Difficulty in adding attached garage. Appears can only create new homes not remodelexisting home without additional purchases.

Plans ready for the building department in a couple of days.
I have used an earlier version of this product to design my current house. I bought this new version to design a house for a friend. The learning curve is steady but not steep and the help and tutorial features are great. You will have your first plan in a few hours. But I highly recommend you spend much time tweeking and viewing before you send them to the printer. Multiple view features help with visualization. We like to place all furniture and fixtures prior to completion and then walk through in the doll house view. This really helps to see room functionality and traffic patterns. My plans were ready for the engineer, truss supplier and building department in 2 days. Done, my friend is thrilled. For the price IT CANNOT BE BEAT!

Pretty good software!
This is a great way to design and visualize structures. There are some parts of it that are less intuitive than others, so you should expect to look at the help files. In some instances the help files were also fairly not super helpful, which could be an easy improvement.But overall, this is a pretty good piece of software it just needs to have some ease-of-use improvements.Such as:-Allow the user to re-material/re-color a whole object (or multiple) without having to select and apply the sub-parts-Improve the documentation around bridging floors with a staircase.-Improve the documentation around building single-slope roofs
