A Great Book to have at hand and review.
Have watched her for two years now and thought I would never get the information down but her short videos online have truly helped. Never too much information given all at once. Started reading the book, which is the perfect size, not a tiny paper back book, but good size font, and larger pages which makes reading and writing notes very helpful. A lot of information shared in one book, with sections neatly outlined for what they cover. Happy I bought it and definitely going through it to review specific questions I had.

A Must-Read for Anyone Navigating Medicare
The Medicare Mamaâs Guide to Medicare by Sylvia Gordon is one of the most well-written and accessible Medicare resources Iâve read. As a licensed Medicare agent, Iâve gone through extensive training and worked with countless clientsâyet I still found this book incredibly helpful. Sylvia explains a few nuances and real-world scenarios that even I hadnât fully considered, which makes this a valuable tool for both professionals and consumers. What makes this book stand out is Sylviaâs ability to break down complex topics like Medicare Advantage vs. Medigap, late enrollment penalties, and Part D coverage in a way thatâs clear, accurate, and easy to follow. Her real-life experience and down-to-earth tone give the book a practical edge that you just donât get from official Medicare publications.Whether youâre turning 65, supporting a loved one, or even working in the industry like I do, this book is a must-have. Itâs informative, honest, and empoweringâexactly what people need when making important healthcare decisions.

Great gift for friends nearing retirement
I was very confused about Medicare and didn’t know where to start researching. This book was extremely helpful. It’s written in a very easy to read style. A lot of what I thought I knew was outdated information, so I’m glad I took the time to educate myself . I recommend everybody do the same! I bought it as a gift for my friends who are also confused about Medicare since we are all the same age and need all the help we can get.

I didn’t even know what I didn’t know
I’m going to be honest up front and disclose I have been a personal close friend of Sylvia since we were freshmen in high school. So maybe you won’t trust my high rating for a friend, but I WILL share that even in her personal life Sylvia educates herself thoroughly on every subject she comes across, is very passionate and action oriented and is a born motivational speaker either when talking about her business or helping others improve their lives. So I say this to explain that this book is for real. She really knows her stuff. Even talking to her for years I still am confused about Medicare and just hope she’ll just tell me what to do when the time comes (even though in chapter 1 she says she won’t do that (but she might for me). This book is a great resource for putting all the confusing pieces together. I love her examples and personal anecdotes. I underlined half the pages. I’m not quite ready to retire yet, which is the perfect time to read and learn about your Medicare and SS options. Thank you Sylvia for putting this together for us!

Excellent tool for guidance in navigating all thing Medicare!
As an agent, Iâve seen firsthand how overwhelming Medicare can be for so many people. Between the alphabet soup of plans, shifting laws, and confusing enrollment periods, itâs easy to feel lost. Thatâs why I always recommend Prepare for Medicare by Sylvia Gordon. Itâs not just a bookâitâs a practical, no-nonsense guide that makes a real difference for anyone navigating this complex system.Sylvia has over 20 years of experience in the Medicare world, and it shows. She breaks things down in a way thatâs clear, honest, and easy to understandâsomething I truly appreciate when working with clients. The workbook format is especially helpful for staying organized. It keeps everything in one place so you donât have to shuffle through piles of notes or paperwork when itâs time to make a decision. This latest edition covers important updates like how the Inflation Reduction Act is changing Medicare Advantage and Part D plans, what retirees need to know about IRMAA, and the latest changes to Medicare Part B premiums. These updates alone make it worth picking up.I also love that Sylvia doesnât just explain the rulesâshe gives real-world context and answers the questions I hear from clients all the time. Whether someone is just becoming eligible, trying to figure out if they need an agent, or wondering how to help a spouse or family member, this book has them covered. Thereâs even a glossary to help decode the tricky Medicare terminology.I follow Sylvia on her âMedicare Mamaâ TikTok account, and I can say sheâs not only knowledgeable, but sheâs also incredibly relatable. She knows her stuff and knows how to explain it in a way people actually get.If you want your clientsâor yourselfâto feel confident and prepared when making Medicare choices, Prepare for Medicare is one of the best tools out there. I highly recommend keeping a copy on hand.
