Essentially perfect
This thing is an absolute game changer and a must have for MMOs. I used to have the original OEM chatpad for 360 and resigned myself to not having one when MS never came out with one for current controllers. It didn’t dawn on me until recently that the aftermarket would have a perfect replacement! I’m so glad to have one of these back on my controller.GoodCompatibility – This fits the current Series X controller and the Elite 2! Even better is you can charge the Elite 2 in it’s charging case with it on! My hats off to them, they really did their homework on this one.Backlighting – This is also a great feature that I wouldn’t want to be without. Green was a good choice. It’s not harsh, yet it’s very bright.Bad or not so badFit – Not really a complaint but the fit is probably 99.8% It snaps in there, but there’s the tiniest feeling flex or play in the fit. I’m really nitpicking though, as it’s still very securely on. This is probably as good as it gets with aftermarket.Quality – If I remember right, the original 360 chatpad controller felt like it used much better plastics. As you’d expect, this one is pretty smooth (in contrast to the controller), and a bit light and cheap feeling.Buttons – The buttons are solid rubber with kind of a cheap calculator feel (no tactility). In contrast, the original chatpad did have a click feel when depressing buttons and each key was made of hard plastic.If you have any need to type in game, this is the one to buy. Until MS releases an OEM version, I think this is as good as it gets. It’s very inexpensive and does everything it should.

Good bang for your buck!
Excellent fit, plug and play and ready to go. Originally was worried the buttons would be too small but it seems they are just right.I also found that the shape fits well allowing you to play games while also holding the controller quite easily.This backlit keyboard looks and feels great, buttons work well and has made couch gaming/surfing so much easier.The green color backlight really pops out and makes it easy to type.Definitely good value for the money, and highly recommend.

Edit: Company was good enough to offer a refund without request. Will order this one more time then edit review in case the one I bought was defective.Old review: Didnât work from the start. It beeps repeatedly when I press a key but nothing registers.

There has been a quite a few reviews here claiming that this product is an absolute god sent. Let me address this to you, this product isnt it. Allow me to go over the good the bad and the ugly.It was functional in game thats I didnt even expect to support keyboards and in some cases the AWSD even acted as analog keys in shooters much like on a regular PC keyboard. That was surprising but utterly useless because keys are too small, even for my thing and frail fingers. The brightness on the keys are exceptional. At first you will believe you have a quality product which is deceiving, but Ill explain that later. The lights on the keyboard will automatically shut off when not in used and restart again when using. Thats a very good thing especially since it will drain your controller’s battery. Quite quickly as well. (assuming you dont have it plugged in)The fit and finish, well, its a hit and miss. The finish is great. The buttons are all rubberized and not too sticky. the overall material is pretty average so dont expect top quality stuff. As long as you dont throw your controller, the keyboard will be fine. The fit of the apparatus is a miss. It will for sure fit into your controller but there is no *click* that lets you know that its been inserted properly. Ii fact, its hard to know when its officially inserted into your controller.So wheres the problem?Simple. Its stopped working. It happened after a week and i was not even using it it very heavely. So because of that I cannot recommend it. At all. You can go ahead and believe the other reviews if you like but based on my experience, this wasnt it, chief. SKIP!

Chat pad doesn’t work with headset like it’s supposed to. You can hear, however the microphone on headset does not work when chatpad is attached – not the headset as unplugged chat pad and all is fine and working. Have tried to contact seller for advice but they have made no contact to find a resolution. Won’t shop with them again. Don’t buy this product if you plan to use with a headset.

The keyboard itself is fine. Mechanical click feedback is nice, backlight is great, easy to install and use. Unfortunately Xbox One doesn’t support these things as well as the 360 did. Many streaming apps have their own built in and terrible text input interfaces. I thought this would be better but unless the app or game calls up the internal Xbox keypad, i out from this keyboard isn’t recognized. I don’t fault the product but unfortunately it’s not as useful as I hoped. It’s Microsoft’s fault for not requiring streaming apps to use the internal Xbox text input. And streaming apps’ fault for making the worst rookie text input interface dev blunders. It’s a shame.
