Scan the box, works like a champ
There’s a QR code to scan on the flap of the box when you open it. Took me longer to figure that out than I did actually getting it set up.You do need power over Ethernet – if you don’t already have it, make sure you buy a PoE adapter/switch to go along with.Setup was pretty straightforward. You do need an app to set it up, but only for the device doing theil initial setup.I can get pretty good signal strength from 200 feet away with one wall between me and it, acceptable signal in my workshop behind the house with many walls and a breaker box in-between, and the speeds are drastically better than the stock router that our ISP gave us.

Ubiquiti is high quality, high performance equipment
Ubiquiti is excellent equipment! I have installed many of these access points as well as their switches and cameras. This unit arrived in factory packaging and on time. Installation was a breeze (may require some networking knowledge with regards to PoE, etc.). I highly recommend Ubiquiti!

Doubles as a child restraint. Great access point too.
Works great and covers a large area while allowing everyone to connect and have 0 speed issues. In ubiquity management it’s easy to set up and have all sorts of fun with. It’s big, has blue light so don’t put it where anyone sleeps.Probably could turn the light off but having a giant eye in the wall keeps small children compliant if they see it “watching” them.

    Perfect for single story home
I bought 2 of these to get even coverage around my house but when I get nearly 800mbps/800mbps anywhere in the house with just 1 of these in the middle, I just kept the second for a rainy day. They are very powerful and customizable (obviously you need to have a Unifi controller to customize the power and bandwidth). If you live far from an Airport, you can use DFS channels on 5ghz which stops all 5Ghz interference from your neighbors (Who are defintely not on DFS channels). In a 1750 sq ft home, I get good signal strength and coverage all over the home on 5 Ghz. Best WiFi access point for the money

    Great AP!!
The device itself and the functionality I’ve gotten from the them has been amazing. Didn’t really need to do any setup other than making sure they can connect back to the Ubiquity Cloud I have in my stack. The entire Ubiquiti setup was very straight forward. The reason this review is not 5 stars is only due to the mounting system on these APs. As long as you don’t have to move the AP around it’s fine, but troubleshooting is a pain due to the mounting/un-mounting process.

    Ubi wifi
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The Ubiquiti U6+ is an excellent dual-band Wi-Fi 6 access point. It offers fast speeds up to 3 Gbps and supports all major Wi-Fi standards, making it great for busy homes or small offices. The setup is straightforward, and the design is sleek and modern. Reliable connectivity and strong coverage — a solid choice for high-performance wireless networking.

use the unifi app people, you don’t need unfi cloud.
Easy setup just use the unifi app and select stand alone. if you have mixed B/G and N/AC/AX this is the one you need.newer version might not work well with older devices. The only things you are really missing out on in stand alone mode is mesh and some remote management. not a big deal for private non commercial use. as for powering these yes you can get a poe injector just make sure it support poe+ standard. you can also find used ubiquiti EdgeSwitch’s on ebay. alot of them have poe+ on most or all ports. and they be much cheaper than unifi cloud key or a unifi dream machine router. of course you can always add the cloud key or dream machine later.

These units are powerful! Very reasonable price (under 200 CAD) and easy to set up like all the UniFi product line is. Will and have purchased more of these.
