Good purchase
I wanted a plug timer for my ambient lights to come on every evening. I didn’t want to have to deal with having to download any extra apps on my phone or deal with bluetooth so I tried the mechanical ones first, but they made an annoying ticking noise. So I ended up settling for these. Thankfully, the set-up was easy and the app was intuitive and had a bunch of control options. Works as intended and price was fair.

Great for Christmas decorations! Love that I can turn on and off from anywhere in my house, and I can program random lights when Iâm gone. Super easy to use, set up and manage through the app.

Love these. I like for my lights to turn on in the evening if Iâm not home yet so the scheduling feature is great. Also love that I can leave all the lights on while getting ready to leave or for bed and just shut them all off with the app without going around the house turning everything off.

Somewhat tricky to program. Subroutines within the on cycles can turn the plug on and off to give, I suppose, a âlived-inâ look but setting these can be complicated. Overall, though, a very nice and dependable way of automating lighting.

Great little smart plugs with an easy to use app. It was easy to connect them to my wifi but I can turn the plug on/off, set a timer, etc while on data; it even works when I’m at work.You can turn the plug on and set a timer that will turn it off – this DOES show up as ‘plug will turn on in __ mintues’ – don’t worry, the plug will indeed turn off! The timer function will make the plug do the opposite of whatever it’s doing when you set the timer – if the plug is off it will turn on, if it’s on it will turn off.You can name the plugs to keep them straight, I use it to run a small space heater in my bedroom, it’s been doing great for months.Much happier with the functionality of these over my previous ones – if I ever need more smart plugs I’ll get more of these!

I recently invested in a set of Globe Electric Wi-Fi Smart Plugs. They’ve been put to the test over the past week, and the verdict is out – they perform admirably, though the initial set-up process was more complicated than anticipated.Firstly, let’s talk about the set-up process. It’s important to note that the conventional methods outlined in the product manual did not work for me. Both the fast blink “EZ Pair” mode and the slow blink AP mode, where I was supposed to connect directly to the smart plug, failed to yield successful results.However, a bit of perseverance got me through. After resetting the plugs by holding down the power button (this was necessary for all four of them), they did eventually appear in the Bluetooth auto discovery feature of the app, much to my relief.The plugs operate on a 2.4 GHz frequency. An interesting point to note is that the app seems to insist that the phone be connected to a similar 2.4 GHz network for the set-up process. I faced some challenges when my 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks had the same SSID. This peculiarity finally compelled me to segregate my home WiFi into a dedicated 2.4 GHz IoT network. While other smart plugs on the market can work around the SSID issue, this was a hurdle for the Globe Electric plugs.Having moved past the setup hurdles, I’ve been very pleased with the plugs’ day-to-day functionality. They are responsive, reliable, and have successfully integrated into my growing IoT network. In fact, these plugs are the 14th through 17th devices I’ve added to my 2.4 GHz network. Despite the significant amount of traffic on my home network, they’ve held their ground remarkably well, proving their mettle in a crowded airwave space.In summary, while the initial setup process could have been smoother, I’m happy to report that the Globe Electric Wi-Fi Smart Plugs have delivered commendable performance since then. They’re now a valuable part of my connected home ecosystem, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform in the long run.
