Great (if you already have the Lumary ecosystem)
I already have the Lumary app for the Lumary ceiling fan, so I decided to go all in and replace a set of recessed lighting with their Lumary equivalents, so I could have the benefit of color customization and voice command access with the Google Home app.Unfortunately, my preexistent recessed fixtures were not conventional cans, so I had to jury rig the retrofit kit from Lumary by using 2.75″ springs from the hardware store to install them. Thankfully, it worked — the overall installed result was about as good as can be expected, especially given the limitations. You can see what they look like in the attached photo with the colored ring turned on. Although the manual indicates that the network HAS to be 2.4Ghz for these items to work, my Google wifi mesh (which uses both 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies) was used without difficulty.Even more importantly, the colormapping in Lumary’s app for controlling the ring colors in these recessed lights was actually accurate, which cannot be said for their ceiling fan. So none of the ridiculous hijinks of the ceiling fan (red for green and vice versa) are evident when using the recessed lights with the Lumary app or via voice command.Speaking of voice command, the 3rd party bridging with Google Home is largely seamless, but voice command to turn on JUST the colored rings (default name “colour_switch”) and not the main lights… well, that turned out somewhat hit&miss. For that, here’s the voice commands for Google Home that I’ve found through trial and error to work the best:”Okay Google, turn on ONLY the colourswitch in [name of room/location]”e.g. “OK Google, turn on ONLY the colourswitch in the hallway”For making the rings a different color:”Okay Google, make the [name of room/colorswitch] [whatever color you want]”e.g. “OK Google, make hallway indigo”

Great light, terrible app
These lights are great, easy to install and fit perfectly in the retro can. Trying to program them to go on and off at sundew and sunrise are a complete challenge. The customer service is completely unhelpful with trying to get it figured out even though they donât want you to send the product back.

Incredibly Easy Retrofit, Packed with Smart Features!
Our house has 20+ year old can lights, and after years of replacing fading or blinking LED flood bulbs, I decided to try the Lumary Smart Retrofit LED Recessed Light as a test in our kitchen. It literally took longer to retrieve and set up the ladder than it did to install the light itself.The light looks fantastic once installed, offering a modern, clean aesthetic.
