Totally worth the $200
This controller is absolutely astounding when it comes to performance. Extremely solid build quality with the overall feel being seamless. The buttons are tactile and satisfying, almost zero delay in response time, and the wireless connectivity is flawless. The Hall effect joysticks have a very smooth feel to it and I havenât experienced any stick drift whatsoever. The 4 back paddles are placed perfectly, and I really appreciate the two mappable buttons on top for claw grip, as I find that very comfortable to use when playing Fortnite. The mouse clicks are one of the best features on this controller as well. I love the design of it, and Razer synapse makes it easy to remap the buttons and customize dead zones and such. Very good controller!!

Bought this item last year to play a few games on steam with controller support. The controller is light, sleek, easy to hook up and use, the action in it is amazing, the battery lasts a long while, I am thoroughly pleased with this controller. In fact, I loved it so much that when my brother-in-law needed a new controller I gave him mine, and just bought another. I’ve used dozens of controllers over the years. My initial foray into gaming was on consoles, so I have a lot of practical experience using controllers on console and PC. The price tag made me leery initially, but it’s clear as day when you start using the controller why it’s priced where it is. Worth the extra expense to have a controller that will not only be reliable, but work well with almost any game you throw at it.

Ok, Out of the box I immediately set deadzones to zero. Upon checking found there is an inherent centering issue that causes heavy drift reading with no way to recalibrate.Pros:Feel of buttons are great, tactile, responsive, good placement. The âfeelâ of the controller is one of the bests. The trigger locks to enable a mouse click tactile pull is satisfying to say the least. All these features are great enough for me to over look other features not given at this price range ie – tension adjustment, full button mapping, lackluster app interface, polling rate to name a few.Major con:However, having out of box centering issues this high is just kind of a hard one to look over. All HE sticks do have centering performance concerns. I just wish this would center closer to 0,0 (I know itâs impossible to get true 0,0 reading). But no matter what I do, direction I flick it, it re-centers back to these values. Iâd have to widen the dead zones, sacrificing a substantial amount responsiveness which defeats the purpose of buying a performance controller. Maybe Iâll try to exchange and hope I get something better, but if itâs worse, itâs a full refund. Will update review if I do. But not to hopeful as more research, this is a more common than a one off situation.UPDATE: GOT A NEW REPLACEMENT (3.5-3.9 Stars max)Firmware updater released on PC. But now can be updated on Xbox App however the app sucks. (Edit 2025 new update no longer supports Xbox app firmware update must use pc anpp again..wtf tired of this company) Upon launching app a progress bar starts loading a percentage w/ the message do not unplug. No indication itâs updating. Apparently it did. But while I couldnât verify if itâs the latest firmware. I already lost confidence in the software(& probably the Razer brand too) and updated through PC anyway. Major gripe about the PC updater: it doesnât confirm if you already have the latest firmware. It just flashes and installs⦠is this freeware from github or a hardware gaming company w a $200 controller? SmhPros: quality weight and feel, rgb(if you even care for this?), tactile mouse click triggers, a really decent clicky gated d-pad (better than most), a lot of extra decently placed buttons that feel good, adjustable haptic, multiple profile config saves, easy quick instant button mapping. Carrying case.Cons: app, firmware update required, updated app didnât include a calibration option, Outdated 2020 Hall Effect tech used in 2024 when newer VRS is more economical, durable, accurate, and energy efficient. No adjustable tension for a $200 price tag. Only two extra plastic thumb sticks, why not just throw in two identical pairs? Theyâre plastic anyways. You still need a dongle. Face buttons could feel âmushyâ to some, And I could be wrong, but I donât think itâs Bluetooth as they advertise. Size, if only it was a couple centimeters larger it would probably rest perfectly in most hands. Itâs not switch pro small but with back paddle placement it can be noticeable.Biggest con. Razer as a company is incompetent. Do not buy if you do not have a windows pc. Razer is company who creates an Xbox controller with an Xbox app, but does not push firmware updates through the Xbox. You have to download a separate software on a PC then update firmware through there cuz if you donât, it wonât allow you to use the Xbox app! This is after a year of use, and while hardware is ok, Iâve grown more tired with this company as itâs a controller with inconveniences that start to pile up which is no excuse at this price range. Save your money.

Great controller
I love this controller. No connection issues and it’s very fast. I did have to spend a few minutes updating the firmware. You will have to have the razer app but you can use it to change lighting, button keybinds, profiles, etc. The extra buttons are highly customizable and can be mapped to many different things-such as keyboard keys- through the razer app.The major complaint I have is the d-pad is very annoying. It is very floaty. I use it as an ability use and not movement so I am always hitting the wrong part of it. For 200 dollars it should of came with an interchangeable normal d-pad. Another minor complaint is the back shoulder bumpers only have 2 settings.This controller is on the lighter side. However it does not rattle and the mechanical clicking buttons is very satisfying. It does not have any grip made onto it so I would recommend purchasing a sleeve for it.Overall this is a great and reliable controller. If not for the d-pad I would 5 star.

Iâm happy with this controller. For me the Xbox Elite version is the perfect controller for me but the build quality (sticky bumper and stick drift) had me looking for alternatives. This Razer controller has hall effect sticks which wont get stick drift and has good build quality.Coming from the EliteV2 the shape of this Razer controller will take some getting used to, but once you are used to it, it feels good in your hands. At first I didnt like the back paddles but after some time I got used to then and like them now. Overall very happy with this controller.

Great controller but the right bumper occasionally sticks. Hall affect sticks are great, buttons are placed in good spots and feel great. Other than the right bumper, no complaints.
