I was mailed someone’s garbage and told was refurbished.
I received three items and they arrived scratched, dirty and not functioning because the batteries were so old. I feel like I have been totally scammed.

Works out of the box for HID, COM port emulation not possible over USB
Great deal, works out of the box for HID, if you need COM port emulation, you have to buy a serial kit and make it a serial scanner (the scanner is multi-interface, you need the correct cable – and power supply for RS232). Barcode-arena can sell this kit for $49.00, simply search for “serial” on their site, first item that comes up is the correct one (should include a power supply and a serial cable). Once you have everythinbg connected scan the “Standard RS-232” label included in this review and you should be up and running with your serial scanner.

Brought these for work
I scan approximately 600 barcodes a night at work. These stay sl changed the whole time. I wish they came with the programming manual but you can download it for free online.

No battery and no power supply
Wouldâve been nice if it came with a battery, I couldâve rebuilt the faulty battery seeing as I rebuild them for a living. No power supply with it as well. There is another refurbished model on Amazon that comes with everything you need for the same price. I suggest you purchase that one. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!! Took forever to clear the bank and ended up having to wait until from when it was supposed to arrive three days later. 10/10 would not buy again. *update* besides the mentioning above. The product does indeed work. Instructions were unclear about how to program it but I watched a short youtube video and bam! it started scanning. The instructions have a bar code you can scan to factory reset the device, just incase. Essentially plug the cradle into the PC, install the battery (not included), place the scanner on the cradle, wait for it to beep at you, take the scanner off, and scan the barcode on the cradle. Now itâs ready to go. Didnât even need to scan any of the barcodes on the manual. Adding a star because it does indeed work, just not giving 5 for the hoops I had to jump through.

Absolutely the best scanner. Does not necessarily come configured for Bluetooth. Get the manual from zebra and the 123Scan utility (not required but easier) for configuration.123Scan lets you save a configuration and load it on multiple scanners.I tried some âchinaâ scanners, if you are using this for any business reason, go for it. The others are finicky and slow, but unless youâve used this one you donât realize it.Bought another one.

Couldn’t get it to work…
This scanner was in good condition as delivered. I was able to connect the scanner to my laptop via Bluetooth, however I could never get the scanner to actually work. I first tried the as-delivered configuration, using Notepad to display the scanned barcode, no dice. I then tried downloading and using 123Scan to configure the scanner, but 123Scan would not recognize this scanner (firmware issue I think). I then tried using the ‘reset to defaults’ configuration sequence from the manual I downloaded (not included with the scanner), and I still couldn’t get it to work.This might be a good value for companies that already have this model of scanner and have experience working with and configuring them, but if you’re looking for a quick turn-key solution and don’t have a lot of time to spend trying to learn how to configure it, then don’t buy this one. You’ll be trading off your time for the $ savings. Again, probably a great deal for people who already have experience with this model and/or configuring barcode scanners in general.

Guys, to save money, this will be a good choice if you can figure out how to setup by yourself.battery capacity is not large, checked on amazon, all such batery packs are much the same.scanner and cradle are worn heavily but can do the job.I bought 3 of them, 1st is ready to use, 2nd is able to scan but unable to transfer data to computer. 3rd is not able to scan.Follow below steps if you want to fix it.(connect 1 scanner to computer at 1 time. when it was done, start again for next scanner)1. download quick guide online for DS68782. connect hardware and cables as instructed.3. scan set default bacode in page 2.4. scan the 1st barcode in the part of USB in page 1.If you are lucky, it works now. Test its output in an excel or word file.if not, continue,1. scan “Cradle Host”, the 1st barcode in page 2.2. scan the barcode on your physical cradle.try again.if it doesn’t work, try to read the full quick guide, the part of errors, to diagnose by yourself.if it works but barcode itself is partially recognized, download full instruction manual, and try switch decoding mode to barcode 128 or barcode 39.Good luck!

was unable to connect with computer or update firmware. got a response from Zebra that said this was configured to a specific customer and can’t be changed and is also no longer supported by Zebra.

Two scanners, one named Motorola one named Symbol. Look the same. Proper procedure used to set up scanners for keyboard attachment to load serial numbers from barcodes. One works, some of the time after continually having to “reset” the scanner. The second has worked only “one time” and then will not “reset” depsite following proper set up procedure. It’s an ornament. Never again.
