I recently discovered Govee products and I’ve been hooked ever since — and this ice machine is no exception. Fast, and ice is always available!
I took a chance on this, because I have ice requirements (purely subjective) that I wasn’t sure an ice machine would satisfy. I’ve been buying an 8 lb bag of ice from the local gas station every week or two for the past five or more years! I am happy to say I like this machine. If anything, I have MORE ice than I need. I run it for an hour or two and get a nice supply that lasts for one or two days. Having ice on demand means I have more room in my freezer because I am only storing about 4 lbs at a time.I have settled on the “medium” ice size. There was not much difference between large and medium, and I am not interested in small. The attached picture shows the ice (with tea) in a 26-ounce Yeti Rambler tumbler. I hope that gives an idea of the size.I was concerned about the ice texture – would it be too soft? One review said it was soft, but I disagree. It is a good, solid texture that hardens up even more in the freezer. I tried storing it in a stainless-steel bowl at first but quickly discovered that a plastic bag works best. There is inevitably some extra water that gathers in the ice before you bag it and it can freeze together. When you store in a plastic bag, you can easily break it up with a drop onto the countertop or floor.NOTE: this product freezes the ice, but there is no cooler to keep it from melting. The longer you leave it in the bin, the more it melts. I’ll retrieve several times during my ice-making window, so I don’t get too much melting or soggy ice.It is not very loud – probably a little louder than a refrigerator due to the fan being on the side, and the ice dropping into the bin. It is not bothersome, and I work about eight feet from it.I am not using the “smart” features. I don’t need yet another app. Also, I can always tell the status of the machine since I can see it from my desk. 😊The instructions are poor, but it is pretty easy to figure out with their help. I recommend this – at least for now. My colleagues have told me the issue they have had with icemakers is that they break down pretty fast. I hope that’s not the case, but if I start to have issues, I will definitely update this review.

I bought this from glamping, and I like it.
I bought this for being able to make mixed drinks and have ice, without needing a cooler full of it. I already had a nice big power station so powering this things camping, tailgating, or whatever was not an issue. It made plenty of ice for me and with my amount of use I could have probably served 3 or 4 people with it, at least. I had it in the rear cab of my truck and while it was not hot out, it was not cold either. The ice can melt fairly easy but the water recycles and new cubes come out rather quick. It did not leave me wanting for ice one time. If I was at home and could have put the cubes in a freezer I would have had plenty of ice on standby. I had an electric cooler too but I didn’t have it freezing and the ice maker was making ice fast enough I didn’t need to try and store any. I was very pleased with it. If I could change anything instead of the clear plastic ice holder I would like to see that part insulated so it would hold ice it makes a little longer. However, how they designed it I will say it looks nice and the lights make it much better looking than an insulated version would be. Not a big deal anyway.

Is good cold box
Is make ice very good. Fill with water and push button called start. Machine go brrmmm then cold nuts come out. You put in drink and drink go cold. 10/10 as advertised.

I was really torn between 4 and 5 stars. I’m giving it 5 stars with a benefit of the doubt. This is our first ice maker. I have friends who own them, but that really doesn’t give me enough to make a comparison. I’ve purchased Govee products before and have been pleased every time. I’ll start with the positives:- The wifi compatibility and app is awesome! I can turn this thing on from work to start making ice to have ready for when I get home. That is beyond convenient!- The ice is what you would expect for a small countertop ice maker. It’s not crystal clear, hard ice, but no countertop ice maker makes such ice. That being said, when I fill my insulated water bottle, I’ll still have ice 18 hours later. I always keep it on large size and that’s just perfect.- It is quiet for something that runs off refrigerant. It’s not dead silent by any means, but I’ve heard louder. I have it tucked in on the other side of my fridge and it doesn’t bother us out in the living room.- UGG! COLOURED LIGHTS GOOD! ME LOVE FLASHY COLOURED LIGHTS! In all seriousness, having fully programmable lights is a neat little addition. It even makes a little conversation piece at house parties.Now, for the minor issue. When we received this package the brand box was inside of another larger box. There was minimal damage to the exterior box, but when I removed the original box there was somehow more damage, and in a different location that the minimal damage on the exterior box. Sure enough, when I removed the ice maker from its original box… dents. There was a dent on the bottom by the ventilation and another up on the top on the back, left. I’ve included photos of these dents fresh out the box. It seems as if the original box sustained these damages before being put in the larger box for shipping. If I knew for sure this was the case, then it would have been a 4 or even a 3 star review. However, I can’t confirm when it sustained damage. It also works fine, and although it sucks paying the amount of the cost to receive a damaged product, I’m basing my stars off of the product itself. Not Amazon or the shipping company. Hence, 5 stars. All in all, love it! Worth every penny, especially if you already have Govee products and the app set up.
