Good reference book for beginners
Great book for anyone who wants to learn python or needs a refresher on the basics.

Includes overview of AI
This gives a great broad overview of Artificial Intelligence for the beginner, in addition to its introduction to Python.

would not recommend
not as easy to follow

All-In One????
The test starts out with basics and then moves on to specific hardware applications. Anything beyond the basics isn’t covered. The title ‘dummies’ is correct.

Covers everything, plus the unexpected
At 700 pages, this book pretty much covers everything about Python you need to learn. It starts out gentle and has clear explanations and code snippets. I’ve bought three Python books and I think this one is the best for beginners. What’s interesting is that the book talks about some current topics you might not expect in a beginner book, like AI and neural networks. That kind of lifts it above the average beginning programmer book, IMHO.If you’re new to Python and just starting out, this is a good choice to start with.

The book sucks
The only good “for dummies” book I have seen was “Linux Quick Reference for Dummies” and I wrote it. If you really want to learn Python get “Python in a Nutshell”. It’s real.

As described.

A comprehensive guide for a good price, it targets the contemporary themes of todays programming world

It does not tell you that it requires the installation of several other utilities. It is written around the Visual Studio which also requires the installation of other utilities, so a big chunk of starting to read the book is getting to grips with all these. However, this is made much harder by the almost impossible to read screen grabs used to supposedly help you. It would all be simple if a bit of thought was put into this. It uses Jupyter as a notebook which further confuses things. So the book is actually more about using VS and Jupyter than much else. There are lots of projects available but again not listed in the sales preamble so a major part of what you are buying is not necessarily relevant. The code bits it does show are a standard language introduction but integrating all these simple things in with what appears to be an over complex editing facility is painful to go through, until you get used to it. This is particularly relevant since Python already has a terminal and IDE as part of its package, so using VS is a complicating ‘bonus’. The list of and use of the syntax and various commands and functions especially parameter options is really poor, often confusing and badly explained, not having a reference list then makes it much harder to use. This book is poor value for money and not really for Dummies or learners! Giving it 3 stars is really over marking it!

A Present for a user of other …for dummies books.

Dreadful – if you want to use AI to write your code for you fine.Badly written, badly explained – don’t go anywhere near it
