Fit 7-year old
Got it for a 7 year old and it fit well. The quality is impressive, with a sturdy build that provides great protection. Purchased for my granddaughter. Nice helmet. The adjustment knob makes for a snug fit (best part about the helmet). Looked at a lot of helmets in the bike shops and nothing came close for the style, fit and the price. Great value for the money.

We ordered a few helmets for my 9 year old from Amazon and REI. Also went to Walmart to see what they had. None of them, except this one worked. The size is right. The other Schwinn helmet (see my review for Schwinn Youth Intercept Helmet, Green) we ordered from Amazon was badly manufactured. Plastic warped. But this one is fine. I inspected the labels inside which show the CPSC logo. Most of them, including this one, were made in China.Make sure you check the YEAR it is made. those made in earlier years (2014 and earlier) were bad and look like old stock. Some were too large to fit a youth’s head or had straps under the chin that rubs uncomfortably. Padding inside the S Thrasher Youth is not too thin either. Easily removable for cleaning. The visor, although very sharp looking, barely provide any shade- more for aesthetic value. This is an Ok helmet for the price. Not as nicely made compared to the GIRO Youth Rascal that we tried at REI (and also available on Amazon) which is a lot more $ (we had to return the Giro because the M/L sizing is too small but would have gladly paid more for a better helmet if it had fit). Overall, we are happy with the Schwinn Thrasher Youth helmet protection and glad finally one that fits well!

Perfect helmet
The best feature of this (aside from safety) is the adjustable fit dial in the back. Because of this this helmet fits my daughter’s head perfectly leaving some room to grow.The material is sturdy and is built the way you’d expect a helmet to be.The pattern is cute and has not faded when kept inside when not in use.My 7 year old daughter says this is comfortable and we do not have to battle her to wear it.

Even an Adult with a Small Head needs to Purchase the Youth Sized Helmet
I’m an Adult with a Small Head and being able to purchase the Schwinn Thrasher Helmet in the Youth Helmet size and in the Red and Silver color to go with my Red and Gray, Columbia Magellan 700c Hybrid Bike was a perfect match along with some of the other Bicycling items that I also purchased through AMAZON, including the Cateye Enduro Cyclocomputer, that’s also Red, Gray and Black in color. All of the other Bicycle Helmet’s that I was looking at were only Adult size with no Youth size available so it took me quite some time and as soon as I saw this Schwinn Thrasher Bicycle Helmet and also being available in a Youth size and exact color combination I was looking for, I immediately grabbed it. Remember to always measure the diameter of your head just above the eyebrows and going all the way around and also remember that Adult Helmet’s are not to be used by children even young teenager’s. The same needs to be said regarding Bicycles also, Children need to be riding bikes that their body size fits, Adult size Bicycles are not to be ridden by Children, their arm’s and leg’s are to short.

Purchased brand new. It just arrived with tags on. It’s already falling apart. The ‘shell’ is already peeling off the styrofoam. Styrofoam seems patched.I don’t trust this helmet. Returning.
