Life Changing
No more losing keys. Easy to install with just a screwdriver. Already had app for other stuff so just needed to add device. Mostly got this because old person living with us kept getting locked out but canât remember door codes. Fingerprint access was the solution.

Easy installation with multi-type access
Installed the Hornbill Keyless Entry Door Lock Deadbolt with set fingerprint sensor tonight and it went pretty smoothly. Perhaps because the bolt and knob that it replaced were standard and I didn’t have to bore new holes. Basically placed and screwed in the new units.PROS:I like the fact that I can use the fingerprint reader, keypad, key fob and key to get in. Easy install with the bolt, door-knob and the wifi-bluetooth gateway. Phone App was also easy to set up. I also like being able to grant someone access on the fly, etc.CONS (Minus one star for this):There are no instructions about the Wifi – Bluetooth Gateway as well as the nuances with Alexa integration. It was a little screwy, because my Alexa app on the phone added the Door Lock when I was setting up the Home app, but when I asked Alexa to lock the door, it said that the Door Lock isn’t responding. I viewed a couple of 3+ year-old YouTube videos and they said I had to install a TTLock Skill, turns out I didn’tâI just had to go into the Alexa App and make sure to allow Voice Control with the device. Viola! “Alexa, lock the front door.” Then I heard the electro-mechanical door bolt lock sound.”The front door is now locked”, said Alexa.

So far so good. I bought this for a vacation home. Installation wasn’t bad if you’re familiar with basic lock installs. Finger print reader had worked everytime as does code entry.I was concerned about battery life but I installed it in February and still showing 100% in May.

Secure and convenient
I like how it says something if the bolt doesn’t lock all the way, so that you don’t leave home thinking the door is locked when it isn’t. The ability to set multiple fingerprints, codes, and fobs per user is a great function and it doesn’t actually need wifi for anything except the initial setup unless you’re going to be using the wireless functions, but it’s more secure without it connected after setup. The original one from Amazon had to be returned because of the poor condition I received it in, but Home Depot had the same kind and that’s what we installed. I didn’t want to leave a bad review on a great product because of what had to be a warehouse error. Highly recommend this as a home security upgrade as long as you keep it off network access and it would even be good for rentals because extra key fobs are really cost friendly and codes can be easily reprogrammed from your phone.

Error: Lock tongue does not pop up
I received the kit the next day. I installed the doorknob first, but the knob wouldnât return to its original position after being turned (see attached video). Because of this issue, I paused the installation of the smart lock and contacted Hornbillock. I sent them a photo of the knob, and they claimed the latch wasnât theirs because all of their latches are silver. They said they would look into it and get back to me.I waited 10 days with no response.Apparently, they donât even know what theyâre sellingâthe latch for the knob is black, while the latch for the smart lock is silver. I returned the kit for a replacement.The replacement arrived, and this time the knob worked fine, so I went ahead and installed the smart lock. It worked well for the most part, though occasionally it failed to read the fingerprint, and I had to wait for it to time out. Then I noticed that sometimes it failed to auto-lock. The log showed several âLock tongue does not pop upâ errors. Over two weeks of use, there were 11 such errors.We have unknowingly slept and left the house several times with the door unlocked.Returning this junk today.

Hands Free Convenience!
At first I was skeptical about using a wi-fi door lock. No longer. This item is easy to install, easy to set up and I now get notifications every time the lock is unlocked, whether by one of the convenient FOBs, entering the code, or unlocking the old fashioned way of using the key. It is also ULTRA CONVENIENT to use the app to lock it or be sure it is locked without having to visit the door. Works well with Alexa too!
