Customers say
Customers find the DJ chair has a professional look, is well-built, and works well for string bass playing, with adjustable height that sits at the perfect level. The assembly instructions receive mixed feedback – while some find it easy to put together, others note there are no enclosed directions. Comfort and stability also get mixed reviews, with some finding it comfortable and stable during performance, while others report discomfort and stability issues. Portability is another mixed aspect, with customers noting it’s not bulky to carry but too heavy to move around easily.

Excellent for the gigging musician and practicing at home.
I ordered this on my wife’s Amazon account. Delighted that I did…….I received this chair two days ago. I assembled it (very easy) and used it at a 3-hour gig last night. It was very comfortable. Today I’ve used it for over two hours while working on some new songs with my guitar. Again, very comfortable. I’ve been looking for a comfortable and sturdy chair for my solo guitar gigs for several weeks. I’m really glad I found this one on Amazon. Don”t listen to all the whining and complaining on here. This chair is very portable. Fold’s up and fits easily in the trunk of my car. You can remove the seat and back if you need to. They’re easy and fairly quick to put back on if you want to remove them. You might not even need the back. Depends on the individual. Also, you DO NOT need any tools to remove parts or put them back on. I removed the back (which BTW I find very comfortable) so that’s it’s not bulky to carry into the coffeehouses and bars I play. Took me about a minute to re-attach the back once I got inside. Even when fully assembled, it’s pretty easy to carry. Again, even easier in tight places if you remove the back…………..Also, this chair and it’s competitors all receive similar praises and complaints. All I can address is the Odyssey DJ Chair. I’m very glad I bought it. I’m 6-1 and about 205lbs. The chair is very comfortable for me. I can adjust it to full bar stool height, chair height, and also in-between. The foot rest works great for me also. It’s definitely a very well-built and sturdy chair. No matter what height I adjust it to, I feel secure sitting on it. No wobble and very solidly on the ground………In regards to Amazon, service was again superb. I figured I’d keep the cost down by just going the free “normal ground shipping,” which for this item suggested 12-14 days. I received it in five days. …….And I would definitely recommend this chair to others.

Nice stool.
Easy to assemble. Several settings for correct height. Well built but, Not too heavy. It helped me with my back ache. The seat needs a bit more padding as sitting for an hour or more gets less comfortable.

Great Washboard Player Chair
I have played washboard with the Philadelphia Jug Band since 1962. We are an amateur group but have given a host of concerts over the years, played at major and minor folk festivals and have 2 CDs. I usually play standing up as my board is a double sided with two different corrugated metal surfaces on which I tap, scratch, slide, scrape, and etc. with thimbles or metal or plastic brushes . Thus I do not play it as a vest which is now customary. This chair is ideally suited to my needs and far better than a regular stool or chair. It was introduced to me by musicians in another jug band and I am grateful to them.Steven Miller, Doylestown, PA

Small Footprint – Very Sturdy
As other reviewers have said the back support is sort of far away but the way I look at it – what musician is leaning back on the back support while performing. That would look pretty lame. That said, this seat is extremely sturdy and just the right size for most butts (small and large) to get comfortable on. It’s pretty small in size compared to the competition and as for the price, I would say this is the best quality I have found for the money. …and have looked at them all. : )

ok chair if you upgrade the seat pad…
I’m surprised at how at how heavy the chair is, which is good. I’m 6’2″ I weigh 240 lbs and it’s very sturdy and lots of height adjustment. I have two complaints though. The back legs don’t lock into place and if you lean forward they want to fold forward. I don’t care for this and it seems like it’s geared for portability, which is odd to me because it’s heavy and that’s the only foldable part. I see people complain about no instructions for assembly, but with even a small amount of common sense you should be able to assemble easily. It took me literally 3 mins to assemble no tools required. My second complaint is the ass pad is small. All in all I’d buy again I feel like it’s what I needed for playing bass for long periods of time. Buy it it’s fine. **update** I have had the chair a couple days and I don’t like it as much now. The pad is too thin and too small in circumference for me. I found a drum throne here on Amazon for 11$ and I’m going to try and replace the pad and if it doesn’t work I’ll return all of it. After sitting for 30 min. I’m in pain. A larger pad and more padding should do the trick.

Double Bass Stool
I am about 5â11 and use this to practice double bass. It is very comfortable and secure. I wish the foot holder was adjustable but it didnât take too long to find a comfortable position to play in. A little pricey but itâs build like a tank.

I noticed one other reviewer who bought it for the same reason I did, and my review will be similar. I use it as a comfortable height-adjustable stool for astronomy to sit at my big Dobsonian telescope and look at the sky for extended periods.Firstly, it’s a solid and quality-made piece of furniture no matter what you use it for. It’s heavier than it looks and the tightening screws are actually all heavy bolts that inspire confidence in its safety and rigidity. It comes apart and folds up nicely for easy transport. The backrest might seen unnecessary, but it’s actually really cool to be able to sit back comfortably when you need a rest from whatever you’re working on. Ditto for the foot rests.Specifically addressing its use for astro, I will agree with the other reviewer that adjusting it on-the-fly in the dark is a little tedious and cumbersome with the screw-bolts. For this specific purpose, it would be a bit neater (and would have got 5 stars) if it had some sort of quick-release thingie to let you adjust the height with less time and effort to not interrupt your star viewing. Also specifically for astro, I wish the stool’s lowest setting were just a wee bit lower. When I have the scope aimed near the horizon, very low in the sky, I find myself still having to lean forward and look down to see in the eyepiece and my back complains a bit when I have to do it for too long. Conversely though, getting all the height you need when the scope is aimed higher or straight up is a real bonus and make it worth the price. These astro-related shortcomings are certainly not deal breakers though and are outweighed by the useful attributes and the advantages it gives me. I still very much like the stool and am pleased that I bought it. Recommend.

Not the best chair/stool I sat on. But it does the job, it looks good, and it’s portable and easy to set up.

Acheté pour jouer de la guitare. Banc trop petit. Inconfortable. Appuie-pieds trop haut. Dossier trop éloigné. Pas de possibilité dâajuster la hauteur du dossier. Franchement mal conçu.
