Great LED strip lights
I have been super pleased with these lights. We installed them semi-permanently near the ceiling to provide diffuse light for a dark office, and while they are not bright enough to light the whole space on their own, they are quite bright! The diffuser and track instaled without any trouble, and were easy to cut to exactly the right size when we needed. Overall, these lights are great quality, and the app is surprisingly full-featured which lets us play with some fun lighting effects.

LED lightstrip kit with full diffusion channels
This item is really actually 2 products in one. There’s a RGBIC lightstrip, and a set of diffuser channels. The light density on the strip is such that you will achieve fully even diffusion along the entire length of the channel if you use this lightstrip inside. The bonus is that the lightstrip is attached to the channel with these clips, so while the channel uses 3M VHB to install to a wall, the lightstrip itself is not permanently attached to the channels. You can reuse these lights for something else later on, if you decide to remove the channels.That being said, several things to consider about this kit: they provide angle connectors for inner and outer angles along the horizontal length, but they do not provide any 90 degree corner right angles, for going from horizontal to vertical. You will need to hack something together if your run involves any of these turns.The lights themselves are very vibrant, typical of Govee lights. Consequently, they are also unable to be dimmed down, so there’s really no visible difference between 1% brightness and 30% brightness. Just be aware that once these lights are installed, you will have to turn them completely off if you no longer want a bright light in the installed area. There is no “dim” option with this lightstrip–it’s either bright, brighter, brightest, or off.The color movement along the lights also appears a bit choppy at times. Instead of seeing a smooth and continuous transition of colors along its length, you will see a very abrupt segment of color that’s sliding across the length, at a frame rate that is low enough for each segment to have a noticeable pause during the transition. It looks stutery and choppy, because it isn’t using a gradient transition that will smooth out the colors as they change.All things said, it’s a pretty good deal for the price of the kit. You’re getting fully diffused channels, a reusable light strip, and app control for the whole thing with smart home control compatibility. You can setup complex triggers to control these through Smartthings and Alexa, like motion or presence triggers, or times of day, or nest them together so motion triggers difference scenes during different times of the day, whether or not you’re home. The wifi module included with this kit really opens the possibilities for what you can use these lights for. I think the sum of all those parts will more than justify the price.

I am writing this review because I came back to buy another set and the price dropped for Black Friday.I rate this product 5/5, yes when I originally bought them they were expensive but I have been a fan of Govee for 3 years now. I bought these because there are no light fixtures in my living room and needed regular lighting. Itâs a plus bc it works with Alexa. The app is super helpful and fun to use when I have guests over. Dimming is interesting because even with a very low setting , I enjoy how bright it is in my living room. Everyoneâs experience is different and mine has been a positive one. I have two measuring 32ft long and will have another set in my bedroom. Highly recommend using the included 3M tape careful when reapplying because it is some pretty strong stuff. I decided to drill a few as well and cut a few plastic pieces to size. I am handy so I made it work and will make it work when it is time to move and remove the strips.Update: 1/26/2025The included 3M tape is pretty strong, my only complaint is the removal of this adhesive. It is meant for a permanent application but with a heat gun youll remove the tape without damaging your walls. I found out after removing the first one. My solution to this issue is the command strips with the velcro attached. Recommend purchasing a variety pack and this will allow for easy removal without damaging your walls/paint. Then again if you do end up damaging it, drywall repair kits available at the local Lowes or Home Depot. Hope this helps. Still 5/5 product.

The whole LED strip package
I really like this light strip. This replaces an older one that I have and it’s a lot cleaner looking. It includes the channels and diffuser along with clips to mount the LED strips inside. It basically comes with everything you need to set this light strip up with a clean look. The only thing you would need is a saw or something to cleanly cut the channels if you need it to fit in a specific space. It was very easy to get this connected to the Govee app and have it setup. The Govee app is also another reason to get this. Their app has a ton of customization and is one of their strong competitive advantages. I love using their lights as a result.

The strip lights themselves are nothing special. However, with the diffuser for the lights, the vibrancy of colour is great. The plastic is easy to cut if you need to trim and go around corners. (Simple $5-10 hacksaw) The clips to hold the striplight in place in the diffuser are great. There are more than enough to support and hold the lights. My mistake was putting up the channels without measuring it out to where you can cut the light strip. It integrated with my Google home very easily. I can use Google home to change colors, brightness, etc. This is my 3rd Govee Product. 10/10 recommend.

I own a bunch of Govee lights and this one has the most impact on a room. The covered track gives a very clean look. I messed up and put the clips all in backwards – the proper way is they go inwards so the u shape follows the shape of the track. I feel like that could have been more clear in the instructions.

Such an excellent kit. Govee is definitely consumer oriented and easy to install. The app is easy to use and has more features than one could dream of.I gave it 4 stars because it does require cutting to custom fit and have tidy ends. I have fluted slat walls and these do not fit in between the panels. Also, the system is not symmetrical.. what that means is there are sides that show less light and a back side that is opaque. The corner pieces appear to be designed to allow you to make 90 degree angles against wall edges and corners only… you can’t go up the middle of the wall without exposing one of the asymmetric sides.
