    Excellent and well priced
I accidentally purchased a Pioneer single cd player, and noticed the parent company was Onkyo. So, I ordered an Onkyo 6 cd carousel player for around $60 less than the Pioneer. So far, I am finding it performs well. My only gripe is that it is impossible to do all the functions without the remote. I am not a luddite, but I hate all remotes except for the tv. (I have 8 of the damn things now and it annoys me that they cannot be combined. Ugh.) Anyhow, on top of having to use the remote, you cannot easily read what buttons there are on the unit. I have poor eye sight, so ymmv on that one lol. Overall, my experience so far is “I would recommend as good value, good product.” Should that change, I’ll update.

    What I was hoping for.
I had this unit playing CD’s 15 minutes after unpacking, straightforward and simple. Only three outputs to be concerned with, two RCA jacks for analog audio out to my EQ, and an optical out to my receiver but if you don’t have an EQ it’s either/or. The tray moves quickly and silently and three test CD’s including a home made MP3 disc played perfectly in different slots and the sound is honest and rich. The only thing I miss is a jog dial for track selection but the “folder” buttons are just as easy. The display can go from bright to dimmer to dimmest, and you can set the track length to count up or down. It’s a big machine at over 17″ deep (a full 18″ including cable plug space at the back) and it does hang off of the front of my back-enclosed cabinet a little but the feet are recessed two inches so not a problem. I’m hoping it will last as long as my previous Sony (15 years) but for now I’m very happy with this unit.

    Nice unit – nice price
Because I always have had high end audio equipment I was skeptical about buying this unit. I needed to replace my Technics SL-P550, a superb unit from around 1988 – finally started transport problems. I’m happy to find that the changer, in addition to the convenience of being able to load and listen to 6 CD’s uninterrupted, this unit sounds fine. It lacks the features of my SL-P550, but then again, so do all the other CD players currently on the market. If you have the room for this unit and need a CD player, I’d recommend buying it.

    CD playback issues
I originally purchased this multi-cd changer as it had the 6 disc capacity, while others available only could handle 5. For a while, the unit worked well and the only drawback was the additional depth needed to accommodate a larger tray. Which meant the changer extended a bit from my stereo cabinet. At first, every so often, after rotating to the next CD the playback would be afflicted with horedous skips. By opening the tray and reseating the disc, the playback could be corrected. Over time, these occurrences became more common. I believe the fundamental issue is that the rotation of the tray is poorly engineered and inconsistent in accurately aligning the cd for playback.Bottom line, with this issue getting significantly more prevalent, I have replaced this unit in my home entertainment system. And plan to donate it to the Goodwill. Since in good conscience I cannot re-sell it online as I normally would do.

    Great quality 6-CD player!
I’ve had this Onkyo for 5 months, using it about 2-3 time per week. (I paired it with an Onkyo receiver.) The sound is great and the carousel works perfectly. I had to replace a tray-stacked CD player that died with a CD inside (had to take it apart to retrieve the CD inside – that was fun). I love how I can change some CD’s in the carousel while listening to the one that is playing. And of course, how I can choose play-back options, like from 1 to 6, or start on a specific CD, or have random play-back, etc. I highly recommend this.

    Replaced Sony
My Onkyo arrived from Amazon well packaged and on time. After reading instructions, the set up was simple as was checking the function and going over the features. The diminished volume on compressed Bluetooth signals requires readjustment but then I’m not Rocknrolling anymore. Overall very satisfied and encouraging new users to read instructions before set up and use.

    Very good player
It is a very good CD player. Sound is excellent . Only CONS : Manual is not very clear with the instructions on how to put several different tracks on the CDs. Also , you have to find out how to put a CD on tray number one., although the trays are numbered, you have to look very closely to find out where the tray number is, as it is black, the same color as the tray. On the other hand, it works very well.

This was the perfect fit for our older stereo system. We were able to repurpose and keep something that was dear to us just by upgrading with this piece, it saved our stereo system!

Irgendwie stimmt hier alles: Preis, Klang, Bedienbarkeit, Geräteverhalten, …
