if youâre looking you need this
The cable stays mounted on my truck. I used this to connect my truck to the the Redarc BCDC charger that keeps my lithium batteries charged. Thus cover does a great job of keeping dirt and water out of the plug. Like the plug itself it is a bit pricey for what it is but it does do a great job. so you get your moneys worth i think. buy once cry once

Really needed
Takes a bit to snap it on but keeps the plug from getting filled with sand and dirt as you roll your electrical umbilical cord up for your trailer.A must buy if you have this plug.

Works great but….
The protective itself works great. However, the lanyard (which secures the cover to the cord when not in use) is not long enough to attach to the shore power cord on a 50A replacement connector due to the length and thickness of the strain relief that comes with the new connector. I zip-tied the end of the lanyard to the strain relief to give enough length to install the protective cover when needed.

A good, solid product.
I got tired of replacing the round Marino 30 amp female ends due to them becoming burned so I replaced it with this Smartplug. It’s a solid product and I’m confident that I won’t have any more burnt female cord ends.Update: I installed this product nearly two years ago for use on a boat in Alaska that sees a lot of rain and snow and itâs worked great! Due to my confidence with this plug, I ordered a second one and installed on another cord.
