The TX1500E can be an energy-efficient choice that can save your family approximately 33% on energy bills. It comes preprogrammed with a default energy-conservation heating and cooling schedule that’s designed to save up to $180 in energy costs over one year.
The TX1500E works with most 24-volt heating and air-conditioning systems, including single-stage heating and cooling, heat pumps without auxiliary or emergency heat, central air, and Millivolt wall heaters/ gas fireplaces.
Easy Programming Options
This thermostat is very easy to use, with a large, electroluminescent display that clearly shows the current day, time, temperature, and filter status. A simple push of the soft-touch “H” button on the front panel will show the relative humidity in the room in addition to the room temperature.
Special programming options allow you to store temporary programs that can be used for long weekends, vacations, and holidays. Additionally, the TX1500 E features a patented speed dial that allows you to quickly and easily program up to four different periods per day–morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
For added flexibility, you can program a different schedule for weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
And thanks to the keyboard lockout feature, the TX1500E is great for households with small children or other potential unauthorized users.
Convenient Filter Life Indicator
For added convenience, the 100% mercury-free TX1500E uses a graphic filter usage monitor that allows you to set filter usage limits from zero to 180 days in 30-day increments, and also 365 days in duration.
The remaining filter life can be displayed in either calendar days or percent remaining, in addition to being shown with a graphical filter monitor indicator.

Customers say
Customers find the thermostat works like a champ and is extremely easy to program, with one customer noting it takes less than 20 minutes to set up. Moreover, the installation process is straightforward, and customers appreciate that it saves money on heating bills. Additionally, the programmability receives positive feedback, with one customer highlighting the 5-1-1 day programming feature. However, the temperature display receives mixed reviews, with some customers reporting it keeps temperatures within 1 degree while others note it doesn’t show the actual temperature. Similarly, the clarity of instructions is mixed, with some praising the clear instructions while others find the manual inadequate.

Great price, excellent product
Let me start by saying I had never installed a thermostat before. Installation was a breeze. The instructions were detailed and made me feel confident to install this myself (make sure to turn the power off as crossing the wires could cause you to blow a fuse in your HVAC unit). I won’t too much more into the installation and will stick to reviewing the product. This thermostat is great. I liked it so much I bought a second one to install in my rental property to try and make sure the HVAC is being used more efficiently to extend it’s life. Programming is super simple. The blue LED light is really nice on the easy and this unit looks great on the wall (replaced a 30 year old mercury thermostat with this one). The most important feature for me (and also my favorite) is the swing setting which is often found on more expensive thermostats. This setting is configurable and really helps with the cycling on/off of your unit. Instead of stopping at the exact temperature you have set you can set the swing setting so the thermostat will continue to heat or cool past the configured temp by a set number of degrees (or increments of degrees). For example, if you have it set to cool at 74 degrees, the thermostat will cool until 73 and then not turn back on until the temp rises up to 75 degrees when the swing setting is set to a full degree. You will rarely notice the temp going up a degree higher than you desired setting and this really reduces the amount of time your unit runs and turns on and off (the AC uses the most amount of electricity when it cycles on/off).Another great feature is that you can set this thermostat so it will get your house to the desired temperature by the time of your scheduled setting. For example, if you want the house at 74 degrees when you get home from work and have the schedule set for 74 degrees at 6pm, the unit will kick on before 6pm to get the house to that temperature by 6pm. I don’t use this feature because I set the program to the times I get home, but it is a really nice feature.I looked at the nest thermostats and other more expensive options and I am glad I went with this, Super simple, reliable, attractive looking and works great!

Easy to Use: Basic Feature Set May Be All You Need
I installed the Lux TX1500E Programmable Thermostat in my house a few weeks ago and it was straightforward to install, reasonably priced and had all the features I wanted. Installation was especially easy because the mounting slots on the Lux aligned with existing wall holes from my old thermostat. The package even included small lettered & numbered flags so I could tag existing wires (sticker ‘W’ on wire attached to terminal ‘W,’ etc.) before removing the old thermostat! The TX1500E provides 5/1/1 (Mon-Fri/Sat/Sun) and ‘Special’ modes, each of which allows temperature programming changes at four different times. ‘Special’ mode lets you switch over to a range of settings that you’ve programmed for when you want to quickly override daily settings. I like the notched circle molded into the door which prevents the door from closing in ‘Special’ mode, a passive reminder which lessens the chance of you accidentally leaving it there long-term.I am quite pleased with this thermostat and recommend it to anyone who wants a programmable thermostat with a solid, basic feature set. Choose a different model if you want to set Mon-Fri individually, or switch automatically between ‘Cool’ and ‘Heat’ modes: I have no need for either feature and appreciate the programming simplicity of this model.Installation tips:* The new thermostat – as did the existing one – rocked a bit on the wall when I pushed buttons. I felt this would eventually work the drywall screw anchors loose so I stuck two strip of thin foam on the back of the base – horizontally above and below the screws – before final installation: it now feels nice and tight on the wall!* Internal clearance is tight so take extra care when routing wires and stuffing excess back into the wall or it’s a pain snapping the main unit into the base. This was probably the most time-consuming stage of the installation.
