Compact and Reliable Bluetooth Upgrade for Any PC
Iâve been using the TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth Adapter for a few weeks now, and itâs been absolutely flawless. For anyone who wants to add Bluetooth to a desktop or improve their current wireless setup, this little dongle does the trick with zero hassle. What I Love:Plug and Play Simplicity: As soon as I plugged it into my Windows 10 desktop, it installed the drivers automatically and worked within secondsâno extra software or setup needed.Stable, Strong Signal: I use this with my wireless headphones and Xbox controller, and the connection remains rock solid even across the room. No lag, no dropouts.Tiny Footprint: The nano design is brilliant. It barely sticks out of the USB port and can stay plugged in without risk of getting knocked loose.Bluetooth 5.0 Speed & Range: The enhanced range and lower latency are real. I can walk into the kitchen and my music still plays clearly through my Bluetooth earbuds.Wide Compatibility: It paired easily with multiple devices: PS5 controller, Bluetooth keyboard, smartphone, and a portable speaker. All synced up without a single issue.Things to Note:Windows Only: Itâs designed for Windows systems, so donât expect support for Mac or Linux.Driver May Be Needed for Windows 7: If youâre on an older OS, you might have to manually install TP-Linkâs driver from their website.Final Verdict:For the price, this is one of the best Bluetooth dongles you can get. Itâs fast, reliable, and super easy to use. Iâve already recommended it to a few friends, and I wouldnât hesitate to buy it again.

No problems under Arch Linux, kernel 6.1
One of the ad bullets explcitly claims:”NOTE: UB500 is not compatible with Mac, Linux, TV, or Windows 8.”But it seemed several reviewers had no issues getting it to work with various Linux distros, so thought I’d try it. Works for me under Arch Linux, kernel 6.1: Device is claimed by btusb driver, which then loads rtl_bt/rtl8761bu. No issues at all.Maybe the ad copy was written some time ago when there were documented issues with this device under 5.x kernels? I don’ t know, just guessing, but in any case, I encountered no problems on my setup. As expected, given the “nano” size form factor, range is not wonderful; connectivity is intermittent thru 3 walls at 20 ft. But hey, fine for my purposes within 3-4m from the paired device.

Well-Built, Reliable, and Fully Compatible â A Step Above the Rest
This TP-Link Bluetooth dongle is exactly what I hoped it would be. Itâs solidly built, well-packaged, and has the right internal specs that many cheaper adapters simply lack. Some Bluetooth dongles look similar on the outside, but this one supports key protocols like BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), which makes it compatible with more modern devices and apps â including things like Microsoft Phone Link, smart home gear, and other tools that need more than just basic Bluetooth audio or file transfer.I bought it because I needed a dongle with full support for advanced Bluetooth features. The TP-Link adapter performed flawlessly. Installation was easy, drivers were solid, and pairing was fast and reliable. If you’re looking for a Bluetooth adapter that just works, this is an excellent choice. TP-Link clearly took the time to build something that meets spec and is made to last. Highly recommended

The TP-Links UB500 Is A Great Little Device But….
The TP-Link model UB500 is a compact nano USB adapter, available in two versions: the older US/2.6, which supports Bluetooth 5.3, and the newer US/3.6, which supports Bluetooth 5.4. Both versions are packaged identically, with only a minor difference in the barcode label. Since they are priced the same, I feel cheated and misled to receive the older version. If I hadnât checked the driver options, I wouldnât have known. TP-Link informed me that they don’t sell directly, so I must rely on Amazon resellers to verify the version before making a purchase. What are the chances of that actually happening versus selling through their older inventory? For that reason, I have to remove a ‘star’ from my review/rating.

Finally… a good cheap bluetooth 5.3 (actually 5.4!!) option. 20ms audio latency unlocked
I bought this and it was labeled/marketed as BT 5.0 / 5.3- I was SO VERY HAPPY to see upon install and review that the architecture is actually BLUETOOTH 5.4 – Yes, Five-point-four!What does this mean versus the 5.3 and previous??20 MS AUDIO LATENCY!!!!!!!!! (versus the 40ms on 5.3, etc)Absolute day-and-night difference, game-changer at the core. One of the absolute best upgrades you can do for your PC / Laptop / etc and it only costs 10 dollars usually!Hats off to TP-Link for bringing around yet another quality-designed and reliable product. The speed for file transfers blows everything pre-5.0 out of the water. The audio quality (especially latency) is so much better. This is mostly noticeable while gaming, or watching a fast-paced movie- no more half-second delays between what’s on the screen and what’s coming out of the speaker.Previously I had used an “off-brand” USB Nano BT 5.0 “dongle” (seriously, why do we even call it that? such a weird word.) and the main issue I had then was number 1) Distance between adapter and devices (very very low tolerance), 2) Unable to keep more than two devices connected at a consistent rate (i.e bluetooth speaker and xbox controller)3) Build quality – when unplugging the older device, it felt like it was going to fall apart.ALL THESE ISSUES ARE NOW GONE FOR ME SINCE I UPGRADED AND I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH
