Excellent Christmas gift
This GOTRAX XR Ultra is definitely a âBuyâ, not a âPassâ. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my teenaged granddaughter. I own 2 other GOTRAX scooters, and have been very pleased with the quality, value, and performance, so I figured that this XR Ultra would be a solid performer. I was not disappointed. Here is my experience.I received the XR Ultra within 3 days of placing my order on November 25, 2022. The current stated Amazon delivery lead time remains at 3 days. It is important to note that GOTRAX is able to provide timely delivery because they have a physical presence in multiple locations throughout the United States, and their staff is apparently on top of their business. Dealing with local / regional representation tends to assure timely customer service.The scooter arrived securely packed, and undamaged. My final assembly took very little time and was not complicated, as the scooter arrived almost completely assembled. I only needed to install the handlebar, and connect the brake cable to the brake lever. This required the use of one Allen wrench, which was provided. It was a very simple task. The battery charge indicator showed a full four bars.This model has a mechanical rear brake, which I have found to be very effective. Braking is smooth and linear relative to the force applied to the brake lever. I weigh 200 pounds, and I found this brake to bring the scooter from its top speed of over 15 MPH to a full stop in a reasonably short distance. (I didnât measure it, but the braking distance is comparable to that provided by my other 2 GOTRAX scooters.)The cruise control feature is handy, and is a great value-added feature for a scooter at this price point.The overall build quality is excellent, and the scooter feels very solid. The materials are very good quality, as is the paint job. Battery performance is on-par with my other 2 scooters, which is very good. GOTRAX uses LG batteries, which are top quality. The battery charger is the same model number as the others that I received with my previous GOTRAX scooter purchases, so I expect great long-term reliability from it.In short, this XR Ultra does not disappoint. My experience with GOTRAX has been very good. There is a consistency of build quality in their product line that has carried through to this model. The quality and performance of this XR Ultra is on par with that of my other 2 GOTRAX scooters, both of which were more expensive models. I would not put my granddaughter on anything less than the best.

Extremely Adequate w/ Great Customer Serivice
UPDATED REVIEW:The scooter is okay. It goes. Apparently the issue with the last one was that I wasnât clear on the fact that you need to push off and have the scooter in motion before the throttle will engage. That being said, my criticisms of the design of the collapsing mechanism and locking clip stands. Also the motor is a little loud, but for a scooter in this price range, it is decent.The thing I am most impressed with is the Customer Service. After I returned the original scooter, I put the whole experience out of mind. Then out of the blue I was contacted by a company rep apologizing for my negative experience and offering me a free replacement which they overnighted to me. Out of all the things I have bought and returned over the years, never have I been as impressed by a companyâs effort to ensure satisfaction. If you buy this scooter and encounter an issue, donât send it back. Call them and I am sure theyâll be able to resolve any issues you may be having.Original Review:Bought this scooter during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend sale. Got it today and was pretty stoked. Put it together (following the simple, easy-to-comprehend instructions), turned it on, console powered up, headlight came on, read a full battery. Tried the throttle, didn’t work.”Well, that sucks.”, I said to myself, but no problem because I’m an Amazon Prime member and they’re generally pretty quick with getting a replacement sent out. I go to file for a return/exchange, but I am not given the option to just request a replacement. I CAN exchange it for the same product but in a different color (grey) but they want to charge me a $55 difference in price because I bought this one on sale and now they’re not on sale. To which I said “Nope.” and opted to return for a refund.So, my initial impressions of the scooter (cuz I have a few just from putting it together):The latching clip for when the scooter is folded feels cheap and like it might snap easily. Also, the part on the tiller was slightly askew from the part on the fender so it was not easy to unlatch. The folding of the scooter is a little awkward because you have to pull out a pin and also hit a release lever both located at the base of the tiller. The instructions don’t mention pressing the lever, but instead say to pull the pin then turn it counter-clockwise, which I did but it didn’t do anything. It wasn’t until I pressed the red lever while the pin was pulled that the scooter collapsed. I will give them that the headlight is very powerful.All in all, I’m pretty bummed I didn’t actually get to ride this scooter. It’s got pretty decent ratings so I’m assuming it might be a good one. I don’t fault the company so much, I work in manufacturing and I understand sometimes a bad product gets out, but not being able to exchange a defective one for another at the same price I paid leaves me with no option but to send it back and be dissatisfied.

Defective scooter.
Terrible product and terrible customer service. The scooter broke within the first three months of owning it and yes, the parts were sent to me, but I had to replace them and fix it myself. The scooter has also never gone the speed that it is advertised to go. Iâve clocked it on my phone and our daughters have two other similar scooters that actually cost less Same brand but cheaper because theyâre batteries arenât rated for as much distance. Every time I my son rides with his sisters, he is the slowest one of the bunch and holds everyone up because the scooter has just never worked. Wright contacted customer service and they told me it was due to battery life but this has been a problem since we bought it. I think this entire thing should have been replaced by the gotrax company since I clearly got a lemon. We have two of the cheaper pink ones and this one cost me closer to 400 or maybe 500 when I bought it. Total crap to spend good money and not have problems resolved.

Update:I always liked the portability of this scooter as the other scooter we have (Ninebot Max) is just too heavy to lug around for daily commuting.Six months after buying this scooter I developed a problem with the latch that hooks the scooter close / open. It is easy to close but VERY difficult to open. It got to a point that the latch broke and there was no place for me to buy a replacement.I then reached out to the Canada Customer Service team and they gladly sent me the replacement part – free of charge!I know now that the latch issue can be remedied by adjusting it. Thanks again GoTrax for the splendid service even beyond the warranty period.

Great product. Use caution but honestly such a fun and useful product. We bought two and use them to go downtown, leaving the car at home. We enjoy the waterfront,some food and a few drinks then cruz home. It’s a blast. I live in Halifax, NS (very hilly) battery life is good. Highly recommend

The scooter breaks all the time and I’m constantly fixing it. What makes it worse is that you can’t buy parts from gotrax. they have the parts on their website but you can’t actually order them because they are always sold out. The customer service is horrible you can’t actually contact them even when you write an email they just never respond. It hasn’t even been a year yet and my scooter is on its end of life. I strongly recommend buying something else with better reliability. All of their claims about the distance it will travel are lies which just makes me not trust the company.

I had a error code on my gotrax so I called customer service. Within 1 week they sent me the replacement part. Great product, I love it!

I’ve had mine for over a week and ridden it daily. The tires don’t seem to hold air particularly well, I end up having to add air every other day. The battery life is pretty great however.The speedometer seems to read fast, I’ve checked with my GPS and it says I’m doing 13.5Mph and the scooter says 15.5, the front head light isn’t particularly great, but I plan on adding some lighting mods to my scooter.
