TOOL SPECS: Carbide-tipped vee panel tongue & groove two piece set with 1-5/8″ large diameter, 1″ cutting length, 1/2″ shank, 2-3/4″ overall length for use in 1/2″ collets.

TWO-PIECE SET: Both bits are carbide tipped with a solid steel shank, providing strength and longevity. Supplied in a protective plastic case.
MATERIALS: For use on natural woods and composite woods ranging from 5/8″ to 1″ thick. Materials over 1″ thick require a second cut on the tongue profile to waste away excess stock.

Work Perfectly
Used them to cut about 950 linear feet of tongue and groove panels in white oak and they worked perfectly. Still very sharp after the project was completed. I highly recommend these router bits.

True tongue and groove cutters
I don’t regularly write reviews however, after several past purchases and returns and reading a whole lot of materials about these, these are true tongue and groove cutters. They overlap a 3/4″ board and line up perfectly. They may be pricy but well worth the money.

Sold on Whiteside bits
I installed 1000 square feet of tongue and groove clear pine in our den ceiling. End matched the boards using a jig and used 2 routers to keep rom changing the male and female bits. Worked great and saved a lot of lumber.

Usually I’m a big fan of Whiteside Router bits.
The bit is sharp and well packaged. But the tongue bottomed out in the groove so the parts milled wouldn’t come together using the supplied bearings. For my test pcs I had to trim the tongue a bit. I ended up setting it up in my shaper with a fence and made sure I didn’t use the bearing as the reference for depth of cut since it made the tongue to long.Nice that it comes with two shims for the thickness of the groove so you can adjust the tightness. Will be especially useful after it’s sharpened once or twice. But that’s likely a ways away.
