Solid Entry-Level Scooter with a Few Minor Flaws
The Hover-1 Neo X is a well-built entry-level scooter that’s great for beginners. Setup was quick and easyâjust four bolts to attach the handlebar to the stem, and everything needed (including extra bolts and tools) is provided in the box.Build & Display:The scooter feels solid and sturdy. The digital display is bright, easy to read in both daylight and nighttime, and shows current speed, speed mode, battery level, and light status clearly.Lighting:The built-in headlight (mounted in the center of the handlebar) illuminates about 5 feet ahead. While it works fine for basic visibility, the beam could be wider. I plan to add a separate bike light to improve nighttime riding. Surprisingly, the underbody light is brighter and lights up a 3â4 foot radius around the scooter, which adds great visibility in the dark. The tail light is functional, though nothing special.Performance:To engage the motor, youâll need a light kick-start to about 2 mph. Once the motor kicks in, thereâs a noticeable joltânothing crazy, but it might surprise first-time riders. At 230 lbs, I was able to reach the advertised top speed of 15 mph on flat roads, which was impressive. However, the scooter struggled on hills with a 4.5% incline, eventually slowing to a stop and requiring a manual kick to continue uphill. This is expected for scooters in this price range, but worth noting if you have a lot of elevation in your area.Design Flaws:The biggest issue I ran into was with tire inflation. The front tire has a cover that makes it nearly impossible to fit a standard pump valve, and the rear tireâwhile uncoveredâstill has very limited space due to the small 8.5″ wheel size. A valve extender is highly recommended. Also, while folding the scooter is simple, the latch that’s supposed to hook onto the rear fender doesnât quite line up correctlyâitâs off by a few millimeters and doesn’t securely lock in place.Final Thoughts:Overall, this is a solid scooter for beginners or casual riders. It performs well on flat terrain, looks great with its underglow lights, and is easy to set up and fold (despite the latch issue). Just be prepared to make a couple of small upgradesâlike a light and a valve extenderâfor the best experience.

Great power and stability
This scooter is extremely nice looking and well made. Love the headlight and speed mode plus all the gauges .. it has plenty of power to move me around at 220 lbs. Iâm sure it could do more weight.. the run time is great and the kickstand holds on in place !I would definitely buy another!!!

Good Value Compared to Others
***Update – broken parts quickly. Adding pictures here, but the back wheel broke off both units received after the first few rides. No weight was placed on the cover, it just seemed to pop off with slight movement of the back wheel. There isnât a clean way to reattach, so it appears the only option is to just leave the back wheel uncovered. Not thrilled with thatâ¦I liked the option to set a slower speed or switch to full power. This is planned for my 11 year old son, so I want the ability to dial it back a bit, until we’re sure he will take care riding this.Overall, the battery life is enough he can take around the neighborhood and not be concerned about making it home. He’s ridden all sorts of scooters, bikes, etc, so getting started on this was straightforward and easy. Just a few minutes getting used to how to stand and how best to take turns, then he was good to go.It has a lower weight limit, but seemed to handle a grown adult to test this out first. No real results on if we lowered the range with added weight, but I’d suspect that’s the only real downside of using higher weight than the suggested 160 lbs.The confusing part was the range. Product description shows up to 7 miles on a charge, with full battery in 5 hours. When we charged this up fully, it seemed like range lasted much further than 7 miles. No way to measure from the scooter screen, but estimating by the route taken, I’d say it’s easily 50% higher with an 80 pound, 11 year old. Charging does take the full 5 hours, as we ran the battery to 0% and waited to see how long before it was ready. Best setup would be to use this during the day, then plug it in overnight to be ready again the next day. Certainly not a great option to just top this up and get going again. Charging was slightly slower than expected. The one part that felt silly was the little bell, similar to one you’d see with a little kid’s bike. With all the other electronic parts are gauges, the little metal bell just didn’t seem to fit in. Not a deal killer, just felt out of place.Overall, felt like a good value for the scooter and what you get. Solid build quality and easy to get started. Expecting this will be durable enough for the few years he will want to use a scooter to get around.

Donât buy it.
This scooter has been absolutely nothing but problems since I bought it. It will not hold a full charge and dies while youâre using it causing you to walk it home. I would not recommend it. Absolutely garbage.

Quick, easy to control and quick charging!
I am very happy with this scooter! This is my second electric scooter and it works wonderfully, is super easy to use and the charging is as fast as I would expect. The battery life could be better, but I am comparing it to a much larger and more power scooter. It comes with 2 preset speeds, 9 mph & 16 mph, which can be changed but I dislike that, like most electric scooters, you need the app to really change settings. The brakes work well and the lights are pretty visible during the day and very visible at night. Overall, for a midsized scooter, it has plenty of power, the battery life is acceptably long and it looks good too!
