Insta360 One RS Twin Edition: Could the Best Get Even Better?
Over the years, I have used many action cameras, 360-deg cameras & as well as mini-cameras, not to mention more professional DSLR both in my professional work and in my hobbies. There has always been something appealing about having a tools than can perform multiple tasks and do them well. It is certainly better than having to pack several different camera for a single shoot. So when Insta360 first introduced their modular One R a few years ago, I was on board–it had never been done before and I needed to see if this would really work. I loved the fact that I could convert my singular camera into a 360-deg camera for “record now, reframe later” and then into a conventional action camera is just seconds. Furthermore, the post-capture action shots lab software of the Insta360 products have been best in class allowing you to creating professional level videos in mere minutes. I have recorded and published quite a portfolio is stunning images & videos from One R (Twin Edition) 360 mod, and even caught events that I found on reviewing my 360 footage I might have missed with a more conventional camera.Fast forward to now when they have introduced the new One RS with a faster processor, larger battery and a 4K Boost lens (included in the Twin Edition). The quality of the images from the One RS 48 mega-pixel lens is pretty amazing especially in capturing fast moving objects and events. The one thing that was a disappointment on the One R was audio, esp. wind noise while in motion. My preliminary review on this new camera show that the audio is definitely better on the One RS but I would still love to have crisper audio. Most action camera suffer from this without an external audio mic–so this is an area for continued improvement.Something new on the One RS is Active HDR–this is perfect for my automotive sports action–the video is clear, stabilized and vibrant. I have some pretty amazing bumper style videos that, although I have several drones, would have been difficult to capture with this perspective. Even better, I love the fact that I can edit on the fly in the mobile app.So I started with the question, “can the best get even better?” Well, the answer appears to be YES! I am honestly looking forward to pushing the One RS Twin to the limits of my own creativity with a tool that is as compact and versatile as this,

Eigentlich erhält man für den Preis zwei Kameras. Durch das modulare System mit einer Linse für „normale“ Actioncamaufnahmen und einer 360°-Linse für ausgefallenere 360°-Aufnahmen kann man die One RS für unterschiedliche Einsatzzwecke verwenden.Auf den ersten Blick ist die Videoqualität der 4K Linse absolut überzeugend für so ein kleines Teil. Vor allem in Kombination mit der Stabilisierung erhält man scharfe und stabile Aufnahmen, selbst wenn man die Kamera nicht besonders ruhig hält. Die Kamera hält dabei was sie verspricht und liefert Aufnahmen im Stil klassischer Actionkameras.Noch besser als die 4K Linse ist die 360° Linse. Sie bietet in Kombination mit dem Selfiestick und der dazugehörigen Handyapp noch mehr Möglichkeiten. Ausrichtung, Blickwinkel, Bildausschnitt und vieles mehr lassen sich in der App sehr einfach nachträglich anpassen und das Ergebnis ist in kürzester Zeit exportiert. Dabei ist die App sehr intuitiv bedienbar und nahezu selbsterklärend. Eine Vielzahl von KI-basierten Bearbeitungsvorlagen erlauben es sehr einfach Ergebnisse mit Wow-Effekt zu erzielen. Erfahrungen im Videoschnitt oder zusätzliche Software sind dafür nicht notwendig – Alles was man braucht ist die Kamera und ein Smartphone mit der App. Das ist vor allem dann gut, wenn man mal schnell etwas in den sozialen Medien posten möchte, ohne lange Zeit in die Nachbearbeitung zu investieren. Die 360°-Linse eröffnet neue Perspektiven und Möglichkeiten die weit über das was man von normalen Kameras kennt hinaus geht. Damit zu filmen und die Aufnahmen dann nachträglich zu reframen macht außerdem unheimlich viel Spaß!Die Idee Linse, Akku und Kern in einzelne Module aufzuteilen ist innovativ und trotzdem nicht unnötig kompliziert. Der Zusammenbau ist selbsterklärend und funktioniert einwandfrei. Dabei wirken alle Teile hochwertig in der Verarbeitung und scheinen für einen dauerhaften Einsatz konzipiert zu sein.Die Halterung am Gehäuse ist kompatibel mit GoPro Zubehör wie Halterungen, Chestmounts etc. Wer hier also zum Beispiel von einer älteren GoPro switchen möchte kann die bestehenden Halterungen weiterhin verwenden. Trotz des modularen Systems ist die Kamera wasserdicht bis 5m. Ich freue mich darauf, das bei nächster Gelegenheit auszuprobieren.Als einzig negativen Punkt ist Tonaufnahme zu nennen. Das ist zwar nicht verwunderlich bei einer Actionkamera dieser Größe, aber der Sound der Kamera ist definitiv noch verbesserungswürdig. Vor allem bei Wind hört man so gut wie nichts wenn man in die Kamera spricht. Ansonsten gibt es hier eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung für alle die auf der Suche nach der perfekten Actionkamera sind.
