Great remote for a TV with a Roku and a Sound bar
Decided to replace the cable box on one of my TVs with the Roku Xfinity app. However, that TV has a sound bar connected with an optical cable so Roku remote was unable to control the volume. I did a google search and found where a Roku support site recommended this remote as a potential solution for configurations like mine so I purchased this remote.I programmed the remote in about 10 minutes. My TV is an Insignia with Roku built-in and luckily there was a predefined code for that set-up. For my sound bar, I used the “learning” mode and was able to get that set-up in just a couple of minutes by using the remote for the sound bar.I then tested it out. The sound bar functionality worked perfectly. The Roku TV setup worked fine except the power button didn’t turn the TV off & on and the “A” button didn’t go to Amazon Prime. No problem. For TV power, I just went into manual mode and set it up by using the Roku remote. For the “A” button, I manually set it up by following the instructions on how to customize the “app” buttons. Very easy, worked like a charm.This remote is a big improvement over the Roku remote. It’s still pretty small but much more comfortable in my hand than the Roku device. The buttons have a good feel to them and are laid out well.Not sure what is causing the negative reviews because it worked perfectly for me. I highly recommend it. I’ll update this review if I run into any significant problems down the line with the device.

Near perfect replacement for my Roku Ultra remote!
I bought URC 7935 specifically for it’s simplicity and for the “C-Learning” function. URC 7945 has more buttons, but it does not have the “C-Learning” function for some unknown reason? It requires 4 AAA batteries (not included)! I like the plastic free packaging! The URC 7935 is missing Roku programmable button 1 & 2!This universal programmable remote replaced my Roku Ultra remote, my Samsung UN49RU8000FXZA TV remote, and my Logitech Z-680 5.1 speakers remote. Actually I lost my Logitech remote years ago, and I have been using my Direc-TV remote that was already programmed for my speakers even though I cancelled satellite TV years ago!It’s primary purpose is Roku streaming, so that is what I programmed first. The manual says it’s already programmed for Roku by default, but it didn’t work. I had to press and hold (red) Power & Home and then press and hold *Options to make the ring turn purple, and then it worked. Easy, but I ended up doing this several times during the set-up process.Next, I set up my external speakers that are connected to my TV via Toss-link optical cable. I had to press and hold Volume Up & Volume down, and then enter code 21415 (the 2nd code) for my Logitech Z-680 5.1 speakers. After pressing mute, it worked perfectly. The ring turns green when I’m controlling my speakers. This worked perfectly for my volume and mute controls which is the primary reason for replacing my original Roku remote!Next, I set up my TV. I had to press and hold (black) Power & Back and then press and hold Replay (let go when the TV turned off) for my Samsung TV to make the ring turn yellow, and then it worked. The TV Power and Input button works natively, and I can use the ring to move left and right to select the input. After that, the ring will not control the TV! Pressing any part of the ring changes back to Roku! Only the input, power and channel up & down buttons work. I don’t use local channels so this is mostly useless. I use the up & down arrows to change Internet channels, and the ring will not work for this!URC 7935 is a near perfect replacement for my Roku Ultra remote, but “personal shortcut” buttons 1 & 2 are missing! I bought it anyway thinking I could use “C-Learning” to program the Netflix button for button #1. I have tried for over an hour, and it does not work. I am visually and hearing impaired. I use button #1 to turn on and off subtitles. It works perfectly on my original Roku remote. I have also tried to “learn” this button on the channel up button, but it does not work there either. I did successfully use this same method to program VUDU for my TV arrow up, Play (arrow) for my TV arrow down, and H for my TV select buttons, so now I can change TV Internet channels with this remote. Why can’t I program N for my Roku button #1? Better yet, why is this button missing in the first place?This universal programmable remote replaced my Roku Ultra remote with the exception of Button #1 to turn on and off subtitles. It replaced my external speakers remote with the exception of the power button which my Direc-TV remote did not have either, so I just leave them on all the time. It also mostly replaced my TV remote. The remote that came with my Samsung TV sucked so I replaced it with one that actually has buttons! I still need the TV remote, but only for TV setting, and special features such as the web browser. 99.9% of the time, I only need just this one URC 7935 remote now.

Great remote!
After switching from cable to a streaming TV service, I was back to using two remotes: my Roku remote, and a big Bose universal remote for my old Bose sound system and TV. The new remote is compact and controls everything. It was easy to set up for my Samsung TV, Roku device, and Bose system. After setting it up, the power button did not turn on the sound system, but it worked for volume adjustment. But then I trained the power button by using the old remote, and now I have just one remote to use for everything. Note the following from the box: Not compatible with: Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, and Roku Streaming Stick.

I soldi che costa li vale tutti.Veramente fantastico, fatto molto bene, sia di estetica, che di materiali e personalizzabile al 100%Averlo acquistato prima!Ho un tv samsung serie 7 55″ e come tutti i telecomandi samsung anche il mio fa pietà, troppi tasti, piccoli e tutti attaccati, e quando devi premere per qualsiasi cosa, devi sfondare il tasto per farlo andare. Ma con questo stupendo telecomando ora non mi viene più il nervoso. Straconsigliato.

Mittlerweile haben sich durch TV, Fire TV-Stick und Stereoanlage bei mir 3 Fernbedienungen angesammelt die allesamt immer um Platz auf meinem kleinen Nachttischchen ringen. Ich wollte diese durch eine halbwegs minimalistische, aufs notwendigste reduzierte Universalfernbedienung ersetzen.Wichtig ist hierbei bei der Programmierung die mitgelieferte Beschreibung zu lesen. Ohne findet man sich einfach nicht zurecht, da die Funktionen der kompakten Fernbedienung sehr umfangreich sind. Zuvor müssen aber noch 4x AAA Batterien eingelegt werden, welche leider nicht mitgeliefert werden. Danach konnte ich aber alle Tasten anlernen.Zum Anlernen der Tasten mittels Fire TV-Stick muss ich sagen, dass ich es nicht geschafft habe diese 1:1 zu übernehmen, da der Fire TV-Stick nicht über ein Infrarot Signal mit der Fire TV Fernbedienung kommuniziert sondern vermutlich durch Bluetooth oder WLAN. Über einen Umweg ist dies aber trotzdem möglich, denn ich hatte das Glück, dass mein TV beim Umschalten auf den Fire TV-Stick Eingang die Tasten der TV-Fernbedienung so umstellt, dass auch der Fire TV-Stick mit dieser bedient werden kann. Somit konnte ich die Funktionen meiner TV-Fernbedienung wieder an die Universalfernbedienung anlernen und nun auch meinen Fire TV-Stick in vollem Umfang nutzen. Diese Funktion sollten meines Wissens nach fast alle halbwegs aktuellen Flachbild TV-Geräte unterstützen. Einfach ausprobieren.Alles in Allem konnte ich meine 3 Fernbedienungen durch diese kompakte und übersichtliche Universalfernbedienung ersetzen und bin nun wirklich sehr zufrieden. Auch wegen der schönen Tastenbeleuchtung und dem hübschen, farblich anpassbaren LED-Ring bin ich sehr angetan. Daher kann ich das Produkt sehr empfehlen!
