Fast, easy setup, lots of ports, multiple display ports
Easy setup without any issues. Plugged in everything that I needed to and it all worked without having to fiddle with.Update: about three months in the wifi started to drop out. Some days things would stay connected all day and the next day they would only stay connected for a couple of minutes, then I would have to reconnect. A new wifi card corrected this. Was easy to install, computer recognised everything and setup without issues. Although there are no open F-usb connections on motherboard to connect new cards bluetooth. Had to do a cable adapter work around to outside usb. No major, just annoying.

So far, so good
It’s hard to rate a computer because in the beginning most are great. Time will tell. I wish I had paid closer attention to the fact that it does not have any SD card slots however. Easy enough to remedy with an external device but that is not my first choice.Other than that, it’s running well, set up was relatively easy. Still learning the in’s and out’s of Windows 11, which in some ways, causes me more work and extra steps to take for simple tasks like saving/renaming images etc. Not impressed with that aspect at all…..but that’s the software, not the computer itself.I am dismayed that when I bring my images into Photoshop it tells me my graphics card isn’t sufficient….this is one of the reasons I bought a new computer to begin with. I can still use the software but unsure how that is affecting the overall usage. This model was rated as being good for the kind of work that I do with photography, so that’s something other photographers may want to look closely at before purchasing this model.

So Far, It’s Great
This desktop computer is very fast and reliable so far. I’ll update this review as we go along, but so far, it’s worth the money. It’s not cheap, but you tend to get what you pay for when it comes to electronics.

This is a used reconditioned PC with no Dell warranty
This product works very well but rating is down from 5 stars as I discovered it is not a new product. You could probably buy used for cheaper. This product is listed on Amazon as new. I am not a gamer. I use my Vostro with Microsoft 365, bitlocker, and video and photo editing software. My Vostro came with mini display port to display port adapter and a mini display port to HDMI adapter cord. Mini display ports transmit both sound and picture.I always update my PCs from the manufacturer’s website. After installing Dell Support Assist and installing Dell updates I learned that the warranty on this PC ended in July 2024. I took delivery on September 2024. My settings System Panel shows Windows 11 Pro was installed on my Vostro on 9/1/2024. There was no more warranty to transfer. I transferred titled so the PC is listed in my Dell Products. Dell is a class act and allowed me to installed Dell Support Assist and updated my drivers. The NVIDIA Quadro K1200 graphics card was a bit tricky. I discovered my Vostro also has the Intel 770 Integrated Graphics installed and active. The intel graphics control the regular HDMI and Display Ports. The Quadro controls the mini Display Ports. Good news is the Vostro was delivered with a mini display port to HDMI cord as well as a mini display port to full size display port adapter. The NVIDIA control panel software only works if you are using one or more mini display ports. Updating the Quadro required me to register an account in the NVIDIA website and install NVIDIA RTX Experience software. This allowed me to update my Quadro drivers.I was able to install a 2TB HDD and expand storage memory. However you need a longer SATA cable to do this. The 3 inch blue SATA cable inside the Vostro is too short. A six inch SATA Cable should do the trick. I downloaded the Vostro service and specifications manual from Dell. The removal and installation of HDD showed a Seagate HDD. Amazon sells the Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD. I viewed the Seagate Barracuda listing on Amazon and there was a good video that revealed you need mounting screws to secure the drive to the chassis. I bought some from a local computer repair shop.I decided to keep the Vostro because performance and reliability was more important than a new warranty. I was able to get it updated and add it to my products in my Dell Dashboard. It replaced a Dell XPS with a processor incompatible with Windows 11. My new Vostro has Windows 11 Pro with bitlocker, so I feel secure migrating to paperless statements. Bitlocker was not that hard to figure out. My Vostro came with 32 Gb of RAM which is enough for me. Both the NVIDIA graphics card and Intel integrated graphics are HDCP compliant. They work well with my blu-ray writer and Cyberlink software to play copyrighted Blu-ray movies between my installed monitors. I chose to use the NVDIA card hoping this will help the intel chipset run cooler. With a proper length SATA cable, adding an HDD is pretty forward. The Vostro service and specifications manual warns you have to remove the side panel to install the HDD. However you also have to remove the front panel to have the same setup as illustrated for HDD removal and installation. The Vostro contained a mini display port to HDMI cable and a mini display port to standard display port adapter.
