I like it
All right, I’m not some techy who can rattle off all the technical stuff for you. I’m just a busy single mom and business owner, and I specifically ordered this for my business. I love the big screen. It’s the biggest screen I’ve had on a laptop. I have an extensive raised setup for my laptop then I use an external keyboard and mouse. I have learned in all my years with laptops the keys on the laptop just get all messed up. That’s why I started using external keyboards, because the keys would stop working. Then I realized how amazing it is to type with an external keyboard and I’ll never go back to typing on the laptop itself. Set up with super easy and I followed the instructions. The battery doesn’t last super long with this big computer, but it seems to last longer than I expected. I have to keep reminding myself to unplug the power source so it has an opportunity to go dead versus being plugged in 24/7 as I messed up my last computer by forgetting to do that. What’s great us this computer also reminds me sometimes to unplug the cord which I didn’t realize until later. So far I’m just using basic features such as word, calculator, browser connected to my business, and YouTube for music. I set up an external speaker because the computer speakers are not really that loud for music. I had no problem setting up my regular and label printer everything connected nicely. I haven’t noticed any issues, and I didn’t have any problems setting things up or things crashing. I’m not really a fan of when you first do the required registration with windows how it connects to your previous Windows experience and remembered things. I haven’t had a new laptop in 6 years so I haven’t really seen what has happened with Windows since then. Once I set everything up and it was ready to go the screensaver I had on the last laptop was remembered and put on this one and it was just alarming to me and I am not a fan of that spying sort of stuff. I don’t like those robotic personal assistants either. Technology has just been pushing the limits a little too much and I don’t like people in my business. I wish computers came with free Microsoft office like they used to because all I could get was a 30 day free trial. We pay enough so I think they should be included. Anyway, so far I’m happy with it.

Great laptop for movies and shows on the go
I bought it to watch movies and TV shows while I’m at work at sea. The 17 inch screen is big enough that I don’t need a TV in my room. The screen is bright enough to see even with the lights on and the movies play great. I’m not a huge tech guy, but for me it’s great. The Sound is loud enough with the laptop speakers, but it has Bluetooth so I use my portable speaker and it sounds fantastic. All in all a great laptop for movies and shows on the go. It’s lightweight without feeling cheaply made.

Good value
I went back to Asus after buying a Lenovo for myself and one for my wife, and being utterly disgusted with the Lenovo, it’s a POSI ordered the used Asus laptop, for under $200. I received an X712DAP model, far quicker than promised, in excellent condition. It booted quickly, and worked well.I looked in advance to see about upgrades. It absolutely WILL accept a 16GB memory upgrade, and I had a Crucial stick left over from the POS Lenovo. It installed quickly and easily, the gain in speed was substantial.I was disappointed in the 256GB NVME SSD. However, for under $100, I bought a Western Digital Black gaming SSD, with 1TB capacity. I was able to clone the OE SSD to the WD Black SSD, and easily swapped it in. A quick use of Disk Management in Windows 10 allowed full access to the full 1TB.There are a couple of downsides, the keyboard is NOT backlit, as others have stated, and the visibility is pretty poor. Also, it doesn’t have a port for a LAN cable. The wifi works well, though, and with multiple USB ports, you can connect LAN that way.Given the original $200 price, I was not disappointed. And having spent a total of $110 for a hard drive and memory upgrade, I’m happy with a $325 or so 17″ laptop. It’s only got a Ryzen 3 3250 CPU, and a mediocre on board Radeon graphics chip, so you’re not looking at a high end laptop. But for what I invested, I’m more than satisfied. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Great So Far!
Easy to set up right out of the box. Screen is clear and crisp. I have had no issues so far (only had it a couple of weeks). This computer is a great size, quick and so quiet I don’t even know it is on. Overall very satisfied.

Great value!
You turn it on and BOOM! It’s up and fully running. No waiting for everything to load. The screen quality is excellent. Vivid colors. The keyboard is NOT backlit as I expected, but I am guessing they meant the screen is backlit. I have had this for a few days, so I don’t know how durable it is, but, so far I am highly impressed. Also, bear in mind that I am not a gamer, just a regular Internet use and productivity applications for work. I haven’t a clue how well it would handle games.

Good computer with serious ergonomic flaws
I am not a great touch typist, so I need to see the letters on the keyboard. If I’m in a well-lit room, I can’t see the letters at all unless I look straight down at the keyboard (and not at the display!!!!)And it does NOT have a backlit keyboard. That deficit alone would have earned this a 2-star rating. Fortunately, if the screen is bright enough and the room is not, then the angle I’m seeing the keyboard at will allow me to easily make out the shadows of the lightly etched characters as the light reflects from the display. Also, for some utterly inexplicable reason, there is no keyboard light to indicate the Num Lock status — even though there is one for Caps Lock. Was the designer asleep when they decided to do this?If they can tell me how to get around these issues, then i might upgrade it to 4 stars. The battery manageer is wildly inaccurate. It said I had 5.5 hours left. An hour later it said I had 2.5 hours left. 5 minute later it said 5 hours.Other than that, the display quality is excellent and the computer works as expected. Although I should add that I do not use it for gaming so I can’t speak to its graphics qualities in that respect.
