TL;DR: Great sound! It’s an upgrade from any KZ original cable but also heavier. Four stars are primarily based on the lack of a cable adjuster, which usually allows the user to cinch the cable to the back of the head instead of letting it dangle from the ear.Background:I recently purchased the KZ ZS12 Pro in-ear and saw a review that suggested buying these as an upgrade to the original cables that come with the in-ear, so I did. As for someone with a background in live audio, I know that different types of wires will produce different sounds. People usually wonât notice anything unless thereâs a side-by-side comparison or something they can template-match their experience with. Knowing that an upgraded cable would produce better sound was the driving reason for this purchase.Design:This cable has a beautiful design of gold, silver, and copper metals entwined together to create high-quality sound. It is approximately three times the thickness of the original cable and adds quite a bit of weight.When it comes to the length, this cable is approximately 42 inches long, roughly 2 inches shorter than the original cable, and approximately 5 inches shorter compared to the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro. Not that this is a dealbreaker, but itâs worth mentioning. It also features a straight connector as opposed to a right-angle, which might be something that youâre looking for.As mentioned above, it lacks the cable adjuster, which is a feature Iâm used to having on my Sennheiser. Because these cables are heavier than your normal in-ears, I did notice that these cables can sometimes fall off of your ear, depending on the shape of your ear and how often you move around on stage when using them.Audio:I tested this cable with two different songs, PYT by Michael Jackson in Dolby Atmosphere and When Wind Meets Fire by Elevation in Dolby atmosphere via Apple Music on my iPhone.The original cable already creates a very airy sound and lacked some of the mid range, giving the appearance of high clarity without body. With the upgraded cable, you gain back some of the mid range and less of the airy highs, while maintaining the clarity that some might be looking for in an in-ear.Overall:I am definitely glad that I made the additional purchase with my KZ ZS12 Pro. Without this cable, I may have considered returning my in-ear purchase and just stuck with my Sennheiserâs. If thereâs any feedback, I just wish that all of their cables came with some type of adjuster so that users like me can cinch the cable to the back of our head instead of just dangling from the ear.

Great cable but no cable synch
Yes, a high quality cable, but was surprised to find that the silver grommet thing didn’t move, thus no synch to tighten the cable around the back of your head.If you are a user that just let’s the cable hang then you will be just fine.
