Power supply
I really like this uninterruptible power supply for my dvr. The thing is way more compact than normal huge one and for how often the power goes out this thing is perfect. My power doesn’t how hardly ever go out and it doesn’t really go out for that long and with this thing running off of four 18650s and there’s tons of power to go around. I also like other things got multiple different hookup methods. I can basically run everything from this directly to the DVR and the camera is power supply and it’s plenty enough to keep it going for as long as I need. It seems to be built Mary decently also. This thing arrived on time and very well packaged and is at a very good price point so I highly recommend it

Adds UPS function to your cable modem or router.
This is a low-power DC backup unit that supplies a variety of DC voltages. You add your own 18650 batteries (Or wire some up externally) and it will deliver up to 18w across all ports. In my case, I have a 12V cable modem and a 5V RPI acting as my gateway router, which this device can accommodate. This device is far cheaper than a full-blown UPS and does not have anywhere near the overhead loss of a conventional UPS (20w typically). I like that it is built for Lithium (3.6v, not 3.2v) which has a much longer standby life than lead-acid. And that I can easily add runtime by wiring up external batteries (Expects 7.2V in a 2s2p configuration). One big caveat is the unorthodox battery orientation. You can see in the photo that they need to be mounted with the first two in one direction, and the next two in the other. This is very different from the typical zig-zag pattern we’re all used to and there aren’t coil springs on one side to remind you which is negative. Bottom Line: It is very easy to put batteries into this unit backwards, and the wiring is such that it would be catastrophic if you did. Also, there are no safety or regulatory certifications on the unit at all. I would not put this near anything flammable.Form: 5-stars (Unit is very compact and can sit under my modem)Function: 3-stars (Should be 50w max and a little safer)Value: 5-stars (Does a basic job for $35 if you include batteries)========Overall: 4-stars

Listing says batteries included and not included.
Confusing information on item listing and product packaging (see pictures). Disappointed that batteries were not included. That fact needs to be clearer.

Low Output Voltage
Quality:Cheapest option I found on Amazon, Like that I can source the batteries but while the 5VDC output is solid the 12VDC out of my unit is 11.7VDC with no load. I donât see any way of adjusting on the board. Luckily my application is tolerant to the low voltage. Â

Easy to use, bargain price
This is really a no fuss unit. It’s pretty straight forward and the design is fine. I’m really not sure all the critical reviews, as there are no complaints I have for the price. As a note, this unit is clearly listed as “without batteries”, you will need to get some 18650 or 11685 3.7V batteries (not button top) to power this unit. This should cost around $17-$22 more. But if you already have these batteries like I did, it helps save a few bucks….The unit supplies the voltage as described, and you are not limited to a single port, though the max total output is 18W. The indicator lights are easy and intuitive to read.1st light: Red = discharging and Green = connected to AC powerNext 4 lights = battery level. Easy peasy. The instructions that come with the unit are fair but brief. The casing build quality is fair for the price. The only design change I’d make is maybe some rubber feet on the bottom, or integrated casing screw mounts to mount to a wall. For the price, this is absolutely 5 stars.

Excellent as a power supply for development boards
As I’ve recently gotten into embedded development boards, I’ve been looking around for a variable power supply to add to my workbench. They’re generally pretty expensive and so I was hesitating to purchase one when the Mini DC UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply came across my data feed. At less than half the cost of the typical variable power supply, I thought I would give it a shot.First, let’s be clear: this is not a variable power supply. However, it has 2 of the most common voltage outputs that I use for my embedded systems (5v and 12v). It would be perfect if it had 3.3v as well, but it would also be perfect if it was a variable power supply at this price point… Also, it has an advantage over the typical power supply: it can output the supported voltages simultaneously. This is a useful feature in some instances where I may need multiple voltages for whatever I’m currently working on.So, how does it work as a bench power supply? Not bad! The multiple voltage output has already been useful for a stepper motor project I’m working on. The power draw is limited to 2A for 5V and 12V, but that’s more than enough for my needs. I haven’t tested the actual regulation at these voltages, but most boards are pretty forgiving and so I don’t anticipate any issues here. Also, the output doesn’t go negative, though I can simulate that by reversing the leads. This has been a great experiment that has worked well. The compact size of the unit fits well on my crowded workbench (and is also easy to lose there, but that’s a personal problem). I’ve managed to save a few bucks and have a power supply that meets my needs. Maybe this product wasn’t intended for my usage, but it’s merely a matter of marketing; this mini UPS is recommended for use as a general purpose power supply.

Batteries not included
It says both “built-in” lithium batteries and “batteries not included”. They are not included. But maybe “built-in” means you insert them inside, which is how all batteries are used. Also, there is a card included that says you need 1018L batteries, which don’t really exist. The listing says 18650 batteries are needed, which makes more sense. Very confusing. Needs to be clearer, and should probably include batteries in general. Otherwise, it’s a decent budget battery backup for smaller devices.
