Using it mounted on my handlebar (after first using the helmet straps).
Have used it several times now and used the cables provided to transfer the photos and videos to my PC. Everything gets easier with repetition. Any frustrations this 66-year-old had were easily solved with a google search and plenty of help videos on-line.It is pretty amazing how clear and in focus the photos are. I can easily zoom in for details when viewing those photos. The basic 128gb Memory Card I bought has been more than enough to last between downloads. My setup took some time. I had to move a few thinks on the already crowded handlebars so I could place the Camera, see my bike’s GPS/Computer, Phone and still reach the bell. I loaded the Ap on my Phone and using the Wi-Fi controlled the camera and used it to view or preview the camera’s images and choose between ‘photo’ or ‘video’.The AP will let you know when the battery is running low so you can stop and swap in a fresh one before it has to drop out the Wi-Fi. Plan on about 30 minutes unless you have upgraded batteries.Mounting on the handlebar was so much better that the helmet and it goes unnoticed. When it was on my helmet, everyone looked at me and asked questions about it (I felt like a roving reporter, luckily the AP allowed me to stop the video).FYI: if you are mounting to a Road Bike with thicker handlebars …. what I did was, separate the plastic covers from 2 of the longer screws, then cut about 1/4″ off of the tips of the plastic, slide the covers back on and now those screws were effectively 1/4″ longer, which allowed me to fasten the mounting to the handlebars.Have fun and keep playing with it,Here is what I shared after the very first use:Used it just once. Haven’t off-loaded or uploaded the first set of videos yet. Hoping that that is easy. There are 3 different cable connections. The only cable provided (correction, all the cables were there) was for charging the Batteries which each only lasted for 30 minutes of video so I expect I will be getting emails about buying higher capacity batteries. There is a connection to the camera for a USB-C cable and another connection on the remote that matched my old phone’s cable, so I used that (the cables were all in the package, I was just overwhelmed with so many parts and cables). There are 7 mount options and several straps. It would have been nice if the bicycle connection could handle the thicker handlebars of my road bike (solved this one, see above), so I strapped it on my helmet instead.I used the AKASO AP on my phone and with a handlebar mount for the phone I was able to control the camera that way. Could not yet figure out how to set it up to take a photo every 3, 5 or 10 seconds. The instructions appear pretty spare. Perhaps YouTube or the AKASO AP will help me get there. Why am I giving feedback so early? I just registered the warranty, and it asked me to share my thoughts now. Hope that I’ll learn a lot in the next few weeks and remember to come back here and updating my review. By the way, this unit (Brave 7) does not come with the clear plastic waterproof case, so I can’t rate water resistance and have no intention of using it in the water.

Affordable Waterproof Action Cam
I debated between the GoPro Hero and various Akaso models and ended up on realizing I simply needed an affordable action cam that was waterproof, so I went with the Brave 7. I was going on a trip to FL so water was in its future.I ordered a couple 128GB highspeed micrsoSD cards for it as well. It came well packaged and with a ton of accessories. The documentation, which you get online, is precise and well written. Tip: donât throw away the foam cover that it comes with, it can be used for wind noise reduction. The model is well reviewed on other platforms so I was able to get enough information on how to set it up and the best settings for it. The touch screen is easy to use and is responsive. I turned off the wind noise reduction feature, with it on, audio just cut in and out and it did not seem to work. The image stabilization worked great, I really liked how I didnât need a gimble for it at all.On the FL trip I used it to film walking on the beach, in the city, playing in the ocean, ( and yes its waterproof, at least down a couple feet), driving in a car mounted on the windshield, and to take a couple pictures. I ended up on 2.7k/30fps as a good resolution for shooting most video. The best video you are going to get out of it will be in good sunlight, outdoors. It is after all, an action camera meant to be used outdoors ð The batteries seemed to last a decent while, weâll see how the longevity of them will be over time. The only small gripe I have is the SD/USB slot door, itâs a bit tricky to get shut, you have to do this push in and slide up maneuver to get it to click back in place. I can only assume its due to the waterproofing material. Its not a huge deal as I donât take the SD card out super often, its just something you have plan for if you are in a hurry to swap SD cards.I did download the AKASO GO app on my iPhone and it seems to work OK, but I havenât yet used it extensively yet. The accessories seem to be good, if you need them. The remote control is useful if you have it mounted to like a helmet or somewhere you donât want to have to constant be hit the record button. It survived the trip and being used in a saltwater ocean without a case, I just made sure to wash it off with cold tap water after each ocean use. It also performed well in 110 degree heat, I just made sure I didnât use it for hours at a time in that heat, so it didnât get too hot. The pictures it took, with using the widest angle, were crisp and it was nice to get a wider field of vision than youâd get from a phone.Overall Iâd recommend this camera to someone who is looking for a affordable action cam to use for travel in damp and wet environments. Iâm happy with it and will continue to use it for my adventures.

Akaso Brave 7 Action Camera Review
I decided to try out the Akaso Brave 7 action camera as an alternative to my previous GoPro cameras, largely due to its competitive price and positive reviews. After testing it, Iâm impressed with its overall performance for the price point. The video quality is decent, and the camera performs well for most situations. While the microphone quality isnât on par with more expensive models, this isnât a dealbreaker for me as I typically use external audio solutions for high-quality sound. One of the standout features is the value-packed accessories. The Brave 7 includes two batteries, a charging dock, a wireless remote, and multiple mounting options, which makes it ready to use right out of the box without needing additional purchases. Itâs a great deal compared to some competitors where accessories are sold separately.Shopping through Amazon was convenient, with quick shipping and easy setup. Based on this experience, I plan to purchase additional Akaso cameras in the future to expand my gear collection. For anyone looking for a budget-friendly action camera with solid features, the Brave 7 is worth considering.

Daughter purchased, took on vacation, and never got the product to work. Impossible to navigate any support

Good product for the price I paid and the number of accessories comes with it is amazing. Camera looks good and the video quality is good. Easy to use and the menu navigation is simple. Touch screen works great.

For its price, there is a ton of accessories, and the video taken is quite decent. The unit feels well built.Problem is that the one I received has issue turning on the wifi – it gets stuck on the screen, and I have to manually reset the camera to get it back to a responsive state. No way I can turn on the wifi, it hangs the entire unit. App connectivity is a key reason I bought this. Contacting tech support, hopefully this gets resolved.
