Google Pixel 9a is engineered by Google with more than you expect, for less than you think; like Gemini, your built-in AI assistant[1], the incredible Pixel Camera, and an all-day battery and durable design[2]
Take amazing photos and videos with the Pixel Camera, and make them better than you can imagine with Google AI; get great group photos with Add Me and Best Take[4,5]; and use Macro Focus for spectacular images of tiny details like raindrops and flowers
Google Pixel’s Adaptive Battery can last over 30 hours[2]; turn on Extreme Battery Saver and it can last up to 100 hours, so your phone has power when you need it most[2]
Get more info quickly with Gemini[1]; instead of typing, use Gemini Live; it follows along even if you change the topic[8]; and save time by asking Gemini to find info across your Google apps, like Maps, Calendar, Gmail, and YouTube Music[7]
Pixel 9a can handle spills, dust, drops, and dings; and with IP68 water and dust protection and a scratch-resistant display, it’s the most durable Pixel A-Series phone yet[6]
Unlocked Android 5G smartphone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan[3]; it works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers
Google Pixel 9a comes with 7 years of OS and security updates, and new and upgraded features with Pixel Drops, so it keeps getting better and more secure over time[9,10]
With Pixel Call Assist, you can hear callers more clearly, avoid unwanted calls, speed through call menus, and more[11]
If theft is detected, Pixel automatically locks to keep your info safe; it can also detect a car crash and call for help, connect you with emergency services[12], and help prevent scams, phishing, and malware[28]

Very very nice phone
I really really like this phone. I have a lot of great things to say about the phone. The quality is really nice and feels premium even though the materials used are not as expensive. Cameras are decent to get a good shot as long as you are using it correctly. Performance and using the phone around the menus is really smooth when paired up with that 120hz refresh. The screen resolution feels like a high end phone I think the pixel per Inch really shines on this phone and makes everything look as if 2k on the higher end phones. Call quality is as good as other phones. And has a nice battery.I would have wished to have smaller bezels but as soon as you put a glass protector and case you don’t really notice it and specially on the black.

Good phone with awesome features
Have been a pixel user for several years, starting with the 3a. I always buy the A versions because they do everything I need or want at an economical price. The camera takes great pics and the night sight setting is the best thing ever.

Beware Fastboot Mode
During the initial setup of this device, the phone restarted and said “erasing” without any prompting from me. Then it was stuck in a “fastboot mode” boot loop, with no way out (I tried recovery mode and rescue mode). I even attempted to flash the device via USB, but I hadn’t been quick enough to enable OEM unlock in the developer settings while the operating system was still functional. This is meant as a theft-deterrence feature, but it was triggered on a brand new device ð¤¦.In hindsight, I see lots of other one star reviews like this one that point out the same issue.I returned my device and I’ve gone with the pixel 9 instead.

Great phone and great battery life
Works great, easy to setup. No issues at all, very happy with the Pixel 9a. Battery on first day – 16 hours of use and still had over 50% when I went to bed.

Disappointed Google Fan
Bought this mainly for the camera, but disappointed with the phone overall. Don’t really feel like buying or recommending Pixel phones anymore. With the restrictions mentioned below, not much different from or beneficial over an iPhone. What’s great:* Good camera* Good battery* Good speed* Smooth operation* Less junkwareWhat disappointed:* No more free unlimited Google Photos storage for Pixel users* Screen mirroring is locked to Chromecast; will not cast/mirror to Roku or Fire Stick or anything that uses Miracast* Pixel Launcher is pretty restrictive to what you can change; I hate the Google search bar on the bottom; cannot move it to the top, nor even edit its lookWhat I knew was coming, but still disappointed:* I don’t like the on-screen fingerprint; rear fingerprint is the best; side fingerprint is tolerable; front is the worst â looks ugly with most phone cases or screen protectors (see attached image)* No 3.5mm headphone jack; you need to buy a USB-C headphone or a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter

Great phone, great value
For five years I enjoyed my Pixel 4a, a compact 128 GB 4G phone. However, I recently destroyed it when I unintentionally took it for a swim in the ocean, so it was time for an upgrade. I first considered the 8a, but when I saw the low cost of Googleâs newest phone, the absence of an annoying camera bar on the back, and the many rave reviews on YouTube, I was sold on the 9a. It delivers remarkable performance without most of the trade-offs that come with midrange phones. This isnât a flagship, nor with only 8 GB of RAM is it intended for intensive gamers, but it does everything I need and does it well. And Google automatically reloaded every one of my apps, files, and settings from the cloud! The Pixel 9a checks all the boxes: an unlocked, modestly sized 5G device with a clean, simple design in four available colors. It includes the AI assistant Gemini and the newest Google apps and operating system (Android 15) with seven years of system and security updates, as well as the same fast Tensor G4 chipset and bright, sharp, smooth 120 Hz display featured on the model 9. The 9a is equipped with outstanding cameras and camera software and a best-in-class battery (even better than the 9 Pro) for extra-long life. The unit offers strong resistance to water, dust, and scratches, in addition to wireless charging and oodles of storage. All this at an unbeatable price! The 256 GB version I bought came with a $100 Amazon gift card, effectively reducing its price to $499, the same as the 128 GB model.I do have three caveats: the bezel on the screen seems unnecessarily thick, wireless charging is much slower than wired charging, and there is noticeable grain in low-light videos, but none of these are deal-breakers for me. And I must respond to a previous reviewer who also owned a 4a and claimed that the 9a is too big, that itâs design is unoriginal, and that it lacks a headphone jack and a behind-the-screen fingerprint reader. While not as small or light as my old Pixel, itâs only slightly larger and heavier (allowing for a bigger battery), and it fits my hand perfectly. As for the headphone jack and fingerprint reader, weâre in the third decade of the 20th century: wired headphones are history and on-screen fingerprint readers are standard. Finally, for many users like me, the minimalist design is a plus: less is more!

Easy setup, fast shipping
Works great and was super easy to transfer all of my stuff from a non working Google phone to this one. Google had saved everything and I was able to transfer it all to this phone! I love that the camera is flat. Feels a lot safer and harder to break than the cameras that stick out more from the back.

The Google Pixels never fail to impress. Comfortable in the hand, the screen is easy on the eyes. Tonnes of excellent features and display customizations in the OS, mine came with Android 15. The battery life and battery management of this thing is amazing. Supports 45W rapid charging and Qi wireless charging.
Amazon Customer –
The phone arrived in a amazon box with no cushioning material and was free to move in it, however it looked ok. Few minutes after the fist start, while on the initial setup menu, the phone rebooted with an “erase” message screen. After that, it was stuck on the Fastboot mode. I tried multiple solution including the factory reset with no luck as even the Recovery mode resulted in a ‘boot failure’.

Coming from an iPhone for over 14 years, not using an Android during that period, this phone is beautiful and feels natural. What I like:- Lightweight- screen is vivid and viewable in direct sunlight- battery lasts all day with heavy usage- AI features ( Removing people and objects from images is amazing )- NO CAMERA BUMP- Video playback is beautifulWhat I don’t like- Ordering from Amazon you’re NOT eligible for device protection from Google.- Camera quality is decent but not the greatest- Video Quality is decent, but once again, not the greatest but for a budget phone it’s perfectly fine.- speakers are a little tinnyI think this is overall a great phone, will be able to handle everyday usage, watching videos, texting, doom scrolling etc this will definitely meet your every need. I’m looking forward to using this for the next couple weeks a debating if this will replace my iPhone.Edit: I did return the device mainly due to the fact you can not get googles extended warranty – and I prefer iOS over Android
