UE Boom, best portable speakers ever.
Ultimate Ears portable speakers are the best on the market.My original one from 10 years ago still works perfectly, sounds amazing, and the battery still powers the thing for like 8 to 10 hours on a full charge. I use it 2-3 times a week for many hours at a time.Iâve even taken it on multiple inner tube float trips (in a ziplock bag). Iâm the most popular guy on the river. Iâve gotten enough free beer to pay for the damn thing.I clean it a few times a year with a damp rag and a shop vac and it still looks brand new, except for some minor polishing on the rubber over power button.I bought the UE Boom 4 to pair with the old one for stereo sound.Itâs incredible. The sound is amazing!If this thing holds up like the original, Iâll probably never need another portable speaker.Except, Iâm probably going to buy 2 more to have surround sound stereo wherever I go and whenever I want it.Canât say enough good things about this company and their products.Buy one. Youâll love it.

Quality, not very effective equalizer (mixer) in the App.
I bought one, liked it, then bought another for true stereo sound. Good sound (for me it is fine, but maybe not the very best). I am satisfied and enjoy them. Can move them around, and strong enough for filling our apartment living room. 4 stars though – when using two it can be finiky to get them both operating together. A bit of playing around that prevents me from freely using them as I don’t have a lot of patience for technology. But the do connect. Also, they have an APP where you can adjust the sound (mixer for bass, treble, etc.) but not nearly as effective as I would like. But I am happy with them as they are. If you really want to equalize sound and are particular, you might want to spend more money. It is minimalist – you have to know where the control buttons are and how to use them. Could have a better instruction manual for non-tech buffs like me.

Sound is amazing!
I love the color of this blue one! Music is amazing out of this speaker. I like bass and it has plenty! I havenât tried using it with an audiobook so I donât know if the base will be too much in that case but it freaking rocks when jamming to your favorite tunes. The sound is crisp and it will get quite loud and Iâve not even turned it up 75% yet.

This is by far honestly probably one of the worst speakers, and worst investment into a speaker, that Iâve ever made. I understand if maybe I got a faulty speaker, maybe the internals are just not properly set up and I just canât see it. I will say though, total waste of money. I spent $150 on a âhigh qualityâ speaker, thatâs got choppy connection to the device playing music, and it has YET to last me longer than 3 1/2 hours even being charged for 8-10 hours at a time. Wouldnât recommend to anybody honestly, again, unless my speaker is just malfunctioning. I do not like leaving bad reviews, I love to support the companies I support by buying their product, Iâm just absolutely as dissatisfied as I could be in full honesty. Expected so much more. Not sure I trust to buy anything from this company at this point. Used to be good, everything collectively seems to be going downhill.

I have used a JBL Flip 5 for a few years and am still happy with it. I wanted another bluetooth speaker to use in my workshop. The sound samples from Flip 6 were good in the bass but sounded too hot in the treble for me. The Wonderboom 4 also sounds like the high end has too much sizzle for my taste. The Flip 7 sounds a lot better but is $50 more expensive than the current Boom 4 at $139 CAD.Note:The Boom 4 price has moved back up to $199. Flip 7 might be the better deal at this price point.Boom 4 seems to really shine in the clear and dynamic presentation of a natural midrange. The Boom 4 low end rolls off a bit more than the Flip 5 but retains a punchy presence. The Boom 4 really outshines the Flip 5 in its clarity and dynamics. This little speaker seems very well suited for my listening tastes of classical, jazz and other laid back styles. The UE app has battery indicator, a nice remote power on feature and a simplified EQ adjustment. It can also control playlists from Apple and apparently some others.This speaker will please people with similar tastes but probably not satisfy younger beach party listeners whose contemporary playlists appreciate the boosted bass and treble frequencies of other designs.
