Customers say
Customers find the smart plug easy to set up and perfectly compatible with HomeKit systems. However, the functionality and connectivity receive mixed feedback, with some reporting it stops working after a month and losing connectivity frequently. Moreover, customers express concerns about durability, noting it doesn’t last two years, and power consumption monitoring, with one customer mentioning the measurements aren’t granular enough.

Great Company with Great Products
I have several Switchbot products at this point. So when I needed smart switches I decided to stick with Switchbot. I have not been disappointed! They work great. Ridiculously easy setup, fit easily on shared power strips, and so far have worked flawlessly. I am currently using one to run my plant light and the other to run a seed heat pad. I like that you can set various timers and how much power is being pulled.

Easy to install
I like that these plugs give you a report of the electric draw in the app. That is almost more useful than the smart on/off feature. One important note, in order to use that feature, you have to download the app. I was hoping to just use them on HomeKit but though easy to setup, didn’t give the wattage readout. Then it is not possible to add them to the switchbot app without first going into HomeKit and removing them. That’s a minor issue, but just worth noting. Now I know to set them up in switchbot app first, and then that app will help get them into HomeKit. Anyway. Happy with these plugs.

Keeps failing =(
I really love this product when it works⦠when it works, itâs awesome because I just tell Siri on my Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad or HomePod to turn my twinkle lights & lamp on or off. Itâs so nice to be able to wake up, & tell Siri to turn my lights on to make me want to get up when Iâm too tired. lol. I like how it has a little indicator light that tells you when itâs on or not. It fits nicely in standard outlets without blocking the other outlet below or above. The build quality feels pretty durable & good quality. The white is a very clean & sleep white which looks great for blending in with modern decor/light walls or outlets. Itâs very well designed apart from the firmware of it being so faulty & unreliable =(I had a good experience with it at first for maybe a month or so, which made me want another. I really liked how convenient it made it for me to switch lights on or off with my voice. So I bought a second one! But shortly after, Iâm not sure why they both keep failing to connect to Appleâs HomeKit or even the Switchbot app. Iâve checked to make sure my wifi & router are good, Internet speed, Iâve reset the Switchbot plugs SO many times & they keep failing. When I finally get them connected to the Switchbot app, it says I that an update of the firmware is highly recommended but the update failed after 5 tries. I donât know what else to do. I guess Iâll try to contact the company about it & if thereâs not fix, Iâll have to go with another, actually reliable brand. Because at this point, with how often I have to reset them only for them to fail shortly after, itâs made my life much less convenient which defeats the purpose of buying these FOR convenience =(

Works fine with app, but…
Works fine with the SwitchBot app. Unfortunately, it does not work well with the Home Assistant SwitchBot or HomeKit integrations. Does not appear in the SwitchBot integration, but does appear in the HomeKit (HK) integration. However, in HK, it only appears as a smartplug which can be turned on or off, no energy monitoring is available.

Works well. Easy to set up.
This device has no separate login and PW option, which I like. It uses your choice of existing Apple, Amazon, or Google account. Once I got it connected to my router, i removed all app permissions like location, personal info, etc They don’t need that for me to operate a switch on my home network. Still works fine. Doesn’t work with Samsung SmartThings, but the app provided is lightweight and simple to use. Happy with it.

Drop off and on the network often
the SwitchBot plug is OK. When it is working, it works well. The problem I am having is that it drops off the network often and randomly. Then it will reconnect. I’ve tried them in different outlets and different rooms. I’ve used a booster for the router. Distance from our router doesn’t seem to matter, since they’ll drop in the same 10×12 ft office as the router as often as they do in a room across the house. The App for controling them is fine. I do wish that I didn’t have to have a separate App and that they’d be recognized by Google Home, Nest, Apple Home, Amazon.

Switchbot Switch Mini is excellent
I got the four pack of Switchbot Switch Minis to record power usage in key devices in my home, and the information gained was eye opening. I can better prioritize replacement or configuration of appliances to save energy. All functions work as described, and setup is not difficult.
Amazon Customer –
Setup in seconds because itâs a HomeKit compatible device and works well.

We’ve got coffee makers which people sometimes forget to unplug (that is how they are turned off) at the end of the day. By putting a SwitchBot Smart Plug between the outlet and the coffeemakers I am successfully alerted at end of work day if the plug is still providing power. Sounds like something most smart switches (which boast power monitoring) should be able to do, right? Right? Not so much. I’ve tried with 2 competing products which also boasted power monitoring features, but those power monitoring features could not trigger anything. SwitchBot actually allows a notification to be sent AT A PARTICULAR TIME if ALSO the SWITCH DELIVERS MORE THAN X WATTS. Finally, something which does this!Note that in my pictures, the black extension cord serves to keep the SwitchBot firmly plugged in, as the wall outlet didn’t seem to offer enough friction and the SwitchBot would fall out. I think this is particular to our outlet and would not be a problem for most users.I do have a quibble, and that is the alerts still fire if SwitchBot is unplugged. The automation doesn’t have a logic-case for is-SwitchBot-plugged-in. So it can be unplugged, but still think it is on, and still think it is delivering the last-delivered amount of power. That is why we’re instructing staff to unplug the coffeemakers (the 2 power cords at the bottom going into the extension cord with 3 outlets) from the extension cord, rather than unplug the short-black extension cord from the wall. That’s a tiny bit annoying we have to do that, but given that I’ve gone thru 2 other products to finally find something that works at all in this situation, I’m happy to just need to leave SwitchBot plugged in.I am giving 4/5 stars presently because I still think that the automation logic needs to be aware of unplugged-switchbot scenarios and not just be assuming watts and on/off were in their last state.

The plug keeps triggering OCP whenever I turn on a portable air conditioner (~400 watts). The plug randomly trips when the compressor turns on and itâs incredibly frustrating given that many devices have slightly higher startup currents than during normal operation. If youâre going to buy this plug, make sure your device doesnât have any high starting current (because the plug will trip and youâll have to go over and manually reset it).

These items are completely useless only works with very old 2.5 g wifi that nobody has. It expects you change your entire hoke signal too lower spec 2.5 in order to use which is completely retarded. I’m gunna slow every device in my 100 by more then half to use a stupid blue tooth plug. There is no way any person in the first world will beable to make any use out of these devices there are 100% worthless. Bought 3 thinking I could use them on my plus. Not worth paying more money to try and return this garbage they are going right into the trashcan
