Let me start off by saying that I did a lot of research and watched a lot of reviews on these speakers before buying them. And it is clear that there are basically two types of people that Audioengine attracted in this offering; Audiophiles, and luxury minimalists. (I am in that second category).Some audiophiles don’t mind them, but as with any all-in-one offering, they complained that the price to performance was not there.For myself though, the value is excellent. I don’t have golden ears and I do not care to spend any more time than I have to tinkering around with hardware or software to get that “perfect” sound. I want to buy audio equipment and I want it to sound good out of the box. And these DELIVER!The entire experience is premium. The packaging was excellent, the green finish on my unit was immaculate and has an absolutely lovely luxurious matte finish that feels durable. They feel nice and dense and solidly built in the hand. The hardware and controls on the back of the main speaker feel so smooth yet sturdy. They also do not take up hardly any room at all on my desk. And it is as simple as plugging in the power, connecting the two halves via the included copper wire, and then pairing it to my computers bluetooth. There is an option to connect via USB, which I had originally planned to use, but I tried the bluetooth first to see if I would like it. I loved it.The speakers sound fantastic right out of the box. Admittedly though, I do like to EQ my music a bit to try to push the bass and highs. These speakers handle it with ease and have rich and deep bass that is perfectly sufficient for any personal desk setup.Are they a bit on the expensive side for the raw performance? Yes. But they offer a near perfect user experience that instills pride and confidence. It is a joy to look at and use these speakers on a daily basis and it is so easy to switch between all my audio sources thanks to the bluetooth connectivity.That being said, bluetooth is ideal for music and casual youtube. There is a slight but noticeable latency that would make gaming or movie watching annoying. But that is fixed by just using the USB input instead.And for the more adventurous out there, yes these work just fine on Linux and Nintendo Switch 2.If these ever got stolen, lost or damaged by my own negligence, I would absolutely go buy another pair without hesitation.

Unos altavoces que sorprenden por su tama;o compacto y en persona se nota la calidad. Muy bien hecho, un tamaño perfecto para el escritorio. Tengo un altavoz a cada lado y ocupan poco. Compre unos pies de esos para ponerlo en angulo y amortiguar un poco las vibraciones y genial. Me he quedado flipando con la calidad del sonido y poder destinguir las difirentes tonalidades y instrumentos en las canciones. Lo que como en otros comentarios carece mucho de los bajos, y ha he pedido el subwoofer de la marca para compensar y tener un equipo de sonido completo. Pero como digo estos altavoces estan muy completos y de una alta calidad.

After months of putting off buying speakers and many hours searching the web, reading reviews on a range of desktop speakers i finally decided on the Audioengine A2+ speakers. I cant say you’d be disappointed with the choice, at least i wasn’t in the slightest!First off the unboxing was impressive, with the speakers coming secured well in protective packaging and wrapped in microfibre cloth soft to the touch, with another 2 microfibre bags storing the connecting wires, the first impressions oozed a premium feel with these great microfibre carrying bags.The little speakers pack great audio, with a well rounded and crisp range of sound and considering the size of these little guys the base isn’t bad at all! if you’re a hardcore basehead you may need an external sub but for the regular user for the home office these are perfect in this size and produce amazing sound these put out considering their small form factor. Any audiophile will appreciate this great desk addition and make sitting at your desk all that more inviting and leaving you not want to get out your seat!The design of these blend in and look and feel very study, solid and most important quality. The problem i found personally when looking for desktop speakers is the majority don’t compliment the desk and look out of place, tend to not look at nice and feel a bit cheap. This is certainly not the case with the A2s, they are a good weight in the hand, and the finish of the speakers is high end, from the smooth outer shell encasing the entire body to the drivers and back panels, you can tell these are premium quality and they sound as good as they look if not better! I wouldn’t expect these to produce any rattle from weight of them allowing for vibration dampening through the padded underside on the bottoms. The volume control to the rear left isn’t so much an issue at all, i adjust it to a certain level on the back and then control the volume though the device i’m using over bluetooth so turning the volume up or down can be done without issue.The setup was super simple to install and connect up to my devices, 5 minute job connecting the power and cable between the speakers and then pairing up to them with a bluetooth device.While they are some of the most pricey speakers when compared to its competitors in this range i believe them to be worth it. The build, sound, easy of use and looks of them top all my expectations and an investment well made with these 10/10 speakers!

The sound and stereo separation is excellent – especially considering their size.Clear and musical sound comes out of these small speakers.To get real low-end bass you absolutely need a subwoofer which I got as well from Audioengine. Perfect match.So far so good, but when I plug in my headphones in the 3,5 mm jack the subwoofer goes berserk and makes a loud boom sound. Every time. You need to turn off the speakers before plugging in the headphones if you are using a subwoofer, unless you want to scare the dog and all the neighbors.Fortunately I’m using an external DAC and headphone preamp with these speakers – so the above problem is only academic for me.
