Didn’t Even Get Past the Initial Setup
Laptop was broken from the start. It seemed to boot ok when I first turned it on, but shortly into the initial setup process the screen turned black. Every once in a while it would come on long enough for me to type a few letters, then it would go out again. After 4 or 5 times of this, it stopped coming back on. I tried hooking up an external monitor, plugging/unplugging, and rebooting, but no luck. I didn’t even make it past the microsoft login. Now I have to box it back up for return and potentially wait up to 30 days for a refund (according to the amazon page during the return process). Meanwhile, I feel like I should be getting paid for my wasted time

Solid laptop with high end graphics processsor at just 4.9lb for gamers on the go
We received this gaming laptop and spent a few hours updating windows and the drivers. Be sure to both update your BIOS, NVIDIA drivers and all your Windows updates to get the best out of the machine. The laptop comes preinstalled with a BIOS update tool (GiMate) that was helpful in this. After installing Steam, we tried out Baldur’s Gate 3 to give the NVIDIA 5070 card a work out. I can report that it both looks and runs beautifully. We had zero issue running BG3 and other more recent and graphically intense games like Expedition 33. This is definitely more of a gaming laptop as it has packed in a high end graphics processor into a modest sized, sub 5lb laptop. However the battery life really wont last long between the GPU and the big 16 inch monitor its toting if you’re playing on the battery alone. So we make sure to plug it in when doing intensive gaming or video tasks and use the unplugged battery for only light browsing or Youtube on the couch.Definitely a great laptop for a gamer that likes to travel and still play where they’re staying at. The laptop has a lot of USB, display ports, and a dedicated ethernet port as well. We had zero issues doing plug-in play with multiple mouse types and bluetooth keyboards, or connecting to different WiFis. The screen is large at 16inches, very nice and bright, running at an impressive 165Hz and 1920×1200 which is great for fast gaming like FPS games.Everything on the laptop has worked great after updating all our drivers. No complaints. Be sure to get a good mouse to go with this as the touch pad, while very large, isn’t very suitable for most games. And because this is a gaming laptop it has some serious fans built in to help cool the machine down and you can definitely hear them boot up and a whirling sound during high graphical performance. It’s not the most quiet fans, but its not terrible either — similar to hearing the sound of rain outside a window. The heat level is manageable if just browsing. You are able to use the laptop on your lap easily for basic browsing and it doesn’t heat up badly at all. But for gaming it definitely gets pretty hot and I recommend you use a table. So far so good. It seems to be a well balanced laptop that’s geared much more towards gaming than for battery longevity, so keep that in mind. The graphics card inside definitely delivers performance on par or close to my desktop RTX 4080 which is impressive. Overall I’d say this is a solid gamer laptop to give to a gaming minded college student or someone that you know needs to travel or move around a lot but that wants to keep their competitive edge. By the way, if you get tired of the bright color changing keyboard, you can easily turn it off by holding the Fn key + the spacebar 🙂

Good price and performance, but with serious issues
This laptop offers top gaming performance at a very good price. However, I’ve had constant issues with my USB devices (mouse, headset, keyboard) randomly disconnecting, and have also witnessed a full system freeze while playing a game, so I’m returning it.Also, there’s almost nothing that can be configured in the BIOS, and Gigabyte’s own Windows software GCE doesn’t support this laptop.

Perfect for my gamer child
Got this as a Christmas gift for my child and they were so excited about all the features. Having fun playing their favorite games with speed and great graphics.

Good
Not enough USB ports, great overall, after a year battery life is not very good. Great for gaming, gets a bit toasty and brightness isnt that good, but is adjustable.

Battery is terrible
The battery lasts less than two hours unless you have a setting turned on that lowers the quality of games. Even then itâs like 3.5 hours. It gets very, very loud too. Otherwise it seems to perform okay so far. Iâm a little nervous about it. Hopefully when I get used to it Iâll love it.
