The sound quality is good, the remote control works great, the clarity of the sound is great, the size is exactly what I envisioned, it connects pretty easily. It’s overall good, and my brother loves it.

Awesome boost in volume and clarity.
This was a great purchase for us. Bought a new Fire TV but was disappointed in the sound.Turns out most TVs now are weak on audio for a lot of ‘weak’ reasons. By weak I specifically mean difficulty in making out dialogue to the point where my Mom had to turn on and use subtitles despite not being aurally impaired (apart from age decline).Enter this soundbar. Instantly improved clarity. Also literally 3x the max volume and more dynamic range.Some notes:-Though it comes with its own remote (no AAA batteries) you can in TV Settings add the bar as a Bluetooth device. Fire TV and others have a Bluetooth transmitter — some tv’s only have a receiver.You turn up the sb on the remote, then connect tv to sb. Now you can control volume with your TV remote!The sb remote still works btw which is handy to adjust volume from somewhere else wo taking your TV remote.- Do you need a sb if you have some powered computer speakers?They will work using the Headphone jack but only put out about 10-30W whereas the sb is 100w. (I know there’s more to sound than that but keeping it simple). I tried it both ways and found the computer speakers way underpowered. I felt the sb performed better via optical cable hookup.- Some feel that hooking the sb via optical cable is old tech and HDMI arc is better – which this sb doesn’t support. I found it more than adequate via OC.- Limited settings: you can’t adjust for treble or bass. The sb has its own equalizer that you can’t override.- Dolby and Surround is also disabled same reason.- The sb has a subwoofer out port which may be a good separate purchase add-on for some. By separating the bass out of the main sb, you may get even better dialogue clarity or separation since bass muddies overall sound if not properly managed.You can only control the subwoofer using the sb remote.- I found that I have to frequently adjust the volume while watching as it goes to loud – soundtrack music e.g.- then soft – conversation. An auto loudness control feature would be a great improvement for next gen models.You can try to modify sound settings before you add in the SB. Once you match with the SB you aren’t able to make any audio setting changes except bluetooth delay.In my case it didn’t seem to make a difference even though I left TV Speakers on.- The printed directions are almost microscopic. I don’t get at all why makers cheap out on this. Its such an obviously good idea to have large, clear, diagrammed, well written instructions and cheap to do.- The sb automatically connects to Bluetooth when you turn tv on – which is nice.

Works well and the right $
I read the reviews and trusted them. They are accurate, overall good sound upgrade to any room with only the TV speakers. BASIC setup. Not tweaking with EQ, just plug in via optical cable and auto senses the rest. Itâs no Bose, or even Yamaha. But for the deal I got, ($39) itâs good. And it actually produces a decent low end along with the miss and highs. It can get a bit muddy but thatâs a $40 bar vs a $200 bar.

Disappointed 1 year later
Ordered it on June 1st, 2024, it’s now July 24, 2025 and it just stopped working. It won’t turn on anymore. It was working perfectly fine with no signs that it was going out. The bass was good and it was easy to connect. There’s nothing wrong with the wire. I went to turn it one and it just won’t respond. It’s not the outlet either because I tested it with my phone and my phone was charging just fine in the same outlet. It was selling for $59.99 at time of purchase but I’m glad we didn’t waste that type of money because there was a $10 discount applied, plus I had a $24.15 Amazon gift card, then my partner paid the difference. I wish I would’ve taken the 1 star reviews seriously because it seems like it’s a common issue with this thing not working after 1 year or less. Now it’s in the trash and I’m annoyed because I hate wasting any type of money.

The good and bad of inexpensive sound bars
This is an inexpensive sound bar and so to expect it sound like a top end unit is unrealistic. It is supposed to have four speakers and two bass reflex ports but obviously the speakers can only be so big in a compact unit and the sound quality is negatively impacted by that. However, it certainly improves upon the sound coming from almost all TV’s these days so it is an inexpensive step up.Lots of people complaining that you can’t use another remote with this to control volume on your TV and that is only partially correct. If you have a true learning remote, it will easily learn all the functions and control volume for any device you are using. A universal remote will probably not work because I can’t find a code for this unit. So, learning remote only and it does not need to be some high end unit – mine is an older analog Sony unit that works perfectly with everything I’ve ever bought.Convenience. This is where it gets annoying. There is a series of dim lights across the front of the unit and serve absolutely no purpose other than to show which input method you are using which is ridiculous because once it’s set, you’re probably never going to change it unless you buy a new TV. What those lights should do is show volume levels like almost every other sound bar I’ve ever seen.The unit works very well with my powered subwoofer although the volume button the remote for subwoofer has no impact on mine, suspect it is there for those that buy the version of this that comes with its own SW. It does however mute the woofer when you use the mute function so they do communicate.Size – slim enough to fit right in front of my TV because my TV is on the OEM stand and sits just high enough for this to slide slightly under. Wall mounting with the included hardware would be just about impossible and likely to fail if it does hold initially. Get some molly bolts if you really want to hang it and try and catch one end on a stud for insurance.The main reason I bought this unit is because almost all the sound bars out there have eliminated a subwoofer out jack. They either come with a BT sub of their own or have built in woofers that the manufacturer thinks are sufficient.. I prefer a powered 10″ sub to get the full effect and you obviously need an output from the bar to use one. This is actually a backup unit to another brand I already own and is over 10 years old so afraid of failure and the inability to find a replacement with the features I need.
