Anton explains his use of the word “bevelled” and his shower regime. Loofah and Imperial Leather, I imagine.
Craig praises Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s improving performance skills. He and Shirley Ballas also dissect Nitro and Karen’s Argentine tango. Motsi Mabuse yawns pointedly. Attagirl.
Dance debrief
The paddle-raising panel sashay up to the Clauditorium for a closer look at last night’s routines.
Don’t cry for me, Argentine tango
Musical interlude now from Hollywood and West End star Rachel Zegler, performing Don’t Cry For Me Argentina – the song she went viral for singing to pedestrians outside the London Palladium in the Evita balcony scene.
Originally performed by Julie Covington, the ballad was also famously sung by Elaine Paige, Sinéad O’Connor and Madonna. Choreographic accompaniment is provided by Nikita Kuzmin and Luba Mushtuk, Argentine tango-style.
Alex Kingston is the grim reaper
She terrified locals at her village pub last Halloween. Pint and a scythe please, barkeep.
Ellie Goldstein is magic
She’s going to pull a Vito Coppola rabbit out of a hat next week. Nothing to see here.
Two coffees tomorrow please, Gino
In case you’re reading. More balcony badinage with the relieved couples. Lewis Cope tells Claudia about his family’s Strictly viewing parties back in Hartlepool.
I’m relieved Anton is back in black tie tonight. Looking like Auntie Joan would’ve undermined his judgely gravitas.
Alex Kingston is safe
Jojo fans rejoice. So are Ellie Goldstein and Lewis Cope.
The dreaded red light returns
Now to find out who else is safe – and who might not be. Gulp.
What’s the collective term for Britneys? A spear?
Britney’s had some bangers, hasn’t she? In your face, Christina so-called Aguilera.
Oops, the pros did it again
A group number from the pros now. It’s a Britney Spears number, paying tribute to her different eras and looks. Amy Dowden is Schoolgirl Britney, and Katya Jones is red latex catsuit Britney, right through to Nadiya Bychkova as Circus Britney.
The dance is a mix of jazz-funk, street-commercial, vogueing and Latin. Choreograph me, baby, one more time.
Bonnie lass
Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington will be dancing an American smooth to Total Eclipse Of The Heart by the mighty Bonnie Tyler. Massive hair, massive tune.
Carney Blinders, anyone?
Karen Carney – who’s quite a drummer, it appears – is dancing an Argentine Tango to Peaky Blinders next week.
That’s a Boone
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey discusses his daughter Aubrey’s love of the show. He and Karen Hauer are dancing an American smooth foxtrot next week but Karen can’t remember the song. She’s helpfully reminded that it’s viral hit Mystrial Magical by Benson Boone
Queen Bey-vinder
Up in the Clauditorium with the couples who are safely through to next week, Balvinder Sopal is husky-voiced and grateful.
Halloween Spooktacular teased
A trick or treat-themed trailer now for next week’s Halloween special. Write da feem week, sing da feem week.
