What A Nightmare
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Well i thought this product would work on my German engineered vehicle turns out I was wrong and its been an absolute nightmare trying to reach someone in China. I have a phone number to call but I can’t seem to get through to anyone and the manufacturer launch just gave me an email address to their overseas division and no one has helped me and now im out 150 dollars and my car is broke down in the garage and again no one is trying to assist me so as a consumer im notnhappy with Amazon, AutoScope or Launch. Had i known it was going to be a nightmare to get some help i would’ve never wasted my time or money on this product. It.worked.for a short time and now its not helping me fix my car at.all….Faulty equipment id say and if they are willing to do this to me they are doing it to others too

A very user friendly and easy to use device.
The device works as advertised. It has an easy to follow user interface. There is good documentation and user manuals that are provided. I had an airbag warning light. The diagnostic indicated the passenger seat rail sensor was disconnected or defective. Looked under the seat and sure nuffâ¦the connector was disengaged. Plugged it back in to the sensor. Reran the diagnostic. No problem was noted. I reset the warning light. Problem solved. The cost for a diagnostic at The Ford dealer was the same cost as the device. So effectively the cost of the device was zero.

This is a great code reader with a great screen for read out. I was very impressed by the quality and ease of use.I was getting a light in my car so I hooked this up. It ended up being something very minor that I could fix on my own. The code reader itself saved me 150 bucks because I didnât have to go to a garage to get them to do it. Money well spent.I then used the system to change my battery. I had no idea that you needed to reset the BMS (battery management system) as per instructions so I did that without issues. The code reader hooks right into the car by a cable where it gives you real time read out of the systems for your vehicle. I donât know if it would fit every vehicle but, I image the connection is universal. One thing I didnât do which caused a few issues was I didnât update it before use. So I would suggest doing that so youâre not having any issues. Once it was updated there were no issues at all so I suggest you do that first. I did have to send in a help request which was answered in 48 hrs. I was given instructions on how to fix the issue which in hindsight was my own fault and I should have read the directions and updated. Itâs very easy to update just connect to Wifi and your pretty well good to go with a few buttons pushed to get that going. The code reader has lifetime free updates so no need to pay to get the newest updates when or if you get a new vehicle. To me thatâs huge and makes the system even better. In the first week I saved 150 plus just to get a diagnostic on an issue with a fuse which was 10 bucks. It hasnât paid for itself quite yet but I have no doubt it will very quickly. The code reader is high quality and my brother who is a mechanic tried it out and said ya this is a good one. He really liked it and is going to get one himself so that says a lot for the product to me.The code reader takes batteries it is not a rechargeable in case anyone wanted to know.

Review for: “LAUNCH CRP123I V2.0 OBD2 Diagnostic Scan Tool 4 Systems Engine ABS SRS Transmission Scanner with 7 Reset, OBD2 Code Reader with Oil/EPB/DPF/SAS/BAS/BMS Reset Throttle Adaption,Fit for All Cars”Brand: LAUNCHFirst look: The LAUNCH CRP1231 V2.0 OBD2 diagnostic scan tool came in a single-zippered case inside a box (24.9 cm x 17.7 cm x 7.6 cm) with the User manual, Quick start guide, USB charging cable, and diagnostic cable (with cap). The case is slightly smaller than the box.Measurements: The code reader is about 8 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ x 1 3/8″ (22.2 cm x 12 cm x 3.4 cm). The USB cord is about 29.5″ (75 cm) and the pin cord to the car is about 41” (104 cm).Charging: The code reader is rechargeable, either with the USB charging cable or plugging it into a vehicle with the diagnostic cable. The light will be red when charging and green when fully charged.Operation & Testing: I tried plugging it into the car, and it asked me language, time zone, then wanted to connect to the nearest Wi-Fi. There is no “skip” button so it needs to be connected to register and update the software. On page 23 in the manual under “Renew Software Subscription” it says, “for Creader Professional 123E PLUS / 129E PLUS, the preset diagnostic software can be free to use and update for two years. After it expires, it will become disabled. In this case, renew your subscription to unlock it.” I’m not sure if this remains free or if there is a fee to renew after 2 years.I found that when it was downloading then installing the new updates, the screen would go blank and the download would need to start over. In the settings, I found under “Display/Brightness” the “Sleep” time and set it to “Never” until the updates were complete. When it said it was complete, there was a button to “continue updates” and I clicked it, and then it started the downloads all over again. I would think it should know what it has done already and continue from where it left off. I would suggest not pressing “continue” if it says it is finished. There are also options in the settings menu for volume, screen capture, and units. You can enter your Shop information and email address and it will send you the reports via email when connected to the internet which is pretty cool. The screen is brightly lit up and is touch-screen, but there is no lighting on the buttons to the right of the screen.Opinion: As a backyard mechanic I was really impressed with this scanner. It does things other scanners I’ve used haven’t done, like graphs of the O2 sensors and battery that says if they are good or bad, and if the battery is charging in real time. It’s awesome that it charges while plugged into the car, so you don’t have to locate the specialized cord and plug it in when you want to charge it, although I would prefer it charged via USB-C as well rather than the specialized cord.

My 2013 Hyundai Veloster has recently been having some issues with the engine light coming on, so in an attempt to resolve the issue at home, I figured I’d order the LAUNCH OBD2 Diagnostic Scan Tool. When the product arrived, it was in a carrying case inside the company box. The carrying case has a soft shell and is entirely made of fabric. Inside the case, there is the OBD2 scanner, two cables, and two instruction manuals. The OBD2 scanner is entirely made of a rubber material. It has tactile buttons on the front, a large touchscreen display, two cable inlet ports on the top, and a power button. The first thing that stood out to me about the product is its quality and functionality. The OBD2 scanner is extremely high quality. The rubber material is not only protective but easy to grip. On the back, there are also two diverts to improve its gripability. The buttons on the front are tactile; however, they do not need to be used as the device is a touch screen. The device also has amazing features. Its diagnosis function gives a full and in-depth report on your vehicle, even to the point of testing parts that do not have issues to test your vehicle’s overall functionality. It is also able to test the battery voltage and scan the OBD2 port for any electrical issues or communication issues. One thing that I particularly like is that when the OBD2 scanner shows a code, it can instantly search Google for potential solutions. It is also able to detect your vehicle make, model, and VIN upon plugging it in. With the help of the scanner, I was easily able to identify my car’s issue and order the replacement parts.Overall, at the product’s current price point of $279.99 CAD, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is experiencing vehicle issues. The code reader is efficient and accurate. It has many features and provides a detailed report of your vehicle’s overall functionality. It’s a great product, that’s high quality, and very convenient.

My car is not in immediate need of repair, so the real-life test is still to come. I can see however that this scanner is built well, and is full of useful features. It came in a nicely padded carrying case, with beautifully printed user manual on 28 pages (English only), a multi-language Quick Start guide, and with two cords – one for charging, and another for connecting to on-board computer system.I like the large touchscreen, and the ease of navigating the menu. One thing I found concerning, is that I could not make it to just work. I had to set it up first by selecting menu language and country of operation, and could not even be done at that. It demanded to be connected to Internet over WiFi, and made me agree to the terms of three large legal documents – Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Service Agreement. Some portions of these documents are insisting on unimpeded collection of private data. If you feel like re-reading these documents later, they are available in “About” section of the menu. However, for reasons I do not understand, I could not read the Service Agreement without being connected to Internet. So overall, this is a helpful and capable device. But I have no idea what else it does, besides its “normal” duties.
