A must-have for live performances in small venues
I bought this item for use at small-venue gigs for monitoring, backing tracks etc.Item arrived well-packed, no issues with battery charging/battery life.Setup was straightforward (recommend CH2 for backing/line-level and save CH1 for mics requiring phantom power.Support was awesome when I encountered issues with the app (use JBL Pro Connect). after that, smooth sailing all the way!This unit has more than enough power for small venues, plenty of low-end handling, also sounds amazing when BT streaming. On the live performance side, I run Roland SPD One WAV through an ART Tube MP Studio into CH2, and add some bass to add punch to backing tracks.The on-board FX are a bonus – we normally use outboard units and will experiment with the on-board options.EQ is simple to set on-board, and even better with the JBL Pro Connect app.Great value, good price point, will definitely consider a second unit, THANKS!

Bluetooth Nightmare
You have to be a tech genius to get the Bluetooth to pair and play. I spent four or five hours reading manual, trying to use the JBL app, attempting to get sound when it showed it was paired. It happened once, right after I did a factory reset. It sounded great. I powered it down and tried again later. Back to square one. No sound. I reset several times, but the magic was gone. Not only that but my iPhone no longer pairs with my car stereo of same brand. Iâm returning the speaker, removing the app from my devices, and praying things will just go back to the way they were before this speaker came into my life. It should just work, no drama. But no luck for me, Iâm afraid.

The best bluetooth speaker on the market. update May 2023
I tried this against my friend’s soundbox 1 & 2, with superior quality and portability. I have not run the battery out yet, and I have hosted three parties with this. I will update after a hot Florida summer and beaches.Detailed review for my snobs.1. Portability. It takes about 1 minute to set up and be ready to go. No power is needed at all.2. Battery Life. I used the speaker at a pool party for about 4 1/2 hours, 3 PM – 7:30 PM at about 80% volume, and saw almost no battery lost. 100% was honestly way too loud for our group of 40.3. Controls. I used an Ipad Mini and My JBL Pro APP to control each channel. I used the speaker to speak at a dance conference, and it did sensational with my Rode wireless mic hooked up to channel 1 with an XLR adapter. I was able to control my pitch and volume separately and flawlessly with my iPad.4. Loudness & Bass: I was in a 3,000 SQFT Ballroom, and I placed it dead center while I was teaching my dance class and had no issues filling the room with audio. Now for a large party for more than 200 People, I recommend the 2nd one to increase the range. If the ceiling is low in the venue in which you’re using it, you will not be disappointed. The bass is much stronger than the soundbox three especially connected to power. We tested both sides by the side in a 2,000 SQFT clubhouse, and the separate bass module for the JBL made the difference. It was also slightly louder powered, and the battery sounded about the same, but the JBL was much crisper at higher volumes.Overall: This is the kind of super Bluetooth speaker. I have been looking for something portable but powerful, and this is absolutely the best product I have ever used. I cannot wait to purchase another one this summer for beach parties.May 2023 Update: still working perfectly even extremely hot Florida weather. Ran it 6 Hours at a pool party and no issues at all.

Decent speaker
I purchased one of these 4 months ago. When using for a keyboard and vocal mic, it seemed to work well in a decent sized room with a crowd of about 50-60 people. The sound is ok for what it is. It is easy to use. Directions were easy to follow. The iPhone app nicely laid out. The issue I have, which precludes me from giving 5 stars is the bluetooth connection. The signal drops making it difficult to control the speaker via iPad/iphone. If this were fixed, I would definitely give 5 stars. The bluetooth lack of connectivity was also an issue when attempting to play music from an iphone/ipad. If this issue is remedied, it is a great speaker for smaller applications. Decent sound.
