I was so ready to love this, but sadly disappointed
Was looking for a new toaster. I was originally looking for a toaster that could handle a lot of different types of breads and was looking at a different brand. The reviews were so-so for the other brand, and one of them mentioned Secura as a better option, so I decided to check it out.When I read the description of this toaster I was so excited to order it. I read the previous reviews, both good and bad, and decided to go for it. In fact, I liked it so much that I decided to order two and give one to my son. When I received my order I noticed that both boxers were heavily taped up, but continued on.The first toaster, once I got it open, had a sticker that it had been “serviced”. I was not aware that I was purchasing a refurbished item and would not have ordered it had I known this. Looking into the toaster I noticed right away, that the cage that holds the bread was damaged on one side, so I packed it back up to be returned.The second toaster appeared to be a new one as it did not have the sticker saying it had been serviced. I plugged it in, and prepared for my first use of the toaster. When plugged in, the display came up right away, so far, so good. I put an English muffin in, and prepared to toast. The coils heated up and I could see the glow. Then they went out. And stayed out. I let the muffin go through the timed cycle. Not toasted. Decided to give it another shot, coils still did not heat up and no toasted English muffin. Needless to say this toaster is being returned as well.Having had bad experiences with both of the units purchased has put me off this brand, but I still love the IDEA of the toaster but will not try again with this particular brand.

Stopped working after two weeks of use
We loved it until it broke after two weeks of use. I used the defrost function. After that it stopped toasting – the heating just stopped working. I am exchanging it today for exact same model. We will give it another try.

Good and bad
Received a bit scratched up and wobbly, with some manufacturing defects. Unlike nearly every other review I actually paid for this. A bunch of the heating elements on one side curl inward preventing proper heating and making a smell.With that out of the way the toaster works well and is sleek, I like the high wattage rating so bread crisps well and quickly. Wish there were way to add time to current toast, and reheat should be more like 20sec at least, 15 is too low. Was disappointed that the upper portion is all plastic, not glass.. hence all the scratches. Sometimes slices will get stuck and not drop properly.

Ok, so I only have 1 complaint, why didnât it come as a 4 slice lol, I LOVE this! Itâs so incredibly simple to use, the output is an amazing repeatable toasting. I like it has all the settings for different things you might through the toaster! Itâs great because the wife and I no longer have to fight over the temp we want our bread done to. The reason for the 4 slice comment is that as the main cook of the house when Iâm making the family breakfast itâs slower only doing 2 pieces, but at least I know time wise exactly how long until itâs done due to the on screen timer. Sone friends came over recently and Iâve learned they ordered one after seeing ours, itâs a great unit and I think so many folks will love it! The construction is very sound, the crumb tray is super easy to remove and clean and replace. The finish is refined and doesnât look out of place in todays kitchen.

I love all the features this toaster has to offer but it needs to improved the browning of the toasting as it doesnât toast as well as the indicated options, I need to toast twice at a lesser browning to get my preferred dark browning of the toast. When toasting fresh bread slices, the crust browns but the centre takes longer to brown, so I have to toast twice at a lower browning setting, to give it more time. The toaster is elegant in appearance and the outer side walls are cool to the touch. One odd quirk it has is that it shuts off the inside elements in both slots either 30 or 15 seconds before completion of toasting, Iâve never seen that before and itâs not explained.

I received the “Secura 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster”. It came with a 16 page user manual. The toaster feels sturdy and appears to be well built. It has a 2 year warranty. The user manual suggests that before inserting any bread into the toaster, to run it on empty for 1 to 2 times. This will burn off any oils, dust or other residue from the manufacturing process. I ran it for 3 cycles before inserting any bread. The first 2 run cycles produced a smell and a tiny bit of smoke, but the third time it was completely normal. Then I was ready to toast my bread. This toaster comes with an easy to clean bread crumb tray. All you have to do is press it in and it pops out, clean it, push it back in, and it stays in place catching your bread crumbs. However, I won’t be using that feature because I always use toaster bags as I don’t like crumbs in my toaster. When plugged in, the display on the toaster will light up. You have many options. There’s the “bread”, “bagel”, “grain”, “pastry”, “muffin”, and “waffle” buttons. You have a choice of 6 browning shades that can be selected. There’s a duo “start” and “cancel” button, when pressed the bread will automatically descend into the toaster, pressing it again will cancel the selection. If toasting just 1 piece of bread, press the “one slot button” and only the slot on the right side of the toaster will heat up. Toasting frozen bread is a breeze, select the bread button, press the snowflake icon which is the “defrost” button along with the desired level of browning. The frozen bread will be defrosted and then toasted. The count down timer shows exactly how many more minutes/seconds are left for the toast to pop up. If you’ve toasted some bread and left it out for a while and now want to warm it up, just place it back in the toaster then press the “reheat button”. There’s also a “keep warm button” which will keep your toast warm for up to 30 minutes. If for any reason you want to look at your toast without interrupting the toasting cycle, you can press the “quick look button” and the toast will pop up for approximately 2 seconds so you can look at it. If you don’t press the cancel button then the bread will go back down into the toaster until it’s finished its cycle. This toaster is awesome. It toasts my bread to my exact prefered browning levels and gets it right each and every time. I can’t find any fault with this toaster. I absolutely love it.
