Eye opening!!
“Network Basics for Hackers” offers an introductory yet thorough understanding of computer networks, with a focus on providing prospective hackers and penetration testers with the fundamental information required to attack and secure networks. The book covers networking’s key protocols, architectures, and practices, with a focus on cybersecurity. Despite dealing with technical material, the author makes the language understandable. It’s ideal for beginners who might be daunted by the nature of network engineering or security texts. The book begins by introducing network security ideas, allowing readers to understand the need of securing their own networks while also understanding offensive strategies. It provides guidance on identifying vulnerabilities and minimizing hazards.

Seems to be written by AI for easy content generation
It baffles me that this book has received five stars. It quickly becomes evident that sections of the writing seem AI-generated, and the authorâs overly complex style compounds the problem. The authorâs convoluted style overwhelms any value it might hold, burying what should be simple technical insights under layers of analogies, gender references, and needless complexity. A few pages offer some value while the rest feels like padding. What did I just read???? I regret spending time on this.

Interestingly Written Book On Network Basics
Though I wasn’t anticipating the flowery language (“Think of it as the brass section, powerful and directive, steering the music with intent.”, “In the intricate dance of network communication, routers, switches, and hubs play roles as essential yet often overlooked performers.”) which perhaps made this a more enjoyable read and got the information across on the nature of network basics. Will reccomend.

Way too flowery language
There’s not much substance here. It feels like the author is taking a class in creative writing and this is his thesis. If you’re reading for entertainment and you want a “story” about how networking works with lots of similes and romanticization, then this is the book for you.If you want to learn about networking in a direct, clear, and concise manner, then don’t waste your time or money here.

Cybersecurity Know How
This book is very interesting and informative for all who read it. The book breaks information down for a person to understand even if theyâre not knowledgeable with networking skills. It informs the individual on how they need to stay vigilant in protecting themselves against these cyber threats. Cybersecurity is one of the biggest challenges to keep us safe while navigating the internet.

Long but informational
This book is great for those of us that have to access the internet for a slough of reasons but arenât as tech savvy as the younger generation are. If you are interested in learning the ins and outs as well as terminology I had no idea about, this book is for you.

Terribly written and poor information.
This could have been a very good book, however, the author is unbearable to read. The information presented is so convoluted with analogies, similes, and “gender based relevances” that it is nearly impossible to deduce the most important information. This book contains about 30 pages of relevant information and the rest is just filler words. Very disappointed, waste of money, and more importantly, time.

Great book to understand network functions
The author breaks down complex topics with clear, practical examples. It is an excellent resource to understand the networking from a hackerâs perspective. It provides a solid foundation for ethical hackers and penetration testers, particularly in understanding network vulnerabilities and exploiting them through practical tools.
