Camera License Pack with 1 code to connect up to 8 IP cameras. Synology Camera License Packs are designed for expanding cameras set up on the Synology Surveillance Station.
Synology NAS/NVR comes with default licenses that allow you to set up and manage surveillance devices. The number of default licenses may differ. You only need to purchase extra licenses when your deployment requires more licenses than the default ones listed below: Synology NAS: 2 default licenses. Network Video Recorder: 4 default licenses. Deep Learning NVR: 8 default licenses
Synology also provides three options for additional purchased licenses: 1, 4 or 8 Surveillance Device License Packs; each comes with a single license key, allowing you to activate 1, 4 or 8 surveillance devices at a time.
To find out the maximum number of surveillance devices supported on each Synology NAS/NVR, please refer to the specifications of each model.
Purchased licenses can be migrated, while default license keys cannot.
Under most circumstances, each IP camera, I/O module, IP speaker, intercom, and access controller will only require one license, while each transaction device will require two licenses. However, multi-lens cameras and video servers for analog cameras may require additional licenses. For more details about supported cameras and surveillance devices, please refer to the Camera Support List and Surveillance Device Support List at Synology website.
Customers say
Customers find the software works well and is easy to install, with one noting there’s no additional software required. Moreover, the IP camera capability receives positive feedback, with one customer mentioning it enables support for more cameras. However, customers disagree on the value for money, considering it a waste of cost.

More Licenses More Webcams More to See That You’re Missing
I have a Synology DS1812+ (8-Bay) Server. Though I was aware of the Surveillance Station App, I had no cause to explore it until I added several more network (IP) webcams. I quickly used the two free licenses that were provided with the server. The setup of each camera is easy and the record/playback/timeline functions are great. The Synology DS Cam Phone App works very well too. I also use Blue Iris concurrently (on a separate PC) and it all gets along well. I purchased the 8-pack license to add more webcams. Installing the license pack was no more difficult than typing in the license number. The Surveillance Station App is a professional grade product and plays well with others. Being able to record multiple webcams gives us a better feel for our inside and outside environment…might even see a raccoon raiding the birdfeeder!

Amazon lied to me.
Mr. Amazon, you told me that it will arrive on February 12th.My package is arrived on February 8th. I’m so grateful1. The shape of the picture and the real thing are the same.2. There is a card-shaped key in the package.

Easy Installation.
I am using my Synology NAS as the recording location for my home video surveillance system. The application called Surveillance Station is free, but only includes connections for 2 cameras. The license pack increases the recording functionality to either 2, 4 or 8 additional cameras. What you are buying is a license number for your extra cameras. There is no additional software to install. The NAS must have connectivity to the internet; Surveillance Station calls home to Synology to validate the number you just entered. It took me about 5 minutes, including the time to log into the NAS. Easy!

Great surveillance camera platform at a steep cost
Synology Surveillance Station is a great concept – turning a NAS that’s already used for file storage into a security system that can record files. Synology limits the number of cameras that can be added to Surveillance Station (by default most Synology NAS’ come with 2 free camera licenses). While the price tag on these license packs is hefty, I do find that Synology Surveillance Station is much better than my previous competitor security system.

Great Product
We have been using Synology’s Surveillance Station for years now and it works flawlessly for us. I have ~12 cameras on it, in total, and I couldn’t ask for a easier or cheaper solution.

You get what you pay for
I was so hesitant to pay for camera licensing but Surveillance Station with the DS cam app is awesome. Rock solid software with continuous improvements. Absolutely no regrets. Yes you have to wait for this to mail in. No big deal.

“Supported” cameras don’t offer full functionality
If this product worked as advertised, it could be outstanding. Unfortunately, the list of cameras that Synology states as being supported, are not necessarily fully supported. Features that the cameras offer and that Surveillance Station claims to offer are simply unavailable. You end up managing them through both the camera interface and Surveillance Station, but the later will most likely over-write the configurations leaving you with a half-baked surveillance system. In attempting to troubleshoot, I also discovered that their support is lacking. I was pushed to articles that showed exactly how to do what I wanted, but even providing screenshots they did not grasp those advertised options weren’t available. To do any troubleshooting outside the articles, they asked for full system logs, claiming there was nothing sensitive or personal (take a look for yourself and decide) and full remote access with an admin account, giving them untethered access anytime they want. A company with a policy and support service like that, count me out.Bottom line, I thought Synology had quality products, but I won’t ever purchase one of their products again.

Got exactly what was advertised
These keys were easy ti install and synology accepted the keys easy enough, of course my only gripe is the cost. I mean you have to buy the nas, then buy the hard drives, then you have to buy the camera’s, then you have to buy a key to use them. Feels like i am being squeezed for every penny they can get. I will be testing BluIiris and its its capabilities after all of this expensive testing. that being said, Synology Surveilence center is good, and had good features. But i use the 1821+ and the 18+ series befor that, and now they have the AI versions. So now i feel like all this money spent, and i still dont have the right hardware. So over all i am not very excited.Thats why i gave it 3 star. Cause i am not going to purchase the AI system, after spending thousands on all this other equiptment, and licences. So again for me, i think it will be cheaper going forward to just invest time into BluIiris system. and avoid any other upcharges from synology in the future.

Ajouté à un NAS Synology 918+ (Qui possède déjà 2 licenses dâorigine), le lot de 8 licenses a été rapidement activé le tout à un très bon tarif.

I’m running a DS1821+ and a computer with a 1060 graphics card, I’m mentioning this so that you can compare to your setup.Adding my 9 cameras to my Synology NAS was something that I had researched for some time.I looked at the features of the Synology software and my cameras. So things that I think many who consider expanding their camera licenses wonder is how will this affect performance. My setup is that the cameras are the ones that are in control of triggering motion detections. This works great on the cameras that have some kind of human av vehicle detection – but on the oldest ones that just trigger on montion detailed tuning is needed and I will be replacing them in the future with new one that can trigger on human detection. The reson I’m not doing motion detection on the NAS is that I found that it does in fact consume CPU resources. (Which I much rather want to have for my containers and virtual machines). But if you would have <6 cameas on a DS1821+ I think you would still have enough power to do other things. On the computer side that I use to watch a live view of all the cameras I have enabled GPU acceleration for the client. It used up around 30% GPU time deconding on my 3 generations old graphics card. I would expect the impact to be much less if you are using a newer card.So basically the license pack is easy to use and the thing to consider is how your system will handle your setup.I'm having my video stored on Micron PRO SSDs (with high endurance rating) so my normal harddrives are not involved with the video survelience. If you don't have cameras and are looking at this iten at the same time you consider buying cameras - consider looking at Synlologys cameras where the camera licence is included - meaning that you will not need additional liceses if you use their brand camera. But for me since they don't have models with color mode during the night they are not an option for me.
