Customers say
Customers praise the laptop’s sturdy construction and screen quality, with one noting that games with high saturation look great. However, the RAM capacity receives criticism for not being 32 GB as advertised. The keyboard size and sound quality also draw mixed reactions, with several customers finding the keyboard small and the sound typical of laptops.

Ryno’s Stuff –
Needs extras.
An exceptional laptop. Screen is bright and clear..VIBRANT! On mine, at least, I do not have any light bleed at the edges. 4K on a laptop is quite an experience! So far, I’m loving it.Pros:Upward facing speakers – This has better audio than ANY MSI laptop I’ve owned (currently own four). It sounds fantastic. Not tinny or strange. Just typical laptop sound, but compared to other MSI laptops this is ten steps forward.Screen – 4K, BRIGHT, Vibrant…100% AdobeRGB. Can’t ask for more. Also, the matte finish is gorgeous. Screen is an A+.Trackpad – Very responsive. Built-in fingerprint scanner has not had any issues. Feels great.Build – Very sturdy construction. This will handle being taken everywhere. It’s also much thinner and quieter than all of my other MSI laptops.3070 = AWESOME. Shaves about 20% from 4k video rendering. I’ve not had a chance to play many games (waiting to get a second hard drive), but it plays Minecraft RTX like a boss. HahaMixed:Keyboard – Small. It’s also set in the middle of the laptop so it is kind of strange after using their gaming systems for years. I instinctively go to press the CTRL key, but it’s about an inch to the right of where it should be. Keys are also smaller than expected. There is absolutely enough room to have a number pad like all my other 15.6 MSI laptops. Strange that it is missing.720p Webcam – This is 2021…We’ve been using webcams daily for a year. 1080 @60fps would be ideal.Bluetooth – Signal is STRONG very close to the machine. No latency that I can tell. Step back about ten feet, though, and it gets kind of choppy. When I had it open, I didn’t pay attention to the antennae…Might be underneath a shield or something. I had some issues with another MSI because the antennae were stuck under a hard drive. After I moved them, signal improved dramatically. Hopefully that is the case here, too.Cons:Needs a slot for a 2.5 SATA HDD/SSD. Needs an SD/MicroSD slot. This is for CREATORS, right? Now I have to carry around a dongle and an external drive to keep my files. What’s up with that? Honestly, this should have come with a 4TB 2.5′ SATA HDD for storage, at least. I know they’re going for “thin” and “light,” but this needs to be a workhorse for a creator on the go.So what have I done so far? I’ve put in 32GB 3200 DDR4 RAM. This is a very peppy machine. Also going to toss in an “inexpensive” 2TB SSD for internal storage. Taking the case apart is really easy. The clips pop right out, too. Took about five minutes to put in the new RAM.Overall, this is a pretty positive experience. I’m kind of in love with this machine, really. Even with the flaws (WHY TAKE THE SD SLOT OFF THIS ONE?!?) this is still the fastest and quietest machine I’ve ever used. Well worth the money, even if I did have to spend more on extra RAM, SSD, and USB hub. You get what you pay for…..a LOT. Haha

What an absolute monster
Absolute monster of a machine. I never thought laptops could perform that well. If anyone is considering a desktop replacement that they can take on the road, look no further! Unfortunately at time of writing, this kit is EOL and it’s a shame that MSI hasn’t introduced an 11gen or AMD replacement for it.Pros:1. Build and comfort: build quality is solid making it feel robust, but still fairly compact for its size. Keyboard is best in class. Feels solid, comfortable with good key travel and resistance. I prefer this to what Dell XPS is offering, and it’s miles ahead of flimsy Razer keyboard.2. Battery and heat. Battery life is ok under light load, there are various power saving modes that you can take advantage of. When gaming or video or photo editing, you need to keep it plugged in. Under load, you can definitely hear the fans, but it’s doesn’t feel annoying at all. MSI is offering some sort of noise cancelling solution, and also if you have a set of NC headphones they eliminate the noise completely. Heat is also fairly moderate. Fans do their job and disperse the heat away from the laptop. Keyboard and palm rest get barely warm under load.3. Performance. Games absolutely fly with RTX3070. 4K gaming at 60FPS on a laptop was unheard of, but now it’s fairly straight forward. Photo editing is quick and seamless. I don’t have any hard data, but it feels just a tad bit slower than my i9 desktop.4. Upgradability. both RAM sticks are replaceable. SSD can also be swapped out and there is also additional slot for secondary SSD, that can be configured as RAID or JBOD.5. Ports: 2xUSB, 2xUSBC, HDMI, and LAN – what else can you ask for! Dell thinking they can get away with just a pair of USBC slots is one of the reasons I went with MSICons1. Form factor: It’s not as frameless as advertised, so it’s significantly larger than XPS15.Hardware: 10th Gen i7 is not the best CPU for this. I think new AMD CPU’s would be better option for heat/battery life, but there is no laptop on the market that would have 4K screen, RTX3 series, and AMD chip.2. Screen: for some reason 4K option is not touch screen and while IPS LCD is good, it’s dwarfed by OLED offerings from Gigabyte and Razer.3. USB-C charging. it’s not saying anywhere but you need 100W PD port to be able to USB charge the laptop. This can be a problem on airplanes, which are limited to 75W . It would have been nice to at least have an option to extend the battery life while traveling by connecting it to lower power outlet.4. One of disassembly screws is sealed, possibly voiding warranty if you want to upgrade.
