Well-built, versatile and plenty fast drive!
If you are like me, you probably have a bunch of thumb drives laying around. However, I don’t have many that are USB-C and this is the only one that is both USB-A and USB-C. For me, this is the perfect bridge! USB-A is not going away anytime soon but USB-C is definitely the future.I ordered this drive specifically because I can use it with my iPad, laptop, desktop and more. When I opened the package I was quite impressed with the quality and durable feel of the drive. The lids that cover the drive could easily be the weak point but they are not. The hinges feel strong and the caps close positively. It has a beautiful mat grey finish. All the aesthetics aside, if it doesn’t work good, who cares. This one works good for me! I’ve used it to move photos and videos from my iPad to my laptop and several other uses. I’ve not experienced any compatibility or read issues. I did test it using CrystalDiskMark. On my laptop in both USB-C and USB-A ports I saw sequential read speeds of about 335 MB/s and write speeds of about 325 MB/s. The rated maximum of the drive is supposed to be 450/400 respectively. A lot of things can affect read/write speeds. I’m not surprised it didn’t reach the advertised speeds and honestly I’m not disappointed with it.

Great quality & versatile connectivity
The first thing you’ll notice upon taking this out of the packaging is the durable, all metal construction. I particularly like the small magnets in each port coverâmakes opening/closing feel snappy yet secure. Probably the best/most important feature of this drive is the dual USB-C/USB-A ports for connectivity; you can plug this into the latest smartphones or a decade-old desktop PC without issue. I’ve yet to run this through CrystalDiskMark to get a real-world speed reading but it’s performed well enough so far transferring a few dozen large movies/ISO files. One important reminder re speed: make sure you’re connecting the drive to a 3.1/3.2 USB port for optimal speeds; also very large files will tend to plateau in terms of transfer speed as with most thumb drives/SSDs. The only con that comes to mind with this drive is the lack of any opening for a lanyard to loop through however that’s more of a mild inconvenience. All in all this drive is a solid choice if you’re looking for the convenience of the dual USB ports in a durable yet sleek form factor.

Works right with no drivers required on WIN 11
Received this drive and booted up my desktop and inserted it into a USB 3.x slot. The system had no issues finding or recognizing the drive. The first test was me doing a backup of my C drive with another software product. The drive performed very well with no issues at all. I like the duel connectivity with both USB A and C. I did notice the casing on the drive did get fairly warm after that backup. The unit I will state DOES NOT feel cheap like some of these other manufacturers drives. 256gb on a small drive like this is more than enough for most people. I did not have to download or install any device drivers. I will also state I did not try and connect it to my phone or any mobile device yet. The unit was apparently factory formatted with exFAT. Overall this device so far has performed great and other than getting a little warm after the backup, I think itâs great A+

10x faster than USB3.
I saved money and bought the iPhone with only 128gb of memoryâ¦then I started shooting videos and discovered my mistake. I tried streaming to a USB3 thumb drive but had no luckâ¦too slow. I looked at SSD drives but most were bulky, often requiring a special MagSafe holder. This little SSD drive may only have 256gb of memory but that triples my original capacity and writes at a speed 10x faster than USB3. Itâs a bit larger than a jump drive but much smaller than most external SSD drives (see picture where Iâve photographed it next to a 256gb thumb drive). I particularly like how it has both USB-C and USB-A connectors so I can go directly between my camera/phone and PC. Was not able to use it on my older iPad Air even with a USB-C to Lightning adapter. Error message said it drew too much power. Please note it does get a bit hot but not objectionably so. A good choice where writing speed is needed. Recommended.

My Go-To for Extra Storage
I recently got the RAOYI 256GB USB C External SSD, and it’s quickly become my favorite way to expand storage for all my devices. It’s truly a versatile little drive.I primarily use it with my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for offloading ProRes video files, and it works seamlessly. The dual USB 3.2 and Type-C connectors are incredibly convenient; I can plug it into my Android tablet, PC, or even my Linux machine without needing different adapters. The advertised speed of up to 450MB/s feels accurate for my daily file transfers, making quick work of moving large documents or photos. It’s super portable, barely bigger than a standard thumb drive, so it just slips right into my pocket. Knowing I have 256GB of extra, fast storage readily available for any of my devices gives me a lot of peace of mind. It’s well-built and feels sturdy enough for frequent travel. I’m very happy with this compact powerhouse.

Incompatible with my printer but worked with computer
This USB was incompatible with my printer (printer didn’t recognize it) but did work with my computer. The device itself seems well made with metal more than plastic.
