Very good book with some excellent insights
This book was well written and concise about this topic. I found it to be like most dummies books with a well thought out plan to help the reader get to the goal they are attempting to learn with the purchase of the books topic.

NOT WORTH THE PENNY IT COST!
This book is not up to the standards of the For Dummies series of books. It more like a pdf copy of a power point presentation. A trivial and trite writing style that irritates rather than enlightens. It is just a rehash of every boring corporate training session you have had to endure. Don’t waste your time.

Get this if you are clueless about basic human interaction
Networking is all about building relationships. If you can’t muster up a basic relationship with the people you work with, then go ahead and get this book. Otherwise buy something else.

Good stuff
This book really didn’t break any new ground, but then again, it’s a “Dummies” book. I made an oral presentaiton out of it and it was a smash hit!

So you want to be a success?
One of the essential ingredients to the success of a business is the owner’s ability AND WILLINGNESS to use his or her network effectively. Donna Fisher is the master teacher of the power of networking – something many people don’t understand or are not even aware of. Professional Networking for Dummies is one of several powerful books tbat Donna Fisher has written on this subject. It should be a must read for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.

This book is a thick reference guide to networking in all shapes and formats. It is factual and detailed as you would expect from a good basic primer on networking. However, it suffers a little from trying to be all things to all people, and being stuffed full of detail. I found that the book structure didn’t flow naturally and it wasn’t as easy as I expected to be able to convert the theory into practical next steps for my particular situation. If you are wanting a book to get you started networking, then it is worth a read. If you want a book which will help you specifically find a new job or generate referrals from networking, then you may like to look at other books on networking – such as the 29% solution by Ivan Misner. The book is very light on how you can use online networking skills and activities within your networking.
